The Golem is an overstable putt & approach disc. It has a flat top and a comfortable grip for both backhand and forehand throws. As an overstable putter it will provide a straight flight with no turn and a consistent fade. The Golem can also handle most windy conditions without drastically changing its flight path. It is released in unique Stayput silicone rubber so that it avoids most skips and slides once it lands, plus the material provides a very good grip.

You know that feeling when you had a fine drive, but you get up to it and realize you're looking at a par? This disc will get you that par.

Very overstable and doesn't fly far. Sticks to the ground like a sandbag. Wind is hardly a factor to consider with this disc. Very very soft and rubbery. Takes some getting used to, especially in warm conditions. Once you get past the feel, the range, ground action, wind performance and consistent grip make for a very dependable approach disc.

If the basket is in your range with the thing, you can find some kind of crazy line to stick it there.

The glow plastic for this is much better than Divergent Discs other glow plastic.

The Golem is very overstable, and does what it is meant to do for the most part. The material is sturdy enough that I didn't have any problems throwing it because of floppy rubbery material.

I don't think the StayPut plastic type is really soft enough to prevent that many rollaways, but it probably does help some.

    1. I'm a sucker for overstable putt & approach.
    2. I'm a sucker for glow-in-the-dark.
    3. I'm a fan of the StayPut Alpas.
    4. ???
    5. The Divergent Golem!!!!

This is basically a Zone/Harp-style approach disc with a uniquely rubbery feel and little-to-no ground play. I was surprised at how rigid the Golem feels in-hand, as I also have the Alpas which is FAR floppier. True to numbers, it pulls the moment it leaves your hand and has a reliable bite at the finish. However, because of the StayPut blend, when it contacts an object (tree, ground, chains, partner) it essentially transfers momentum and stops dead. This has quickly become my favorite approach disc.

Also, for fellow glow fans, the Divergent Glow (or at least the Golem) seems to be second only to AxioMVP Eclipse 2.0 in terms of brightness and retention. Very bright from only minimal charging.

The glow is surprisingly good, very bright and long lasting. With my particular UV flashlight, it was better than TSA or Kastaplast glow, and second only to MVP eclipse 2.0. The disc itself feels like a silicon zone, but is firm enough to forehand reliably. It's significantly more overstable than a zone and tends to just dump out, fall almost straight down and stick instead of fading like a zone would.

In the practice field, I thought it was a weird disc with kind of an unsatisfying flight, and wasn't sure how useful it would be. But in actual rounds this thing turned out to be super useful. Any approach where the basket was on a steep slope, I found myself reaching for the golem because it so reliably sticks where it lands. Also it's capable of producing very compact flex shots because of how drastically overstable it is, so it's pretty sick for a short hole where you need to weave around trees.

Loved the feel when I got it and the flight was exactly what I was looking for. After 1 throw hitting grass it cracked starting at the lower rim 3/4 the way through the disc all the way through to the top of the logo. This wasn't even full power but a light upshot that hit nothing but tall grass. This disc unfortunately is a waste of $20. I had such high hopes for this disc.
