The Slayer is a fairly stable-flying, high-speed distance driver. It has a thick rim and will sail well over 400 feet for powerful disc golfers. This disc will turn, but is stable enough that it rarely flips over. The Gateway Slayer is available in ultra durable Evolution plastic, as well as the affordable Sure Grip plastic blend. This high-speed driver can be purchased in lighter weights, providing easier distance for newer players.

I have an affinity for this disc. First time I threw it, it felt so natural. Without much effort at all I seem to be able to wing this thing with confidence. My throws seem effortless and I often just toss and walk away as the disc does its thing. I have it in a light weight of 166 grams but my distance is about the same as heavier discs I use. I have had some of my best pin shots with this disc and I will tell you why.

It is the incredible flop this disc (evo plastic) nearly always performs upon landing. It basically sticks like glue wherever it lands. With most of my other discs, even soft putters, it seems I cannot always predict where the disc with go when it hits the ground. With the Slayer it seems like a magnet for wherever it touches down. It will often flips straight up and straight back down with absolutely no roll. I have had a few unpredictable flight paths in the wind which may be due to the flexibility or just the wind itself.

I notice that other players seem to think this isn't a good one for beginners but I rated it neutral simply because I am fairly new to the game and it works great for me. I wouldn't suggest it necessarily for exclusive backhanders except for when you might need a lot of height and speed with no roll (perhaps getting around trees) As for a something you can really throw without the fear of it rolling unto the next fairway, it's perfect Though it lacks the accuracy of some other discs in tight spots.
