I did field testing with this comparing against some similar discs, and I think the flight numbers are about right for me. I was quite pleased with its flight and distance: I get it to go pretty straight and it usually goes farther than my other similar 8/9/10 speeds, so I bumped up its glide a bit. Not sure it has a full 2 fade: The only times I saw it get a strong fade was when I got it popped up a bit in the wind and then it faded out farther. I like the Lucid plastic (as I do other similar, Champion-type grades from different brands): good feel, release, and durability. Great disc!

I got this disc in a players pack and it is perfect. When thrown flat it will slowly drift to the right on a RHBH for about 320ft before landing softly.

I am new to the sport and recently picked up this disc in a local shop, before I knew about this site. I got one in a prime burst plastic and one in lucid plastic, but they both feel great in the hand and fly super straight with a good fade at the end. I mainly throw RHFH and this is my go to from 250-325.

This was the perfect disc for me to really crank up my distance and perfect my form with.  I felt like this disc is very forgiving for newer players.  The Lucid plastic gives a great sticky feel and has lasted very well against a couple good tree hits.  I recommend this to any newer player looking for a little bit more distance without being punished to much for bad form.

Uniquely capable of easily controlled S-shaped lines, with sneaky great glide/distance.

After it's release for the Trilogy Challenge, I knew it did things that none of my other discs could do, but I didn't immediately understand what it was doing. It would go in and out of my bag for certain courses and conditions, because I had found that it would hold a really nice forehand turn over line and pan out nicely at the end.

Then I got a Valerie Mandujano stamped in a hybrid Fuzion plastic that feels like the Royal Grand plastic.  Fluid-X maybe?  It is pure butter.  I now keep one of these and a Lucid in my bag at all times.

This disc flies 400'+ on a hyzer flip with medium power.  It has become a workhorse for me on calm air days.  I reach for a Vandal instead of my power drivers any time I have a tail wind or have room for it to turn and glide before it eventually fades forward.  Anything but a headwind.  Great for S-shaped tunnel, otherwise needs 20-25' wide straight tunnel for max distance.  It wont hold a hyzer spike or hook/skip hard around a severe dog leg.  I can't throw rollers, but if I could, I suspect the Vandal would excel at rollers.

Feels great in hand for both back and forehand.  No flashing, nicely polished.  Nose is more rounded than sharp.  Shallow rim.  Light dome to mostly flat.

Both Lucid and Hybrid plastics hold up to tree hits very well.  Lucid is hard but still has grip.  The Fluid-X is on par with Royal Grand.

Highly recommend for beginners to learn hyzer flip, forehand control, and get maximum distance with less arm speed.  More advanced players can carve long lines with ease.

    Must-have for wooded courses.

    Disc: 169g, 172g Lucid Vandal

Feel: I was not expecting this based on other discs in this range (Viking, Valkyrie) the Vandal (good one) has more of a convex Leopard-type wing. For a 9-speed rim, it feels fairly small and very comfortable. It has a natural lip up to a fairly flat dome.

Flight: This is what I would call a "Better Valkyrie" it was the disc that I really started to learn to hyzer flip and became my go-to for silly distance and anything crazy in the woods. Released flat it will push right and mellow back at the end. Put in on an anny and it will only pan out at the end of the flight. Hyzer and it will flip up. Super fun and you can just crush this disc!

Conclusion: It is a very workable disc that takes everything that the Valkyrie gets wrong (i.e. touchy, little glide, sharp rim) and fixes it. This disc comes in and out of my bag how I am feeling but I doubt I would ever get rid of it. (3.5/4)

I will absolute confirm that this disc will immediately flip on its side if you throw this with anhyzer.  I like to throw this disc sidearm with a big hook.  I have to really focus on a flat release with this disc or it will seriously dive into the ground.

    FLIPPY!

This is about the flippiest disc I carry but it is also kind of a workhorse. I usually use this disc for shots around 275' - 325' unless I need something overstable for the conditions and shot shape.

With a bunch of hyzer if flips up and gets a nice turn before a gentle fade.

Thrown flat and high it's great for long panning turnovers.

Thrown with anny it's a roller.

Probably could be a good max distance disc for beginners and players with a slower arm speed.

