I really love this disc, and it immediately fit in my bag. I do not have the most powerful arm, and this 11 speed fit perfectly. The numbers on this disc are spot on, and the swirlyness these come in are spot on. This disc flies like a 13+ disc and you don't need a lot of power. Throw it flat and it will turn slightly right followed by a reliable fade. It get my furthest throws with this disc - 375'.

    I'd recommend this to anyone.

ESP - I bought this disc at my local DG store when I had some cash to blow. I had never thrown one before and decided to give it a shot. I throw around 350 for a good backhand throw and find this disc to go pretty much dead straight. I've found that if I need to throw a straight shot with very little fade at the end (while keeping it low) this is the disc I'm reaching for. I do tend to throw on a bit of a hyzer, but with that said I don't find this disc turning at all, it just goes straight. If I need a bit more fade, I reach for the Zeus. If I want forward skip with little fade, I throw the Surge SS.
Very pleasantly surprised with this disc, and feel it's one of those overlooked molds, unfortunately. I cannot comment about any other plastic type, as my only experience is with my bar stamp ESP.

I've purchased a few of these recently; different runs in different plastics.  First the limited edition ESP. All of the ones I purchased were stickered as 170-172.  All had an actual weight of 173 to 174. Flight-wise, I get almost no turn out of them, and a pretty heavy fade. Although they are the SS mold, they fly more like the standard Surge, in my opinion.

I've also purchased a number of the 2021 Ledgestone version, in Tour Z Swirl.  These were all listed as 170-172, and actual weight was in the 172 range. Flight-wise, these are much more true to the numbers.  I'd give the turn about -1 to -1.5.  Fades 2 for sure, but somewhat gently.  Exactly what I was hoping for in the SS.

As for grip, the Tour Z Swirl plastic borders on sticky, which is very surprising for Z plastic. Really, really nice feel. The limited edition ESP doesn't have the same grippiness. Good, but not as nice as the Z.

So my take is, if you're looking for the flight of a Surge, give the ESP a try, but if you want a disc that's truer to the SS numbers, then the Ledgestone Tour Z Swirl run is the way to go.
