The Libra by XCom Discs is a neutral speed-11 distance driver with only a slight end-fade. It is a great choice for intermediate players who want a controllable distance driver for quality flight and not too much side-to-side movement.

My Flight Ratings: 11/4.5/-1/2 Not Beginner Friendly Throwing Distance: N/A Straight Score: N/A

I field-tested the Libra against a few other discs with the same flight numbers, and found that it pretty much matches the numbers, except it kept ending up shorter than others, so I gave it a bit less glide. Interestingly, it didn’t take too many throws (headwind and tailwind) to realize that its XCom sibling, the Leo, was also much more similar to the Libra than its flight numbers suggested. The Leo would stay straight a bit longer for me and had a more subdued fade angle at the end than the Libra (and again, had more distance). Seeing that they’re not as different as the listed flight numbers indicate, I don’t know that one would need to have both of them; and between the two, I'd recommend the Leo over the Libra.

The Libra feels OK in the hand, releases fine for me, and produces a decent overall flight. I just got my first few discs in the Mars grade and only just started field testing them, so I can't say yet how durable it may prove to be. I have been enjoying the look and feel of the Mars plastic so far, although unfortunately, I think it kind of failed with the Libra: It's more of a clear, pale disc, and what normally would give it a bit of a contrasting, marblized pattern just ends up making this disc look kind of drab and splotchy. I think it’s of note that while I found each of my slower-speed, Mars-plastic discs had a bit of flashing on the underside of the inner rim (not too bad and there were segments without it, too), I haven’t noticed any flashing on these two 11-speed drivers; so that’s a plus. I think the stability, speed, and lower glide of the Libra makes this a less likeable/usable disc for beginners, unless they’ve already got a decent forehand.
