I found a really beat in Spirit one day and didn't really know what I had.  I called the person and they had a bag stolen years ago and lived several states away, so yay free disc.  It just happened that I found it right after injuring my knee so I was relegated to forehand shots as my X-step was X'd out.  This thing is tremendous at forehand drives, and it taught me how to do them well.  I affectionately named it Spot (as the top circle was blacked out) and it has become one of my favorite discs.  If you want to learn forehand, this disc will always come back, and get you some good distance along the way.

This is possibly the best overstable driver on the market. Headwinds? What headwinds, I just cut through them with the Spirit.

You can throw an anny flex with it that is almost vertical to start and it will end hyzer.

Is it a trickshot disc? Yes.

Is it the best there is at what it does? Yes

    This disc is AWESOME!

Don't get me wrong, there's no reason for anyone but advance, big arms or pro-level players to bag this disc.  However, it's a great disc to throw in your bag to go to some field training or take out in a casual round on a really windy day when you don't want a disc to flip.  This thing is overstable like none other.  I can throw it as hard as I want forehand on a 45 to almost standing up and watch it gradually flatten out and still spike hyzer if it's high enough.    I use it on windy days or holes with tight ob or to get around obstacles whether that's a hard turn, thumbers or tomahawk.  Learn this disc and it's a great utility or just something to have fun with to change things up.

    Yuck!

Hoo-boy, is this thing an overstable beast! I've thrown my share of overstable classic discs (Viper, Firebird, Predator, Flick, Zone, Gator) as well as the new boys (Scythe, Stilletto) and none of them match up to the Spirit from Gateway. I've actually thrown it in Sure-Grip as well as Evo, and both were insanely overstable.

I honestly can't think of an honestly good use for this disc on the course. Overhands, maybe. Sidearms, I guess if you have insane torque on your throw. Essentially, this disc is a trick shot disc. Not for the faint of heart, use the Gateway Spirit with caution.

I won this disc in a drawing.  This is really overstable - like a longer Viper.  If you have a big arm, perhaps this is the only way you can throw a flat release and not over turn the disc.

The spirit really amazed me how much hyzer the disc has. As soon as you release it it wants to hit the ground. I have to almost hold it like a tomahawk while throwing it sidearm. This disc will flatten out then fade hard. I haven't found a disc that has that much hyzer. I've thrown quite a few os discs. Spirit is a go to head wind disc for sure. .

I like the shallow grip on the rim and it's very overstable. The Evo plastic Spirit is too floppy and overall just not durable enough for me. When I need it I usually throw it hard, which means when I miss my shot it's likely to slam into something hard. I've had a Nuke OS for a lot longer and not a scratch, but I can't say the same for my Spirit. On the plus side it's more likely to stay put when it lands. Unfortunately, if I had to choose one disc for spike hyzers, thumbers, and the occasional side arm, I wouldn't pick this disc.

holy stable disc batman!!!! this thing will not flip! super dependable, and for me, i can throw it further than a new firebird or predator. simply, is faster, more stable, and has more glide than a firebird or predator.

the spirit is a small super overstable driver similar to a whippet. In the right hands and circumstances it could be a useful utility disc, but it was too overstable for me.

This disc is about as overstable as I've ever thrown. It's good for a hard dogleg about 150 foot out for me, and the verdict is still pending on a forehand, but otherwise it is too much for me right now.

Spike hyzer spike hyzer spike hyzer! That pretty much sums it up lol. My hyzer isn't the strongest but the turn and speed this has makes it a hell of a lot easier to get the job done. When I do.decide to dust off the sidearm and try for Max turn and distance this is definitely one I go for