The Vandal is a fantastic disc.  It is easy to get smooth and reliable distance, assuming you don't have a headwind.  I'm not sure what this disc would do for someone with a powerful throw, but for my lower arm speed the Vandal is very versatile.  I can get it to flip up, ride straight and finish easily but consistently to the left.  Flat throws go straight, drift to the right, then gently fade left and sit down (rather than a hard dump).  Put more hyzer on it and the disc pushes forward on that angle.  For these reasons I would say the Turn is 2.

Powered down, the Vandal is also useful for getting straight distance:  it's an excellent option for stand still shots.

Lucid plastic is amazing - grippy with just the right amount of flex.  The rim feels slightly smaller to me than other 9 speeds but is in that great zone between fairway and distance drivers.

This is a great compliment to the Thunderbird (a disc I love for forehand and laser straight lines with solid fade).

Highly underrated.  Definitely a little more understable than the ratings suggest.  Holds the angle you put it on and absolutely goes, with just enough stability and fade.  Most amateur players would be better off putting away the speed 14s and using this 9 speed beauty as a controllable max distance driver.  A great compliment to the more stable stag.  After years of throwing destinies, wraiths, ballistas, etc, I've found a groove leaning into fairway drivers, particularly the vandal.

Great disc. Excellent feel. Predictable flight. I took the Vandals out for some field work with a couple of Undertakers and Spears, and the Vandals consistently flew the furthest, by 30-40 feet. They also flew the straightest of the bunch: Not something I expected, based on the flight numbers for each disc. All discs thrown were 173 grams. Undertaker/ESP and Spear/Diamond.

For reference, I throw RHBH, have been away from the game for a number of years, and starting playing again two months ago. Longest drives are 320-350 feet depending on the disc. The Vandals were consistently reaching just short of 300 feet tonight. Pretty happy with that, and the Lucid plastic feels amazing. Looking forward to getting them out on the course.

The Vandal is my go-to turnover disc. When thrown with good power on hyzer it will flip up, ride straight for a bit, and then turn all the way until the end of the flight. It really mirrors a distance forehand shot well. If I take a little power off of it it will fly extremely straight with good glide. A bit less stable than the numbers suggest, but will eventually fight out if given enough height.

    Lucid Vandal - 173 grams

The Vandal is a great understable fairway driver.  It feels nice in the hand, and flies fairly true to the numbers.  You could consider it a less stable Escape, or maybe a faster Maverick.  It is easy to control and has great glide.  I use it for nice long hyzer flips.  Someone with a faster arm speed might have more trouble keeping it from turning over.  IMHO the Vandal would be a great higher speed driver for a beginner.

    Disc - 174 Lucid Vandal

Feel - The vandal is one of my favorite feeling discs I have ever touched. It has a perfect rim width, semi flat and feels amazing for both backhands and forehands. I love the feel of this disc and if you are a beginner or a player that is looking for a new understable fairway driver or roller, the vandal could be a great option for you.

Flight - The vandal is a fairly understable fairway that is very controllable. It is great in the woods or for shots that you need to hold a turn the entire flight. If you want this disc to be as stable as possible, definitely try the Lucid X or the milky white lucid trilogy challenge vandals because I have thrown two white ones, a blue, and a white fuzion and the white TC lucids were the most stable by a decent margin.

Overall - Great understable fairway that works great for turnovers or rollers and feels amazing in the hand.

I have this disc in Fuzion plastic. My wife got me this disc with a custom dye on the top. It looks AWESOME! This disc can do a lot. It throws like a faster Leopard3. It is really easy to throw a hyzer flip to straight and a little fade at the end. This will hold an S curve if thrown under-powered flat. I love this disc for longer backhand turnovers. Hell you can even roll this badboy.

Like I said, it is a faster further flying Leopard3. I use it as an all purpose understable thrower.

A very good addition to the DD lineup. This disc has a good amount of turn where I can hyzer flip but has a good strong fade at the end especially in lucid plastic. This disc is probably the most ideal for a beginner simply because of its almost equal turn to fade but it being a distance driver for beginners to help people control their throwing speed.

This is one of my main drivers now. I got one at the Trilogy Challenge in 2019, and have kept one in my bag since. It has a nice S-shaped flight path that is not too extreme on the turn or the fade. Generally, for me, it will fade gently at the end of the flight, or a bit more if I gave it enough height. The Lucid plastic feels nice, looks nice, and takes awhile to start to beat in.

