The Anax (pronounced "Onyx") is Paul McBeth's new signature fairway/power driver. This 10-speed driver will fight the wind and stay straight down the fairway before a nice fade at the end. Slower arm speeds will find this disc to be very reliable for shorter fairway drives. Big arms can expect big distance out of the Anax.

Discraft continues to crush it with their Big Z graphics; I love this one. I got this to act as a complement to my Firebird and found it to be so useful that when I lost one to a very poorly placed lake, I bought a new one THE SAME DAY to make sure it was in the bag. I only use this for forehands but it works very well for shots that I want the overstability of the Firebird for but I need a bit more glide before the fade kicks in. For most players I think this disc would get an extra 25-50ft. of distance with a less severe finish compared to a Firebird or Raptor.

Great overstable disc. you need some solid power to get the proper flight out of this disc and to a beginner its just going to be a meat hook. works great for those shots that you got to throw forehand that aren't quite doable with an anny shot. also works great as a flex high speed driver as you really can't flip this over.

I've got the Anax in both Big Z and ESP so I'll review for both.

I loved my Big Jerm Thunderbird but I just wanted it to fly a bit further, the ESP Anax does just that. It holds what ever line you put it on for a very long time and then has a hard penetrating fade, but the added glide is the key to this discs brilliance.

The Big Z one is an different animal. Noticeably more overstable and doesn't glide quite as much as the ESP. I find it very similar to a Sexton Firebird but glides a bit more. It's also very skippy compared to the ESP. That being said I bag both for their minute differences. Big fan.

The perfect overstable fairway. It throws almost exactly like a vulture but with a noticeably larger amount of fade. With full power it flips just enough to get a slight flex and fades hard almost like a firebird. The glide is most definitely a 6, floats a lot more than a vulture.
