The Illusion is a fast, overstable distance driver made by Gateway. This disc is easy to throw and is great for sidearms, tomahawks, and distance drives. The Illusion is available in both of Gateway’s great plastics. If you’re looking for a great grip, try Sure Grip. If durability and long life is more important, go with Evolution plastic.

I'll start by saying my Illusion is a 176g pop-top.

This disc confused me for the first 3 months that I owned it, but after throwing it for a while and hitting quite a number of trees it has found quite an important role in my bag.  Out of the box, this disc is INSANELY stable--like Innova Monster/Prodigy X1 level. However, the thing with Gateway Evo plastic is that their discs lose their initial overstability very quickly, but then maintain their medium stability for a long time (I own 5-6 evo plastic discs that all do this).  That is exactly what happened for me with this disc. I threw it for spike hyzers and sidearms for about 3 months, until one day it started to flip up on me. Since then, it flies somewhere between a wraith and a destroyer--good distance and speed combined with solid hookup fade. It definitely has found a spot alongside my destroyers and outlaws.

The feel of this disc is like few others on the market. It is super thin with a huge dome which makes it feel really fast.  Evo plastic is somewhat like discraft ESP, but other than that I dont know how to describe it...

In summary: Gateway drivers are very strange in the way they feel an the way that they wear in.  Give the illusion a shot and work it in over a few months. You will not be disappointed!

In my experience with this disc, I never could get it to fly. But that was in the early stages of my game. Now the one thing I had this disc for before I lost it, was for skipping. I have been searching high and low for this disc. And finally I have found a replacement. Thanks Infinite team for all that you do.

I use this disc for OH throws, or as a hammer throw for you Ultimate converters. It's difficult to throw for my weak arm, but it's durable in the E plastic. Perfect for wooded places when you need an OH throw.

Big boy arms only. If you don't have a four finger power grip, then this disc will fade very quickly on you. Very very durable in the evo plastic. Great flight characteristics even when getting broke in. If you're patient with it, it will pay u back with a go to disc in some tight spots. I think this is the disc Garrett Guthrie threw 800 ft!!! So broke in with a power throw and we are talking serious distance. Again, a great tool in teaching power throw techniques.A durable disc that will stay in your bag a long time. I agree with the previous reviewer, this disc is very fast. I cannot put enough power on it to keep it from fading hard too early. One day I hope I will be able to throw this disc, but for now it is too fast for me.
