This Paul McBeth signature disc is similar to the popular Innova Destroyer in flight and feel. The Zeus is a go-to driver for power throwers looking for max distance and consistency. The Zeus has a fairly wide rim with a 2.3cm wing length. This is an excellent disc for both forehand and backhand throws for players who can handle the stability. The Zeus is also currently available in Discraft's Swirly ESP plastic.

Very underrated disc. My ESP Zeus has no dome and was straight off the shelf, if you are thinking of getting one, get it!

I always have one of these in my bag. You can really shape a line (RHFH) and get a lazer straigh shot when released well. The only negative I have omn this disc is it tends to be really flat or really domed. I prefer a flat so sometimes it takes multiple purchases to get the right one.

This Just Might Be The Best...

I throw about 350ft on a consistent basis. The Zeus has been an absolute BEAUTY to throw. It has such an easy and glorious flex with minimal effort. My most beat-in Destroyer is able to fly dead-straight and still have a good bit of bite to it at the end, and I'd probably rate it at 12 5 -1 2. My Zeus would probably fly more like a 12 5 -2 2... it truly is able to effortlessly soar just as far if not 30 feet farther than any other disc currently in my bag. I recently bought a Big Z Zeus, and it's definitely more of a traditional Destroyer kind of slot, but I think that it'll actually be really similar to my ESP version once it's fully beaten in. It truly is that good! If you're debating on getting one, just do it. I'm not a huge Discraft fan, but they nailed it with this one!

I really like this disc it's a great disc if you like the rim of the destroyer but don't like the over stability of it, it basically fly's like a beat in destroyer, it fades just as hard but turns over easier

I really like the plastic on this disc. This is overstable, but no so much that I have to throw anhyzer to get the flight I want.

I think this is Discraft's answer to the Innova's Destroyer and they did an alright job. For some reason the ESP plastic on this mold doesn't feel as soft as other molds. The edge is a little too sharp for me.

Other than that this disc can allow a lot of torque and power on it without flipping and if thrown with power, it will glide for days.

    Enjoy.

I would rate this disc a 4/5 and here's why. I love my Zeus don't get me wrong. However, after having this disc for over two years I've noticed a couple of things. For one, this is a lot flippier than my other drivers at a similar state of wear. Secondly, the glide is just not there compared to other drivers in this category.

Love the zeus. I tend to power drive. But this disc here has got me my furthest drive at 455ft with a slight hyzer. Definitely not beginner friendly. If you are a beginner stick with a lower speed disc until you develop your form and muscle for this disc.

This review will be very silmilar to my review for the Nuke. I have both and feel like they are almost identical except for the rim width of the Nuke being a bit wider.

Much like the beloved Destroyer, the Zeus does not fly as the numbers would indicate. This is a stable disc with very little to no turn for me (a 937 rated player). As a comparison, the Enigma has similar flight numbers but flies as the numbers would suggest. If I were to bag this disc (which I do not and it just sits in my garage), I would only use it with a decent headwind. As with all other discraft plastics, I find the ESP plastic inferior to other comparable plastics by competing manufacturers. It lacks the grip and feel that I love about Fuzion and Star plastic.

    174g Signature ESP

This disc basically became my Destroyer replacement. My first few throws sold me on this disc. Stays pretty level out of the hand. Follows the intended line for most of the flight before giving that trusty 3 fade.

Beginners should not even look at this disc until they've developed their form considerably.

Picked one up a couple of weeks ago on a whim and I have been really impressed with how this disc flies. It has the same flight numbers as a Destroyer from Innova but I have found mine to be quite a bit less overstable than my Star Destroyer, to the point that I have been able to get it to flip up a couple times on hyzer releases, which is not really in the picture for me with my Destroyer.

One thing to note is that the plastic is very flexible, so if you want a firmer flight plate you should look elsewhere. This also feels a lot more comfortable in my hand than my Destroyer, which I feel like might be on its way out of the bag in favor of my Zeus.

    It's okay.

You can bomb this thing, but you have to have an arm. I have a 173g Zeus and a 174g Destroyer and they fly almost identically. Less glide IMO for the Zeus.

The Zeus feels fantastic in the hands. I can't get the Zeus to do what I want it to do, I may have a very overstable mold. I'm going to need to throw a few missiles into "first available" to get this thing less stable.

This is a very good overstable distance driver that has a very similar flight and feel to a Destroyer. Although, I do find that these have less glide than most Destroyers I have thrown. As such, I don't reach for these for max distance, but they are great for predictable drives in the wind.

