Lawin means "Eagle" and this high speed driver is designed to help recreational disc golfers soar past the 300 foot distance barrier. The Lawin can achieve a full S-Curve flight path with moderate power. If the Basilisk becomes too flippy, then the Lawin is the next disc to add to the bag. With its domey profile it also provides excellent glide to carry a few extra feet at the end of its flight.

    Max Grip Details

Divigent Max Grip Plastic is one of the grippiest disc golf plastic blends on the market. It combines a soft feel with excellent grip for comfort and top notch performance. The grip compares with popular K1 plastic by Kastaplast with durability similar to the original Discraft X plastic. Maybe it was just me, but I could not make this disc behave for me at all. The HUGE dome on it suggests that there should be some "wiggle room" when it comes to release trajectory, but when I release the Lawin even slightly too high, all of the turn disappears and it becomes a high-flying slab of beef. I know that my arm speed isn't the best, but I feel like I should be able to get at least a -1 turn feel out of it, and I just can't. I would say that a deep understanding of flight physics is almost necessary before you should start throwing this.

This disc isn't great for a BRAND NEW disc golfer, but I would say it's still pretty beginner friendly. I'm about 8 months into disc golf with 5 months of consistent playing and I can get a nice full s flight out of it. I think the beginner misconception of speed = power gives people the wrong idea with discs like this. I don't have a ton of power, but I can whip the disc out of the power pocket quickly and it'll go 300 ft without a ton of effort. Give it a little height and you'll get a long wide turn that'll fade back a good 20-30%.  I haven't beat it in yet so we'll see how it holds up but so far this thing has been great for getting over trees for an easy line on longer fairways. It'll fade back somewhere predictably

So first things first, I received this as a mystery disc, I've never thrown Divergent Discs before, so I was excited to try it out.

The feel of the plastic was not great....it was hard and just didn't feel good...

The flight was interesting, when thrown full power, it turned into a roller almost instantly. However, if thrown at 60-70%, you would get a wonderful hyzerflip disc! The problem was that it was easily damaged, I threw a shot that ended up skidding across a sidealk and the bottom rim ended up looking like it went through a cheese grater....Made for a somewhat painful and uncomfortable gri[ afterwards.

I would say this disc would be great for someone just starting out, it would allow them to learn their angles and give them a little extra distance.

The Lawin feels practically identical to the Basilisk (the Driver from Divergent's Max Performance Starter Set). It has lots of dome with a REALLY low parting line. It has a lot of glide, which is great for newer players, but practically speaking, not a lot is different between this disc and the basilisk. Still good for newer/children/older players, but if you are a recreational player or above, this disc will not do anything for you, unless you're looking for a skomohawk disc.

This thing is easy to throw!

This is a pretty good disc, it feels pretty comfortable in the hand. It has a lot of dome to it, so if you like domey discs, this definitely has a dome. The plastic is pretty consistent feeling with all of the other Divergent Discs that I've thrown.

This thing is pretty understable, it does have a pretty good fade. To me I found that this would give a pretty good S-Curve flight. I also found that if you overpower the disc, it will quickly go onto the anhyzer angle and hold it till the end. I couldn't believe how easy it is to get a S-Curve flight out of this disc, it takes little effort. With its glide it provides some pretty good distance as well.

Overall, I think this makes for a great beginner distance driver.
