The Crave is the first driver in the Axiom Line. This moderate speed fairway driver is described as a seasoned MVP Servo. The Crave is one of the straightest flying fairway drivers in the market. It totes a slower speed, but don't let it fool you, as it goes far. It provides a torque resistant, but straight flight suitable for backhands or forehands. Most MVP made discs are relatively flat, and the Crave is no exception.

So many are fooled by this disc "it feels like a mid but goes as far as a fairway" but this is not a 6.5 speed, in fact, acording to the pdga page its an 8-speed or a faster 7-speed (1.8 cm). However, it is very straight, accurate to the numbers, and does go pretty far.

174 gram Axiom Crave Plasma plastic. Solid neutral fairway driver. It is flat with no dome, very easy to control, and can do a lot. There are other good options with a similar flight but none significantly better than the Crave.

I find these to have more fade then a 1 maybe like 1.5 or a 2. They have such a great straight flight path when released flat from backhand and forehand. Amazing discs to have in the bag from beginner to expert.

I can't say enough good things about this disc. It flies so effortlessly for me for a variety of shots. Short, accurate hyzer shots. Driven, flat shots into the wind. Touchy tunnel shots and so many more shots are easy to throw with this disc. Low to average arm speed players will love this disc for the versatility it brings to your bag. Can't wait to try the Fission Crave next!

It took me a while to get into the Crave, but now it's a staple in my bag now because simply put, it's easy to put this disc where I want it anywhere under 325'.

If thrown flat it turns, then fades, and winds up on the same line I threw it on. Thrown on a mild hyzer it holds it the whole time. Thrown with a nose down sky anny and you get a big high turn with slight flattening out at the end. Thrown for max distance with hyzer flip the thing will sail. I don't have a huge arm but I can get the crave out to 375' if I want (but at that point I'm going to use my Wave or something similar that doesn't take so much effort.)

One of the really nice things about this disc is the glide. It's great for low ceiling tree lines and getting a good shape without having to go too high.

I use the Crave in both Eclipse (169g) and Plasma (174g) plastic. The Eclipse one turns a lot more due to the light weight, however it's great during glow play and nice to use a glow disc that is also in my regular bag. The plasma being a bit heavier gives me more push and less turn, which is fine for this disc.

If you want something that kind of flies like a Leapord but doesn't turn and burn so hard, the Crave is a disc that might be what you're looking for.

I got my Crave in Plasma plastic at 173g.  I'm a new player with less than 50 rounds under my belt, so this review is from a beginner's perspective.

The Crave has a low and sleek profile that feels great to my hand and lets me rip it confidently.   I am able to consistently get good distance and maintain a lower flight with this disc, so I use it all the time when I need to stay under trees for longer approaches or have low canopy tee shots.  I don't have the arm speed to carry it super far on a straight line, but I can keep it on a nearly straight line for ~200-225 feet before the fade kicks in.  The fade is very consistent and that makes it easy for a beginner to achieve the shot shape I'm picturing.  I don't really use it for turnover shots as I still need a little more understable disc to make those happen.

I only have the Plasma plastic so I can't compare flight across the plastic blends, but I can say that the Plasma is very durable and feels great.  I have absolutely lasered this thing into the nearest tree several times and I can't even tell which side of the disc made contact when I pick it up.

I just got a 173g Plasma Crave and I've got to say I absolutely love this disc. I had been searching for a replacement for my Prime Emac Truth (beats up too easily & Lucid and Fuzion plastic just fly different) and this thing fits the bill. Flat top, thin rim, and a narrow profile. I can throw this thing laser straight with surgical precision out to about 275' before it has a nice forward fade. It has an easy, clean release and can handle a lot of power.

So, the Plasma plastic. Wow. It's a little gummy, very attractive with the metallic swirls, and grips really well.

The flight is how you would want it to be, a tiny bit of turn, a mild fade and some really nice glide going straight for a long time.

Mine is blue with a pink rim and they are really easy to find, as well as looking great.

Anyone could use these, but if you throw 275-350 it would be a great fairway driver for straight to fade, and as you gain power you see some more turn.

I've heard Plasma beats in faster than others, but this one has held up really well so far.