    175g ESP Zeus

This disc is like it is described. Definitely gives that destroyer vibe for the discraft organization. I really like this disc for flex shot trying to get max distance. I prefer this disc for mainly backhand drives, but I have been attempting to see how it adds to my forehand games. I feel like this disc can be a really good approach forehand shot for me within 200ft. This is a really good spike hyzer disc for me as well. This disc in ESP feels really comfortable in my hand which I really like for drivers. I think this disc is pretty good, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who doesn't have their form figured out or the arm speed to throw it.

I wanted one of these for months and finally was able to pick one up and loved the feel. When I took it out for my first round I was expecting a meat hook style flight so I put a little anhyzer on it and watched it fly away out of bounds. I was able to get the disc back but learned a lesson. It is a phenomenal disc but really only for intermediate to advanced players. Beginners will tend to not have the arm speed necessary to really rip this disc and get the correct flight out of it. I bag two right now and both are great for the s-curve flight that get max distance. This is my go to for absolute power shots when I have a wide open fairway and can get a full flight out of it. I would recommend this disc to anyone especially strong arms that can get the full potential.

Zeus, Destroyer, Cloud Breaker, carrying the Destroyer for the time being, find it to be a little easier to handle then the other two.  All 3 real similar, so might depend on the day for me.  I throw a 175g.  Nice smooth flight, with gentle fade at end for me.  Let rip and go.....

    Discraft Zeus - ESP Plastic

Like many I assume, I found this disc because of Paul Mcbeth. I was excited to try it out but I have to say it is not super beginner friendly. I am just now really getting into disc golf after playing super casually for a few years. I am starting to get the technique down but my arm speed is quite where it should be for this disc. Now as far as the factors outside of my skill, I love this disc. The ESP plastic is by far my favorite plastic from Discraft. I love the feel and it just feels comfortable in my hand. As far as the mold goes, I like it fits nicely in my hand and its pretty comfortable to throw. I can't really say much about the disc speed, glide, turn, and fade ratings because I don't have the arm to throw this disc as it is intended. But I will say that I'm looking forward to throwing this disc as I improve.

Overall, I would say I'm happy with the disc. I love everything about it, but it is just not beginner friendly.

Very similar to the Innova Destroyer. Holds hyzer line, nice s-curve if you put the correct angle and spin on it. Getting more and more stable as I break it in (throw at tree). Can throw it 400+ most of the time on RHBH and 350+ RHFH.

The Discraft Zeus is a great distance driver and it is one of my go to discs when it comes to launching a disc. I love discs with a -1 turn and a 3 fade, I have 4 different ones to be exact, and the Zeus is my favorite of those 4 discs. For my main drive for the most part I use a forehand but with my Zeus it is a confidence booster for my backhand.

The Zeus is a fantastic disc. I didn't have the arm speed for it when i originally bought it but as my form progressed and it got broken in, i learned to love it. It flies like a more overstable version of my Star Destroyer. Does pretty decent in a headwind and its stability allows you to really rip on it pretty hard without worry. I use it for both backhand and sidearm and would recommend to anyone looking for a beefy version of a Destroyer.

Disc - 173 Swirly ESP Zeus

Feel - The Zeus has a fairly wide rim being a 12 speed driver but for the speed it is very comfortable. Almost identical profile to the destroyer in my opinion but I like the new ESP plastic more than any Innova plastic blends. It fits well in the hand for both backhand and forehand grips.

Flight - Many people are comparing the Zeus to the destroyer and I would agree with that statement whole heartily. The one that I have is fairly flat and flies like a decently stable destroyer for me. I can get a nice hyzer flip up to a bit of turn but it always finishes back nicely. I definitely like the flight of the Zeus but just because it is harder to get than a destroyer and didn't seem to do anything different than a destroyer for me it didn't make my bag.

Overall - I definitely think the Zeus is a great disc but it is very similar to the innova destroyer or the dynamic discs raider but is harder to get due to its recent release and Mcbeths immense popularity.

I know that there is a stigma about overstable fast speed discs being terrible for beginners, so many beginners stay away from them. I have had a great relationship with the Zeus and I have only been playing for three months. It is my go to Distance Driver. I have a hole on my course that I have to throw right around some trees across a Canal and have it finish left next to the basket. This disc is picture perfect for that. I don't do anything fancy, I focus on throwing it flat with my wrist down and it does exactly what I need it to. I can trust this disc more than any other disc in my bag. When you first throw it, you realize that it comes out of your hand FAST. But don't let that intimidate you. Throw it in a field for a couple of days and you will get used to it. I love the Zeus! I can't ignore the fact that it also has incredible color designs in this ESP plastic.

It's most comparable to a Raptor Destroyer, just a generally overstable distance driver for most players. At top level play, they're a bit more flippy, but in reality, they're a more expensive alternative to Star Destroyers or Dynamic Discs Raiders. If you don't mind the McBeth Premium, it's a great disc!

