The Mantis is a reliable fairway driver that was originally released as the 2013 Ace Race disc in Titanium plastic. This disc provides a straight flight path, comfortable feel, and excellent glide. The later runs have a lower profile and it is slightly more domey to make it easier to control with additional glide.

Everything you see here about the Ace Race Mantis being superior is absolutely true.

I received a misprint Mantis in a mysterybox and I enjoyed it. The thing really glides well and feels smooth on release. I got my furthest drive of 389 feet with this thing. However a slight headwind and she wants to turn and turn and turn.

After reading reviews I nabbed an ace race prototype because it was supposedly more OS. Yep, yep it is. The Mantis as currently composed finishes far more straight, I find that 2 fade to be an exaggeration. I have a Stalker bagged for those straight fairway shots.

I bumped my current Mantis for the prototype Mantis for the reliable healthy fade.

It's a nice disc in its current state, but it doesn't fill a role I need. It does have one of the better discraft stamps if you care about that sort of thing though.

3/5 as is, 5/5 for the proto!
