The Convict is an overstable fairway driver that will help you escape from tricky situations. This disc is more overstable than the Escape but not quite as overstable as the Felon.  The Convict is a thin, low-profile disc with a healthy degree of end-of-flight fade.

I bought one of these when I actually came to buy another Escape, because why not.  While doing some field work, my initial impression was that somehow this disc is more understable than the Escape.  Well, that's kind of true and kind of not.  This disc is very flat - no dome at all.  So, when thrown with any nose-up, it will perform as a stable to overstable disc should.  Definitely more so than the Escape.  However, if you throw this with a level nose angle or with any nose down, it gets a little air going over the top and you can ignore the flight numbers as this will turn over more than an Escape will (same weight and plastic).  Not all discs with a flat top will act quite like this does.  It has two personalities, yet I find each one useful and predictable.  This has great, fast, wide cutting overstable hyzer lines.  Or, I love it for gentle turnover shots on a slight downhill run.

At first I LOVED the convict and bagged it immediately. Within just 2 weeks the disc just wasn't flying the way I remembered. It had beaten in after very few throws and was now flying like an entirely different disc. So I got another one. Same problem! I still bag the disc on rare occasions as an understable compliment to my felons as they feel very similar in my hand.

The main problem with this disc is that it's too understable to be reliable, and to stable to be straight or understable. It'll flip on throw and then fade out the next. Very frustrating results. Decent forehand disc for those with noodle arm forehands and a non-wobbly release. The flat top makes it very comfortable in my hand.

The Convict is a Stable to Overstable control driver from Dynamic Discs. The Convict has a comfortable, but wider rim for a 9 speed driver (I'd say its more of a 10 speed). The Fuzion plastic is comfortable and durable. The flight of this disc is very comparable to a fresh Thunderbird. It is very straight for the majority of the flight, then it has a strong fade at the end. Powered down, the Convict is overstable, and actually fights the wind very well. Could become a workhorse in your bag.

I regret not having tried the Convict sooner. It is by far my easiest driver to throw for distance and control. My distance drivers go about 360-370. I can easily get this disc out to 330 on a very straight line with a reliable fade at the end. It's also a fairly straight forehand disc, although if you don't have smooth forehand form then it probably won't do too well because it's not that beefy. I like this disc mostly because I don't even have to try hard to get it to do what I want it to do. It just works wonderfully. It goes much further than it should for the numbers that it's rated. And as with most Trilogy products, I believe those numbers are less stable than indicated, with more glide.

This for me this disc is interesting, because I don't use it for the purpose it was meant to be for, yet it remains a staple disc in my bag. I use this mainly as a distance driver rather than fairway, and it really shines when I crank the disc as hard as I can. I feel that the turn is more than the number indicates, but that may be my power I'm putting into it and the Fuzion plastic. I get this thing out past 375 easily! It is a great forest control driver too, both forehand and backhand.

I use the Fuzion Burst plastic in 170 g so I may need to go up a couple grams for more stability, or perhaps try Lucid plastic, but this has the potential to remove other molds from my bag if I try a few weight and plastic combos for other shots. The rim is pretty comfy and the disc is pretty flat. In wind, it will turn over unless thrown with some hyzer and control.

Overall this is a wonderful disc that is very versatile and can so many great things to your game, a true workhorse of a disc.