The Zeus is a great disc for the more intermediate to advanced player. When thrown flat, you can expect a fairly straight flight with an overstable finish. Where I think that the Zeus really shines is when you throw it on a slight anhyzer. The Zeus when thrown on an anhyzer will stay dead straight the hole way and land fairly soft for a distance driver. The Zeus is also a great disc for those shots where you have to have a big hyzer bomber. If you are not throwing this disc as an advanced or intermediate player, you have to give one a try.

    Disc: 171g ESP Zeus

The ESP Zeus is an overstable, high speed distance driver with good glide and a consistent fade. It's very similar to a McBeth Star Destroyer, so I'll try to hit on the differences rather than the similarities.

Most notably, the Zeus is more domey than Destroyers and has a slight "pop-top". This doesn't change the feel in the hand much for me, but it might for some. From my experience, the Zeus has slightly more glide than the McBeth Destroyer, and it is also slightly more overstable.

This may be personal preference, but I find Discraft's ESP plastic to be slicker than Innova's Star plastic. Additionally, Discraft embosses words like "Zeus" and "PDGA Approved" on the inside of the rim in 5 places. I don't really mind it, but I could see it making the grip less comfortable for some people.

Lastly, the ESP Zeus looks amazing! The swirls, colors, and stamps that Discraft has put on this disc are absolutely incredible. So if a good looking disc gives you an extra boost of confidence, the Zeus might be for you.

Overall, the ESP Zeus is an incredibly similar disc to the McBeth Star Destroyer, which makes a lot of sense since they were designed for the same person. Although there are subtle differences between them, I don't think you'd go wrong either way if you're looking for an overstable high speed driver.

    167g ESP Zeus

Just got this disc and still getting somewhat used to it and trying to break it in, but the initial impressions are good- this disc performs just how I hoped it would. Thick rim, domey top for some extra glide but not too domey. Feels comfortable in the hand, both forehand and backhand. This disc definitely has that 3 fade at the end of its flight which makes it very reliable and consistent. Discraft did a good job with this one, basically making their version of a Destroyer. There's a reason it's a hot release. Wouldn't recommend for beginners or slower arm speeds, needs a bit of power to throw and will probably be too overstable if you can't get enough speed on it.

This is one of my stock forearm distance drivers.  I was looking to branch out from a Destroyer and this had identical flight ratings so I picked one up from my local store.  This thing flys slightly more overstable than a Destroyer, but somehow holds anhyzer lines further than my Destroyer.  So good beefy overstable disc, but I prefer a Destroyer.

The ESP Zeus is basically Discraft's version of an Innova Star Destroyer.  I have a prototype version of the Zeus, and it's flight is almost identical to my Star Destroyer.  A lot of times if I'm throwing in a field, these two discs end up landing within feet of one another.  So I don't have a lot to say about this disc that I haven't already said about the Destroyer.  It's popular because of Paul McBeth, but like the Destroyer, this is also probably too fast of a disc for the majority of players out there.

Destroyers used to be my go to driver, but I feel like the flight numbers were so different disc to disc (I still carry a destroyer). The Zeus however, with my first couple so far, fly exactly how a Destroyer should straight out of the box and besides, it looks cool as well. This is my go to distance driver for for forehand and backhand drives. I can throw this disc as hard as I want and get some turn out of it, but it will always come back with that 3 fade. You always want your go to driver to be predictable and the Zeus definitely is.

Want a great overstable driver? This is the one. Less stable than a Force but can really fly. I throw this disc a lot and own quite a few of them. The Prototype is pretty overstable but the ESP is an amazing flyer and even after beating it in, amazing for Hyzer flip shots. If you need a great driver that isn't super overstable.... get this disc

Takes a good deal of arm speed and touch but when thrown right it goes. Slightly under stable out of the hand and flips nice and slow for a predictable long drive every time. This thing is awesome. I'm a big fan of Destroyers, and not to compare it to that, but it's flight is very similar. Very dependable fade but not too overstable. If I put it on an anhyzer line it holds for a bit before turning nicely in the end with that same fade as before. I've rarely bought a disc and it fly like this new.

For starters, I am not really a Discraft guy. Just something about the company rubs me the wrong way. Maybe it's that they seem to bully the sport by taking all of the best players and offering deals they can't refuse, even when it means ending their contracts 2 years early (cough cough, Paige Pierce). Anyway....

I won a tournament that was sponsored by Discraft and was able to purchase a few discs with my earnings, one of them which was the Zeus. I do enjoy using this when I need to trust the disc to finish left (RHBH), but I just simply don't get the distance and glide out of this that I do with other distance drivers I throw like my Shryke or my Trespass.

All in all, it's a good disc, and one that I will most likely keep in the bag (for now), but not sure how long it will stay there.