I have now had 3 Axiom Craves and they are my primary driver off the tee. This disc is so useful. Thrown flat it just goes straight with a very mild fade. This disc is so easy to use and I use it to shape so many different lines. I have had both Plasma and Neutron but the Plasma is definitely my favorite.

The only time this disc has any issues is when there is a headwind. It does not like a headwind!

    4/5

This one has split personalities. One of them is fantastic, the others are doing things like painting with spaghetti, cooking crayons or waving celery in your face at a furniture store. Like, the back corner of Ikea. Nowhere near the food court.

Seriously though, it’s worth picking one up. I bought a 165 Metal Flake Proton and a 156 Proton for my girlfriend as gifts, and she loves them. She can get them out past 250’ easy—without taking a single step. Needless to say, I was inspired, so I picked a couple up myself. I grabbed a 152 Plasma and a 168 Proton (UPDATE: I also snagged a 170g Neutron since writing this; it has become a workhorse disc for hilly courses.)

I still haven’t figured out the Proton, despite throwing heavier L64 Falchions like I’m paid to. The Proton flies less glidey and more fadey than these numbers suggest; the Neutron flies pretty true to them. The Plasma throws like a dream, but gets sassy sometimes if I'm not consistent with followthrough angles. In any case, keep the nose down & you'll be satisfied; if not, well, you'll have an excellent teacher with this mold. I can get the lightweight Proton out consistently further than any weight Innova Beast I own, which is almost twice as fast a disc.

The thing I’m continually impressed with is how long this disc will flip to flat and ride consistently and straight. Kind of like it's more understable, but nothing about it thrown on anny, flex or flat lines suggest the same.

Nonetheless, If you just started and have begun to work out your Off-Axis Torque, this disc will give you excellent distance while you still work on controlling your power. If you’re working on spin or level release, it’s an excellent teacher. It can ride an understable line all the way to the dirt if you spin it smoothly enough, but it can also fade out of the way of an obstacle or hazard if hyzered. I do not consider this to be a reliable scramble disc, but I do like it for brief rolls. If you compete, it’s a formidable tool for great, straight distance without having to wear your arm out and if you are just moving past absolute beginner, “nothing but putter” work, it’s a very highly recommended first driver, in my opinion.

Personally, I prefer to throw it backhand, as it seems to really tell me what's going on with my spin, but my sidearm game isn’t the greatest and it’s pretty forgiving of that, too.

If you’re a fan of the L64 Falchion, Innova Mako3, DD Maverick, DM Craze, Prodigy F3 or Axiom Wrath, give it a shot, but I would recommend you try to find friends with different plastic versions of it to try, first. I’m convinced that the plastic changes the flight significantly in this particular mold. If you find it doesn't fade enough for you, but you like the rest of its flight, grab an MVP Servo, instead.

Axiom Crave is my go to fairway driver.

I can always rely on the crave for whatever line I want to put it on, and I always know that it will finish left. I call this my touch disc. I can flip it very easy, hyzer, and great for forearm throwers too. Love this disc!

I'm not sure what they sprinkled into this disc to make it so magical, but I'm very greatful for it.

Despite it's neutral numbers, this thing can take a load of power and glide an amazing amount of distance for its speed. It does fly a little slow out of the hand, but that makes it very controllable through tight gaps. With the disc being low profile, it also stays relatively low to the ground, allowing great accuracy when facing low ceilings.

I'm so impressed with the Crave. Sometimes the glide carries it a little too far, which is a great problem to have. When I load this thing up with a lot of speed, it holds straight and comes to rest around 400ft. Even though I KNOW it's going to glide a mile, I'm still continually impressed when it does.

Right now, the Volt + Crave combo is becoming a workhouse tandem that can tackle just about any shot on any course.

The crave is a great fairway disc, it's definitely not very fast, but it can get some surprising distance. Put a lot of speed on it and it flies super straight, take some off and it goes through a really nice s-curve.

This is a disc that is great for shorter distances, or tight tree-lines. Honestly anything from 180-230 feet, it definitely can go farther, but that is probably it's best distance.

This disc is also a pretty decent forehand thrower, it has a small rim, but can really get some nice distance. I've used it to get out of some awful brush/tree-lines, and it works like a champ.

I think it'd be perfect for a beginner that doesn't have a ton of power, or an intermediate that is looking for a disc that can be more utility/control shots.
