The sol (breeze) is the only flippy mid I can trust. I know "trust" and "understable" don't normally go together but these are SO understable it's almost a guarantee it won't hyzer even at a big hyzer angle and 60% power. Always flips and turns, pushes forward beautifully and is extremely controllable. God bless blunt edged discs, this one deserves a spot on the hall of fame.

I think everyone have a flippy midrange. The Sol is smooth like butter. It gently fades to the right.

The Sol is smaller diameter, slower speed, shallow rimmed mid.  This mold thrives in tight technical fairways.  They're easy to put on an anhyzer line or hyzerflip straight, but require little more finesse to hold a hyzer line.  I don't necessarily trust them in windy conditions, especially into a headwind.  Additionally, they tend to get squirrellier when the nose angle is down or when my arm speed is cranked up.

Cons aside, this is a really fun mold to throw.  Beginners will like the low-speed glide and overall throwability. Advanced players will appreciate the Sols ability to hold lines in dense wooded fairways.  I pair Sols with Buzzes.  They make a great 1-2 punch!

I bought one of these for my son who at the time was 10 years old. I figured it would be a good starter disc for him. We have a few old baskets at our house and regularly play pitch and putt games to practice. While giving him lessons on how to throw is when I began to notice how great of an approach disc this is. Long story short... I bought one for myself in Z-Plastic and have been using it when I have touchy approaches to the basket of 100-200'. I used to use my putter, but did not get the glide I do with the Sol and it is effortless to throw those touchy approaches!  When you are smooth on your throws you can do so many shots with this disc within 200'. Backhand hyzers or anhyzers and even anyhzer flicks when you're stuck behind a tree on wooded courses. Just don't overpower it and you'll be surprised how many times you'll end up reaching for it during your rounds!

The Sol is a unique disc. It has a pretty small diameter for a midrange, and feels almost putter like in the hand. It flies very understable out of the box and can be used to throw late turning hyzer flips, big turnovers, and even rollers. Unfortunately for me the Sol just feels weird in my hand, so I have never felt really comfortable with the disc. Also, the run of z plastic I got the Sol in feels extra hard and slick, making it difficult for me to trust it on touchy shots, which are kind of the whole reason I wanted to try this disc. I can certainly see the potential in this mold, and might revisit it down the line and try it in esp plastic.

This mid is amazing for beginners. If you don't throw far, this will go straight for you. As you develop better arm speed, you can use this to shape some amazing shots. Was my first turnover disc.

The Z-Line Sol is a staple in my bag. It is perfect for controlled backhand turnover shots. I started with a 160 gram Sol, and I found it was a little too under stable for my liking - it would turn immediately and streak toward the ground with only 60% power when I threw a backhand (RH). To remedy this, I got a 173-gram Sol and found it was the perfect disc for midrange hyzer-flips and easily shapeable RHBH turnover shots. I use it frequently for drives, approach shots, and even long putts in windy conditions. The Sol will always have a place in my bag.

The Sol is an excellent choice for beginners that struggle with the forehand throw, as I did, because of how easy it is to turn over.

In theory I love this disc. It feels like an understable Zone to me but with more glide. For some reason it didn't quite click with me BUT I also didn't quite click with the zone which is also a great disc. I feel like this has a spot in a lot of peoples bags as that understable compliment to the Zone for upshot's.  Between these two discs you can cover A LOT of shots.

I have a Z-Line Sol that I have absolutely been loving to throw. The Sol has quickly become a workhorse disc for me. This disc really shines for hyzer flips and shots that need to fly dead straight or have right forward-pushing finish (for my right hand backhand throw). The challenge for me when throwing the disc is to remind myself not to try and overthrow it, with the extreme glide and understability of the disc it does not require a ton of power to make it fly. I find that it really is pretty effortless to throw.

I like the durability of the Z-Line plastic and throwing this disc on more wooded courses and thankful for the durability as it has met its fair share of trees! My one knock on the Z-Line plastic would be it is a little slick in the had which I am thinking about especially as we are getting into colder weather now.

I would highly, highly suggest this disc to any beginners or who feels like they do not have the power to step up to higher speed discs but is looking to push their throwing distances out, or alternatively those with more power but are looking for a disc that they can shape shots throw tight gaps. The Sol is a great disc!

I've had the Sol for about 2 months now, but hadn't used it much until today. Originally I got it to practice my forehand with an understable disc; it works pretty well as a forehand disc, but it's a little harder to learn a forehand with it than, say, the Zone. Today I threw it backhand for the first time at my local par 3, using it for all my drives and longer fairway shots.

By hole 5 I dinged the center pole and narrowly missed my first ace. Still, birdie isn't bad, and I'm certainly not complaining. This thing is the perfect tool for learning to hyzer flip. Once you dial it in it's an insanely versatile disc, and frankly, the dialing part didn't take me very long.

I can understand why it's not for everybody, but I recommend everybody try it at least once. I doubt I'll ever play again without one.

I find this disc hard to believe when it flies. I got it used but it was essentially only field tested but I felt like it flew like a well-worn disc. The disc is truly understable wit ha lot of glide, you can throw it on some hyzer and watch it flip up and over during the entire flight and not just at the beginning of the flight as understable discs normally do. You can get some big distance with any arm speed out of this disc!

