The Spirit is a very overstable, very dependable disc. You can throw it in any wind, and it will fly true. I think this is the best overstable "distance" driver on the market. You won't be using this for distance, it's a utility disc, and a great one. It doesn't have too much glide, which is exactly what I want in an overstable utility disc. The hand feel of this disc is absolutely money. It's shallow, not too shallow, and feels great. I don't ever want to play without my Spirit.

If you need beef, this is beef.

The Spirit is incredibly shallow and incredibly flat with an aggressive wing shape. Comfortable in the hand for most people, but if you have big hands or thick fingers you might have a hard time with its short depth. The rim thickness itself is still very reasonable and on par for a 12 speed disc. Great for scrambles, hurricane force winds, anhyzer forehands, and skip shots. Not good for distance unless you've got gargantuan power. Most players would find this to be a utility disc, more comfortable than a Max, Slab, or Nuke OS. Some of the older Evolution runs have some dome and will actually glide and fly closer to a Halo Destroyer. Diamond plastic will give a touch of dome that gives more glide, but don't expect much. Hyper Diamond Spirits are board flat and give no glide, so don't expect to be like Calvin Heimburg with a Draco. That being said, it will hold anhyzer or straight flight a bit further than you think. It's not on Tilt levels where it fights back immediately. But it will always find its way to the ground.

If you need an inexpensive utility disc to rely on, or if you play in consistent 20+ MPH winds, this is probably a good disc to have in your bag. Gateway plastic is always a couple bucks cheaper than most other premium brands and really consistent across the last several years.

A very unique and beastly disc!

Definitely will be your extreme disc in your bag, I mainly throw it forehand if it's off the tee and can get it 400 max but I should also state my Max D forehand drives are 500, so that goes to show how meaty this thing is.

Great forehand roller, great get out of jail disc. I have a Sabot as well that I bag (just becasue it's prettier) and I think the Spirit actually has a bit more glide. Huge distance on flex forehands.

My favorite shot to get a reaction out of people is a sky forehand that will eventually pan out with the most dramatic s-curve for over 400ft shots. Its wicked overstable, but still can get some major distance!

If you are even considering this disc you need to know what your in for. It is not the average overstable driver.

This rating is specifically for the main use of the Spirit: Very Windy Days that require a shot to hook or fade hard at the end. This disc is absolutely a meathook, and the one I had was purple with high PLH and very flat. Even on a flex line, this disc flies maybe 300 feet max due to its thin profile and big rim, allowing it to cut through the air easily.

If there was a disc that simply laughs at headwinds, this is the disc. I love using it for the those utility shots, specific skip shots that do not need a lot of distances, and I have even used it for max distance overhand drives.

Outside of the those uses for me, the disc normally just sits in my bag and is a good one to show to other fellow friends or disc golfers. I do not recommend this disc for beginners, especially those learning backhand. Even though the rim is a comfortable width for a "distance driver," this disc will not fly very far.
