    P-Line Flex 2 Details

P-Line Flex 2 is a base plastic from Discmania that offers a balanced combination of grip, firmness, and durability. Compared to standard base blends, Flex 2 is more resistant to wear while still providing the tacky feel preferred by many players. This is the most neutral putter I have ever thrown. It is amazing! Holds any line I can put on it! Love this disc!

Not sure why this disc doesn't get more love.  It's basically a P2 with no fade.  Less resistance to wind, but it's glidey and straight.  Slow and super controllable. You can aim right at the basket, no matter how far out.

Not my favorite for drives and long approaches, but it's a slow controllable laser for putts and short approaches.

The P1 Maniac to me is like a Classic Grid Aviar but with better plastic options. It's feel in the hand is nearly identical and side by side I have a hard time telling the two apart. It has a comfortable beadless rim that is very well suited for my pitch/spin combo grip. My Test subject is a 171g P-line Maniac stamped P1 and the plastic feels very akin to the R-Pro plastic from Innova, some decent flex and excellent tacky grip even when cold.

The P1 as a thrower is pretty interesting, out of the box in P-line it hold a dead straight laser beam line under decent power and can be bent to any line you would like assuming you have the control to throw it. In the more flexible plastic it is hard to put a lot of power on this disc but it really isn't designed to be launched very far. As far as putting goes this disc is downright lethal if you have clean accurate releases. Outside the circle with a more spin focused putt this disc will not deviate off line it just keeps going until it hits chain or dirt and the glide is uncanny I've thrown more putts in from 60-70ft with this disc than any other (not that I get a lot of them, but those few that I did felt incredibly confident from that range). Closer to the basket in more of pitch style putt this disc does what your angle control tells it, so it is very much an surgeons tool if you have the finesse. Flicking the R-pro like plastic is weird, it just gives too much under pressure to get clean releases.

Where the P1 struggles is in windy conditions. This disc is very neutral and as such you don't have much stability to rely on in headwinds so be cautious or disc up to something more stable if you can and same goes for crosswinds. Tailwinds this disc seems pretty unphased for the most part but still, be cautious.

This putter is very beginner friendly, It is very neutral and will tell you exactly what is going wrong in your putting form. As an approach disc it will also work fairly well since it does what you tell it.

Overall the P1 is a really dang good putter just from versatility alone and then it is backed up by great plastic selections. My preference seems to lean more towards a totally neutral putter so I was not at all surprised to like this disc and when I have the spare funds I will probably pick up a couple more to complement my Classic Aviars for colder weather use. Accordingly 5/5 suits it well, it's hard to say something bad about a neutral putter, and assuming you bag something overstable for shorter approaches/head wind putts this Disc will suit you well.

I do believe that the P1 is Discmania's least popular putter. I'm not really sure why..it's pretty decent as far as putters go. I prefer my putters to have a nice bead on them, which the P1 does not have, but other than it feels pretty much like an Aviar in the hand.

Doesn't fly like an Aviar though. I was pretty surprised by how understable the P1 actually is. I'm a spin putter, so for putts 20 feet and in it was really, really straight. Anything farther out and I would see a little turn, just from putting. I really had a lot of trouble driving with it, but I think that might have been more me than the disc. This putter is straight to understable, and it's very good at that.
