Just want to note, this disc has been retooled a few times. The first ones that came out were very much how others described it. More like a thunderbird slot instead of the firebird. However, Gateway has worked its magic and tooled it to be that overstable 9 speed everyone knows and loves. This disc is quite comparable to the raptor, fd3, firebird slot. Look for a lil around the rim of the disc, those are the ones you seek. V2 and above.

Definitely not overstable. Flies exactly like a faster Stalker and exactly what I want from an Undertaker. Can hyzer flip for very straight flights or release flat for an S-Curve. Can pump one out on a higher line for a full flex. Very straight workable fairway. 5 stars as a neutral straight fairway but 0 stars as an overstable 0/3 driver.

Not as overstable as advertised. Honestly, this thing kinda bombs. It's more like a Thunderbird than a Firebird, or even an FL. Think faster Eagle. Some noticeable turn then a solid finish. I don't throw super far or anything but this is a nice straight to fade 9 speed.

It's a very good alternative to other discs in that 9 speed overstable flat disc category (firebird, FD3, felon, raptor...). It's dependable, great for forehand and overhand, and something interesting to bag. 4 star rating only because the plastic quality wasn't great on mine, it had a detect from debris in the plastic, and some irritatingly sharp flashing around the inner rim which I had to sand off.

This is actually just an FL so if you bag a firebird and want more distance, get one of these if you can't find an FL

The Gateway Blade in Hyper Diamond is the most overstable disc in the 'firebird' slot I've found. I have some beefy firebirds, my HD Blade fades harder. Plus it is extremely comfortable in the hand. I use this for shots that I need fade on no matter what. It's got a great skip to it too. My FH is under development and this is the disc I grab when I'm having an off day and just need something to work. WAY to much beef for a beginner unless you want to develop really bad habits on the FH game.

I used a Raptor traditionally for my O/S Fairway slot, but got a Blade as a free bonus in a putter pack, and it's now overtaken my Raptor.  The plastic feels better to me.  Very durable, but some texture for good grip.  Nice flat disc that feels great in the hands.  I have no doubt this will have a strong fade at the end of it.

I am loving this disc! I like it because I can throw it harder into a headwind than I can my star Fiirebird and my Sexton Firebird. Also, it has a very comfortable feel for forehand shots. The Hyper Diamond plastic reminds me of Champion plastic from Innova. My go to for overstable flick shots.

I think it flies more like 9/5/0/4

So I have bagged two Blades for the past month or so, and they hold a very important spot in my line up! Also keep in mind I'm throwing at sea level on the Gulf.

If you have a bigger than average 400+ arm this is not going to be that any wind any power type of work horse. These are Fuzion Felons ?? Your going to see a small amount of high speed turn out of the box with a reliable finish. As they beat in they're starting to remind me of and I find myself using it as a reliable Thunderbird class disc. I can get really surprising distance with this disc, its got some killer glide. However with my arm I can't trust this disc in a headwind when I put some stank on it.

Two month update. This has become my go to fairway driver for anything straight 330 and up, that I'm needing to flip up and ride or big swooping hyzers thrown with a lot of angle. After heavy use and countless trees, its flying closer to 9/5/2/2. More and more Thunderbirdy! I have been leaning on this disc for all types of shot shapes. Its slowly getting more and more high speed turn but i am not complaining. I have fallen in love with it!

I lost my star flat top firebird a year ago and haven’t found anything the felt very similar. I picked up a hd blade last week and it reminded me almost exactly of the flattop firebird but with a little harder fade

I have a Prototype HD Blade that is basically a FAF Innova Firebird. This thing begins to fade about 125-150 feet after a relatively hard thrown. The plastic feels great but does beat up a bit faster than other premium plastics (similar to Big Z), but even with some dings in it, this thing still flies pretty overstable. I would recommend this to those who want an alternative to the Firebird, and I believe it flies closer to other companies' versions of the Firebird (i.e. the Ahti, Predator/Raptor, Criminal, FD3, Fireball, etc.). The Blade also shines in long, slow-panning overhand shots due to its overstability, as well as it just laughs at headwinds.