Disc - 175 Dynamic Discs Lucid Vandal

Feel - The Vandal feels similar to the other DD 9 speed fairway drivers in my opinion. It has a similar rim to the getaway and the escape but it is a bit flatter than most of those molds. It feels good for both backhand and forehand shots and Lucid plastic is both extremely durable and has good grip.

Flight - The Vandal is kind of in between an Escape and a Getaway in flight pattern. It has some flip up in it but not quite as much turn as the Escape. It has really good glide and has minimal fade. I like it for straight shots that I need to put a bit of hyzer on and get them to flip up to flat and finish very straight.

Overall - I really like the Vandal but I have a few Escapes that are a bit more overstable than most Escapes that I use in the same slot but if you are looking for a nice straight fairway with a good amount of speed the vandal is definitely a good one to try.

173 Lucid Egyptian Bomber Stamp.  Love this disc.  Stable flyer with enough turn to hyzer flip, ride & glide.  Not an understable disc, handles power well, but not a headwind or high wind disc.  Fly's well in winds up to 15-18mph.  Love this disc!!!  Flat rim feels great for flicks.   I'm an advanced player w/400+ power.  Easy to throw, very accurate, backhands & forehands beautifully.

The 2019 Trilogy Challenger Driver was a great choice for Dynamic Discs.  The disc fit's perfectly in their lineup of Fairway drivers as a more neutral flying or understable compliment to the Escape and Getaway in the 9 speed catagory.  For me and my skill level it was a faster version of the Dynamic Discs  Maverick and a slower version of the Trespass.   For a more advance arm this disc will have a nice amount of turn and with its high glide rating will get sneaky distance before a nice dependable finish at the end of its flight.  I feel it can also be worked into a very nice turnover disc and roller for those with even a strong arm.  For a beginner player or maybe someone who doesn't quite throw 300 ft yet, this disc would be the perfect fairway driver to start out with as it wont be to overstable and just fade as soon as it leaves your hand.

I personally replaced the Maverick in my bag and this disc has quickly become a great compliment to the Getaway in my Fairway lineup.

So far s a pretty good disc. I’d say it’s a lot like if they made a slightly more stable Escape, plenty of distance potential, but a little less turn. Sort of like a Stag with a blunter edge and lower dome. Touch of turn a bit of fade and solid if not otherworldly glide.

I got this disc at a trilogy challenge a few months ago (175g) and it took some time to get used to at the actual trilogy challenge, but I figured it out in the second round and started to hyzer flip it successfully. It's stayed in my bag since then, and has gotten a little flippier over time.

This disc is great for beginners and intermediate players. I can't wait to throw this disc in Fuzion burst. I'll probably buy one when they release them.

Like the other reviews, I played in a trilogy challenge this year and played a round with the vandal as my lone driver. The flight numbers made me think valkyrie, and trying to control something that flippy for a whole round would be a chore.

I was pleasantly surprised. It is understable, but not so much that I was fighting a turn and dump the whole round. My favourite was a hyzer flip up to flat that seemed easy and manageable just about every throw.

I'm a fan of this disc and it may just find its way into my everyday bag.

I can't express how happy I was with this disc for my first trilogy challenge. With my moderate arm I was hitting a deadly accurate 375-400'. It's a long speed 9. Low glide, minimal turn, and a nice small bit of fade. This disc kicked my old champion Viking right out of my bag. If you have medium RHBH power and play woods golf, get this disc.

Used on of these guys in a Trilogy Challenge last week, and mine is a 174 Blue Lucid. There were also some air plastic ones in the mix. I would say that it flies a lot like the Stag from Westside, but possibly a bit faster and bit touch less glide. I was able to throw it FH and BH well up to just short of 400 ft.

It's a good overall control driver with a bit of turn and a bit of fade, and workable on many lines. My favorites were throwing it with a touch of hyzer and letting it turn just a bit and fade gently into the target, and very low FH hyzerflip lines that would go quite far for the disc never going very high off of the ground.

Probably wont bag it as it is basically the same as my Stags, but it's a very cool disc overall.
