This review is for the active premium plastic.

I rate this at 5 stars with zero hesitation. I have cycled a number of discs in and out of my bag over the past year. This is not one of them. This disc excels for two very particular shots. First it is great for a slow panning shot that needs to turn right and continue in that direction. Second, a hyzer flip with a late turn that moves right for the entire end of the flight. Once you learn your angle control, and know the proper amount of hyzer based on your speed, this disc is awesome. It has enough stability to be controlable if you can finesse a disc, but enough understability to guarantee a turn. If you enjoy a crisp snap with lots of power, look elsewhere. If you want an understable disc that you can learn to throw some smooth, amazing touch shots from 240-300 feet, this is a great option. Or, if you are simply learning the game, it is a great disc for a new disc. Not only will it stay in the air, but will teach you control.

I'm a huge fan of this disc. Throwing a long backhand  turnover shot is made easy with this disc. I bag an archangel by Innova for long turnover... works well with my arm speed, the problem is archangel only comes in DX plastic so it beats in very quick. With the Genius, you get the premium plastic option so consistency of flight never changes.

The Premium Plastic is not nearly as flippy as baseline.  At a lower power - it's an easy straight with a right finish disc. Good for touch shots where you want to finish a little to the right without having to throw very hard

This is a fantastic understable fairway driver. It has tons of glide, but a little bit of stability to not flip over and roll too easily. The plastic is also nice and durable. I am a fan of the discmania essence, but the plastic on that is a bit too gummy, so the Genius is perfect if you prefer something more like the C line plastic. The genius reminds me of the Innova tee bird as far as the mold and the feel in the hand, but a version that is much easier to turn over and shape lines through the woods. This is currently my go to understable fairway. Highly recommend

I use this as my main driver in the woods. Laser straight through trees and if you throw RHBH with enough power it will turn over for any baskets on the right. I prefer this over my leopard 3 when driving in the woods.

My son picked up this disc and I have played around with it a bit and it's a great understable fairway driver with a decent amount of glide. It's not as understable in the premium as you would think based on the numbers. You'd almost think a -4 would automatically turn into a roller every time, but I'd probably give this disc more of a -2.5 to -3. He used it on uphill shots when he wanted to hold that forward momentum without fading out too quickly. Word to the wise though, the review of the baseline version of this disc is completely contrary to this one. It's MUCH more understable than the premium. Like, not even the same disc!

The preimum plastic is very durable! It takes a licking and keeps on ticking!

The Genius is my go-to roller disc. Thrown flat, it will turn heavily and probably not flex back unless you get enough power/height behind it. It's worth noting that my first ever ace was with this disc! A nice flat/slightly anhyzer tee-off to a basket that was 288 feet away around a big tree. The disc turned perfectly towards the basket and left me lost for words when I heard the chains rattle. In addition to my one and only ace, I have also had my longest distance drive ever with this disc as well. Roller off the tee with a little wind help put this disc 520 feet down the fairway. Highly situational, in my opinion, but still a great disc.

I have this disc in Active Premium. Its a fun disc to hyzer-flip both forehand and backhand. I can get it out to 300 feet - at that distance it doesn't become an unintentional roller and it is pretty accurate despite its understability. In my opinion this is a better disc than both the River and the Hatchet which are my other understable fairway drivers.

I lost it eventually and maybe it was a bit too flippy to not be thrown away, it was fun while it lasted though.

Holy cow this thing is flippy, even in Premium plastic! Every time I did a full power throw there was about 75% more turn than fade at the end. Also a few accidental rollers. I'd say its a solid disc to start working on distance (for the newbies), but for more experienced golfers you may have a hard time working with this disc at first. I bag a Roadrunner so I don't need a super flippy disc, but that doesn't mean this disc didn't meet expectations! Go give one a try!
