The Sockibomb Slammer is derived from the original DD Slammer with a little flare of the Westside Discs Harp. This is a very overstable putt & approach mold, which provides excellent consistency. The dependability of this mold is great for all players of all skills levels. This works great for backhand or forehand throws, flying straight with a reliable ending fade every time.

This disc has greatly improved my approach game. I throw it exclusvely on forehands as I dont quite have the backhand to get much use of it. I tend to overturn my other approach discs from time to time with my forehand but with this disc I do not have to worry about that. On a bit of anyhyzer it fights out and just falls, acting as like a pseudo-straight shot that my other overstable approach discs would go too far on. Plastic does beat up a litte quick, but given its used mostly for approach shots I haven't had an issues with trees and such damaging it. Great disc.

I was a little incredulous about this disc. But one round later I can say I absolutely love this disc. Its stability and lack of glide make it incredibly forgiving and incredibly helpful for developing forehands and flick approaches. Since it's essentially a harp bottom I will say that if the harp doesn't comfortable for someone it may not be to one's liking, but my bigger hands fit the harp nicely. Numbers a very accurate, it's not going to go very far but that is a highly valued quality in an approach disc. If Pigs go too far for you or you're a Trilogy fan and want a Pig-like disc, the Slammer is an excellent alternative option.

Super overstable and won't glide very far after release. Great for anhyzer turnovers that you need to fight back a lot and great for upshots

This disc does what it says it does, super overstable with no glide at all. It would be a useful disc, in the same category as the Gateway Devil Hawk if you've thrown it.

What makes this a 2 star disc is the feeling in the hand. This thing is crazy deep, with a weirdly placed thumb track. It could be just me and my buddies, but none of us enjoyed the feeling of the Slammer in our hands. It feels like the combination of the Harp and the Pig, with polecat depth being grandfathered in.

If it felt decent in my hands, I would probably give this a 4/5 because this is a very useful utility disc. Having something like this in the bag can be very helpful, but it is so uncomfortable that I would never want to reach for it during a round.

I recommend sticking with another traditional overstable approach disc like the Zone/Harp/Tactic. If you're looking for more stability and less glide, check out the Devil Hawk from Gateway!
