If i could give this more stars I would. That being said I do not like the way it feels in the hand. I do not like the way out flies out of the hand. It is so soft and uncomfortable to use but I absolutely love throwing this disc. I can't explain. I've had the interceptor for about a week and have been doing a ton of field work with it in preparation for the Queen City Open in Helena, MT and it has become my main approach shot disc.
I don't feel this is beginner friendly mainly because how floppy it is and because it doesn't fit like any other discs I have thrown.
I don't know where to begin.
The reason this disc is so soft and floppy is for one specific reason and that is to stop right away with little to no ground play. It does exactly that!! Even throwing soft anhyzer to flat landing it will maybe skid 3'-5'. Max power I feel this disc can handle without tacoing/folding during flight is 70%. If you put it on a high hard spike hyzer it will stop dead in its tracks and maybe move 2' at most. Amazing!!
Thrown on anhyzer at 60% power it will hold the line for a good while and then reliable strong fight back and fade. On spike hyzer it just pushes forward of a step hyzer angle never stands up but flies way further than you think it would on the same angle as put off your hand them literally stop in is tracks once or hours the ground.
The one thing i noticed is this disc needs a lot of hight to work on all the angles hyzer, anhyzer and flat. If throwing flat you can NOT throw this nose down because as soon as it loses enough force and speed will just follow the nose down angle right into the ground super short. This i found is great from short up shots that need to get to the ground quick and stick. Like around OB. But to get any distance it needs to be thrown nose up flat, high anhyzer, hyzer and super high hard spike hyzer.
No matter how you throw this out will not move very far from where you throw it. I played on some elevation could not get it to roll away on any angle. I tried throwing forehand roller and couldn't get it to go anywhere. This being said I haven't played on the more dangerous holes for roll-aways with it, yet. Lol.
I imagine when this goes for a ace or throw in it will stick in the basket no matter how it hits. It will go in at some point for me I've already had 4-5 shots that landed within 2-3' of the basket. I came wait for that moment it actually lands in.
I mostly agree with the numbers. 5 speed is kind of accurate but might be closer to 4 speed. Maybe not as much glide, 3-3.5 glide. I think a -.5 or -1 is more accurate for turn only because it's so floppy and thrown with any kind of power it turns a little. The fade at first I didn't think was a 3 or called overstable. But the more I throw it the more I agree with that number and would call it overstable The low end fade is pretty heavy and dumps nice and fast. But the low end fade is a really low end speed so it will hold the anyhyzer angle for longer than a 3 fade suggests even on 50%-60% power.
I haven't completely figured out how to throw it flat consistently. It's much easier for me to throw on anhyzer, soft hyzer and super high hard spike hyzer.
I have been working forehand with this disc and it's even more uncomfortable to throw forehand than backhand. But I've been having good results with hard hyzer angle with more of a ultimate wrist flick upshot. Not a lot of arm. Once I get more comfortable with it I think it can be used for more than short chip up forehands. But for right now that's all I can do with it during rounds.
I have two and wish I would have grabbed more. I'm very happy I decided to try this disc.
