I liked the disc for the few throws I got before losing it. Seems pretty true to numbers and was comfortable in my hands. Went straight for me every single time! It's a shame they're hard to find these days.

I'm still learning how to throw this disc. When I first got it, it flew really straight for me which I loved. But then I gained some arm speed and stated to overpower it and make it turn into the ground with too much speed. I feel like I'm coming back to the disc now though and just taking a bit of arm speed off. When I do that, it goes really straight.

Having said all that, I rarely use this disc for driving but I love it for long approach shots as I can get it to do almost whatever I want. So for driving, I'd go with a different control driver, but for approach shots, I'd go with it.

The XL from Discraft is an outstanding fairway driver. This is a disc that can give you a variety of lines: soft hyzers, flip up to straight, turnover, and even rollers. It is a nice disc for beginners, as it will give them a stable disc capable of some good distance, and stronger arms can use it for more technical shots. This disc does have some dome to it, but it was still comfortable in hand. Overall, just a great disc.

The Discraft XL Elite X (174g) is a solid driver.  I have experimented with it and I like how it flies.  Unfortunately, I have other discs that do everything the XL will do.  For others the XL might fill a void for a solid, stable (but not too overstable) driver, but for me the XL is a bit redundant, especially since I am a big proponent of my XS, which is like a laser for me.

The XL is a good disc for learning how to throw backhands. It goes pretty straight right on the angle it is released and doesn't turn or fade too hard. After that, there isn't too much use for it. Honestly I can throw my roc's just as far now and once those get a little beat in they can fly just as straight. It's not extremely comfortable in my hand and I'm not sure if it's the plastic or the mold, but it just doesn't feel like it produces a high percentage of clean releases anymore. I would recommend it to someone who wants to learn to throw backhand as a great example of a driver that will teach you how to throw drivers, but I wouldn't recommend it to a competitive player who is looking for a straight flier.

Got this one in a discraft set as the distance driver. While it isn't the highspeed distance driver that one might expect, it still feels good and I like it for a straight fairway driver. Flies nicely with a hyzer and a little flip or a nice anhyzer with comeback finish.

I found an xl in the woods and I use the same one to this day. This disc flies so straight I am definitely getting another one.

Of any disc I've ever thrown this disc is one of the straightest flyers observed. Just the other day during a friendly pick-up round, I out drove my rival (who was throwing the new crank!) with my beat up elite X XL, proving the fact that the speed and size of the rim of a disc do not determine the max distance it can be thrown. This disc, when released flat with average arm speed, will fly dead straight. You can not exaggerate the word straight enough with this disc. The fade is so minimal that it makes the XL a perfect choice for that new player whose struggling to learn the in's and out's. I have above average arm speed. I will use this disc on wide open holes with lots of airspace. I release it with a good degree of hyzer and it will still manage to turn over and glide an incredible distance. If released properly, it will end up exactly straight ahead from where it was thrown, albeit using a very S curved flight path. A must have control driver which, to me, was a serious game changer when i discovered it.

I highly recommend the elite x XL for all beginners looking to add distance to their game. This disc paired with a comet will teach you the ins and outs of the game. Slow, smooth form is highly rewarded with these two discs and after you start speeding it up with the right form, these discs will only get better and your game as well! Straight, nice glide, and negligible fade.