My one issue with the disc which is the only reason I am not bagging the disc is because of the size. The disc is larger than normal and I have small hands, it felt very large and uncomfortable in my hand.

The SOL has a special place in my bag. It's the first and only disc I've aced with (Bailey Rd Park, Charlotte, NC hole #6). I use this disc for RHBH shot's that I need to bend to the right. It holds the anhyzer line better than any disc I've thrown. This disc absolutely will hold any line you put it on. It is a tool to help you figure out quirk's if you're throwing another disc that's not doing what you want it to, and can't figure out what you're doing wrong.

    Z Line Sol

Very understable - I think the numbers are accurate. This disc fills the spot in my bag for some unique shots, but I end up using it often. You can throw it very slow and it will hold a straight line with hardly any fade for touch shots. I use it for downhill tunnel shots that I need to go straight that I can only throw soft. For general throws, it takes some practice for control, but it will definitely turn to the right without dumping. If you add any power you need to practice the correct hyzer angle so there is a learning curve.

Overall, great disc to have in the bag for some unique throws. The only potential problem is that the glide is very good. There are times where I try to finesse a shot toward the basket and it glides way too far. Once you feel comfortable with the disc, it is nice to bag.

Great easy throwing US mid. Smaller diameter makes for easy grip. This is very much like the OOP gavel. Holds lines really well just don't over cook it.

This is an absolutely great disc for any new player looking to play a casual round or is just getting into disc golf. The sol is very understable when you learn how to throw well and it teaches you to throw the correct way. It will be perfectly understable to give new players a flight that does not just dump right away. But the sol is not just a beginner disc. You can shape so many shots with the sol as a more advanced player and you will found a midrange that can be worked in so many situations. You see some top pros like Paige Pierce love this disc and there is a reason. I love the small hyzer flip up with some anhyzer late fade that this disc can produce. It won't dump to the right when it flips, but it will slowly keep turning and won't have a late fade back. I think the sol is a disc a lot of newer players will fall in love with and more skilled players will find surprisingly good. The sol is a disc that fills a slot I bet a lot of players have in their bag without realizing it. You can get some really nice controlled straight shots if you power down a little and even get it on nice gliding hzyers with very little power. I think the sol is a very underrated disc that a lot more people should look at getting.

I got this disc about a year ago, looking for something that was going to fade right for me. This disc works on and off for me. I have to throw it on a good amout of hyzer to fly well. Nothing wrong with this disc at all, just thrower error. I have now learned to throw other discs the way I was hoping this disc would fly.

Found this disc and kept it in my bag! Great disc for beginners, as most understable mids are. Doesn't take much power or snap to get this disc flying, more experienced players need to dial it back or make sure they have a super smooth release otherwise this disc just flips and that's the end. I couldn't get this disc to hyzer flip fairly consistently, got it to finish on a hyzer a couple times when I slowed it down and gave it some height, but really enjoyed it for turnover lines. This disc held some on the smoothest annies outside of my beat up wizard. The turn was about as predictable as the fade on a more stable disc, and thus could be thrown to the left of the basket with enough room to work back right

I got my Sol during the 2018 Ace Race. It was my first true understable midrange and taught me a ton about why everyone needs an understable midrange in their bag. At first it was a nice midrange that I could easily turnover when thrown with any sort of power which made it great for any dogleg shots. As I improved my arm speed, it quickly became way to understable to drive with any sort of power. However, I do still have it in my bag and use it often for tight woods courses. I throw predominately backhand, so anytime I need something to finish right, I can throw this out with a little hyzer and it will turn over and glide quickly to the right before eventually spiking into the ground. It can also be a fun roller disc. When thrown correctly, you can easily get 400'+ out of a roller with this pretty straight.

The Sol is a great disc for players of all skill levels! Throw it like a putter and watch it glide as far as s fairway driver. Give it a little air and you can get great controllable flex shots with no effort!

The SOL fills the understable midrange slot in my bag. I have a 170g Z-line SOL. I would compare it closely to the Meteor, but for slower arms. Very beginner friendly. For me this makes a great "layup" disc when outside of comfortable putting range (or facing an otherwise risky putt) with a straight line to the basket. It will land near the basket without going too far with a moderate throw. Nice addition to the lineup of Discraft understable discs, although they do have many good choices in this category - Stratus, Meteor, Glide, Archer, Buzz SS, Comet... all worth trying out.

This is a great understable disc.  In z plastic it added a tick of stability and some dome from the ace race plastic which was a very different blend that seemed to feel more like pro D than ESP.  For shots that need to glide right I can throw the sol flat with a good amount of pace.  A later turn right I will throw with some hyzer but hit the disc a bit harder.  Pure straight shots get more hyzer.

For those who say this disc turns and burns, it's probably because they have an ace race run or are throwing with some of access torque.  I used to throw with off access torque and blame it on a disc, but thrown cleanly this disc flies great.  Today I hyzer flipped one of my Sols between 300 and 320.  Also makes a great patent pending disc.

Rim is smaller and low profile like a speed 4 but has a pretty aerodynamic wing and flies just as far as my speed 5's.

Currently my favorite mid, although I use it more as an approach disc. Anything inside 250 ft. It is very workable and it easy to throw for those touch shots.  I don't use it for longer mid range shots as it is very understable, but thrown at lower power it works magic.
