The Gateway Demon is an extremely overstable midrange. If you're looking for an overstable mid that won't flip over on those really windy days, this is it. The Speed Demon is one of the most OS mids on the market and the best Gateway mid for forehand flick shots.

This review is for the SureGrip, I'm sure premium plastic is a more stable flight.

Was expecting much more overstable flight, but what I got was a straight flyer with some bite at the end. I was throwing this fairly hard with a touch of hyzer (RHBH), it would get up to speed quickly, bank to the right a couple clicks and then have a dive to the left once it slowed down. Finishing in line with where it started.

The rims width feels closer to a fairway than a mid. More Teebird width than Roc. The top of the disc is grooved, sort of like a Discraft GT disc.

I liked this disc best on throws where I was throwing with less power on anny. It would hold straight or a little turn then hook up at the end.

Felt very comfortable in the hand for forehands. Thrown hard (RHFH) the Demon would quickly turn and hold that, only to flex out and try to dive. I liked it for slower thrown forehands as well. Flies straight with a touch of finish. Great for upshots.

I personally could see this disc being a staple in bags, it has a versatile amount of shots out of the box. SureGrip plastic was on the softer side and very grippy.

Best disc choice for forehand holes that really 240-320. Can take a hard pull but also be shortened with a finesse shot.

I have this disc in Diamond plastic. It feels a lot like my PD2 (very overstable driver) in shape and stability, but with a miniaturized flight pattern: it goes 2/3 as far and has 1/2 the low speed sideways finish. This disc is great for the woods on those 200-300 ft flick shots where you are tempted to throw your OS driver or firebird type disc for comfort, but you know that its just too much disc for the shot and is gonna leave you 40 deep and to the right. Just rip the demon at it and you won't get yourself into trouble.

For example, there are a lot of holes on my very wooded home course where I'm back and forth between my Buzzz OS and my Firebird/FD3 and when I got the Demon it just made sense to go with that instead.

    Crush your Demons

This is one on my favorite discs! I have a sure grip, diamond and HD blends.

    *Disclaimer*

I've found that most if not all Gateway discs come brand new with gross and terrible flashing around the rims. I usually sand them down to be smooth.*

The Demon is the most underrated disc I've ever thrown. The greatest universal disc I've ever had in my lineup. The Demon can do it all. Anhyzer S-shots, hyzer bombs, flat lasers to SICK skip shots. The Demon CACKLES at headwinds. Granted the Demon doesn't have the greatest glide and on a GOOD day I can smash my flippy one out ~325'. If you play a lot of woods golf and have technical lines you NEED this disc. Watch this disc QUITE literally scream through the air as it bombs it's target.

    *Sure grip*

Likes being wet, breaks into a flippy disc pretty quick if thrown flat. Still a overstable horse if hyzered.

    *Diamond*

Very pretty, mine is kinda gummy. Has a good dome on it. Still kicking hard. Skippy.

    *HD*

This one is flat and stiff. Grips real nice in hot weather. Terrible for winter play. Skippy.

Have an adventure buy this disc. Learn this disc and control your Demons!

From the get go the Demon has been a sure fire and reliable disc. It is very comfortable to hold (soft plastic), which helps me give a clean release more often than not. This is my favorite overstable mid that I have owned.

I forget what weight I have, but after about 1 year of fairly consistent use it has beaten in to the point where it is just a straight shooter. This is actually amazing because it definitely won't turn still, so now it is a unique spot in the bag as a low glide straight mid: 5.5 / 3 / 0 / 1.

If you're looking for a reliable mid that 'feels good in the hand', this is your disc.

Not For The Weak...Proceed If You Dare!

There was a time when Hucking Aces actually ran a line of signature Big Country (that's me) Demons from Gateway. This was during the time I spent in South Korea. I loved the Demons then, being as I was at sea level, as I could really lay into them and trust them to do just what I wanted, everytime, regardless of the stage of wear said Demon was in.

But that was then, and this is now. I live in Colorado, and at this elevation discs tend to be more overstable. As such, I moved away from the Demon because the last thing that the Demon needs is more overstability. There's only so much beefiness one man can handle. But the Demon is amazing at what it does. The rim is very comfortable and Sure Grip Demons have a super comfortable flat top that slices through the air with an audible HISSSSS (yes, I'm serious.) The Evo Demons are all very domey. Too domey for my liking, though Evo plastic is durable and comfortable.

The Demon is crazy overstable. If you want a crazy overstable, fast mid that slices through the air making a cool noise the entire way...well, then this is it. If that is not specifically what you're looking for, seek thine fortunes elsewhere, gentle travelers!
