Updated review: I just had to come back and update this review. After throwing the Warhorse for about a year, I can truly say it's my favorite distance driver. I'm 50 years old and I have a bad knee from years of playing Ulitmate Frisbee so I can't throw backhand anymore. I'm a forehand only thrower, I generate a lot of torque and power from the tee and average 350' with this disc, having maxed at 503. When I first got this disc I used it for flex lines, but after spending some time really getting to know and throw this thing, I now throw it primarily flat. It will sizzle through the air regardless of how strong the winds are and hit a long straight line before fading out hard. For me that fade wall is at about 300 feet with a throw of 70 percent power. Once you get used to how the disc works with your power, you know exactly how the story will end. Very predictable, very reliable. The problem with this disc is it is out of production. If you want one, you'll have to get one off ebay. I've purchased 5 in a year and unfortunately, I lost 2 of them (which made me sad). I can tell you, when someone finds your Warhorse in the woods, chances are they'll keep it. I currently am throwing a new Warhorse that I've been beating in for a few months. I have a new backup and a used backup that is severely beat in. The really beat-in Warhorse STILL will not turnover. When released flat, it will roll up into an anny...so when I need to flex it I release it flat. When I want it to go straight and far, I release it with a baby hzyer. Unlike a beat-in Nuke or Destroyer, a beat-in Warhorse will not suddenly go flying off to the left and not come back. Regardless how old it gets, it's a beef boy at heart. So to sum it up, if you have powerful throw, the Warhorse is for you. And even after you hit every tree in the forest over a few years, it will still fly true. I hope Westside brings this disc back. In the meantime, I'm trying to get used to the Westside Adder. (better on the wallet).

As a person who absolutely loves throwing flex forehands, I love the Warhorse. I got it in VIP plastic and it feels great in the hand. It will give you a full flight well under 300' (if it wants to ??) ...and it is a surprisingly reliable and predictable approach disc. I also like to throw the Westside Anvil for flex approach shots, but the Warhorse will cut even harder. It will surgically flex around anything that separates you from the pin.

This disc. Starts off as a meat hook, thats for sure.. However, once you beat this in it does hold a line a lot longer before it begins to fade..  I backhand and forehand this disc, it works great both ways. With a nice wide rim tgis makes a great skipper disc as well, works great for cutting around tight corners on a course. For extra distance release it on a nice anhyzer and it'll work out flat and still manage to fade nicely at the end.

This is the Enforcer Pro. I keep one in the bag that never gets thrown, except for when I need some kind of outrageous flex or spike hyzer into a headwind. A true utility driver.

This disc is an absolute meathook! If you have a huge arm like 500+ power or are looking for a disc that will handle headwinds and laugh at them then this is the disc for you.

This is a Beefy disc!!!!  Wide rim, has a dissent amount of glide and will skip a good distance..  if your looking for a disc to hook a corner this is it..  makes a nice forehand disc as well..  If you have ever thrown a Latitude 64 trident this is even more over stable than that disc..

First of all, if you're reading this and looking for your first set of discs, drop the device you're reading this on, burn it, and drive 5,000 miles away from the nearest War Horse. You'd score better at disc golf throwing a rolled-up area rug than this thing. If you're at the point where you understand what different types of discs do, then buckle up because the War Horse is the beefiest slab of meat you'll ever throw that isn't a joke disc like the Stego. And for the role that the War Horse is designed for, it is absolutely exquisite. I've thrown the 170g First Run VIP War Horse and the flight numbers are dead on. It has some serious zip on it, and once it decides flight time is over, it is OVER. At least when it's new, if it's coming down with any sort of height you're blasting in at a 90 degree angle a lot of the time. As for the feel, ymmv but for MY forehand grip, this is the best feeling driver I've laid hands on. And speaking purely superficially, War Horse is hands down the baddest name for a disc out there, and the stamp art is as cool as the name. I've found the fastest and most overstable utility disc for my bag, and I suspect you just may as well if you try the War Horse!

I'd like to start of by saying "wow" wasn't to sure about buying this at first, as I primarily throw stable to understable plastic for my old man noodle arm, with that being said, this thing goes!!!!!  I launched this on 18 at my local course, usually throw the heat or an escape yet this day was super windy/ headwind 25+ so I grabbed the warhorse and let me tell you, I was not disappointed at all even got a huge skip towards the basket....... Wish I could say I birdied it but I did not bogie it and that is why I am currently bagging this bomber, you should definitely give it a go you to will not be disappointed ??

172g VIP. Super overstable disc. Not quite as overstable as a Stiletto and alittle more workable. Mine is flat, not pioneer/board flat but flat forsure. Going to be the most overstable disc in the bag. I like it. Depending on where I am a the season will determine if I will bag one or not.

I have several VIP War Horses and the War Horse has a place in my bag in-between the Stiletto and the World.  It is very consistent and provides the reliable fade needed to drive out over OB and come back in with confidence.

It has shorter and fades more than the Stiletto but won't skip as extremely as the Stiletto does.

The War Horse is an excellent wind fighter and will not turn in a heavy headwind either forehand or backhand.

This is some beef meant for serious headwinds or serious power. It will not turn over for me, I would compare it to an Enforcer or Stiletto in the Trilogy lineup. Plastic is great of course. I do think everyone with good power can use an overstable distance driver when the wind picks up. Consider this one, it's great.

Oh man does this one start off stable. If you're patient enough with it, this becomes an absolutely beautiful distance driver that is dependable and goes extremely far. This is a disc I would bag multiples of and would stay in my bag for long periods of time.

if your looking for an over stable driver that won't flip over this is the disc for you. If you don't use much power this disc will cut way early. In order to get true distance you need to snap it on a slight annie, this disc truely cuts corners.

I have gotten two of these guys and they fly really well for me. Basically these are the big bad OS disc you want in your bag when the wind is up or something has to fade really hard. It's in the Stiletto/Rask/Nuke OS type of fast over stable driver you need in your bag for those tough situations.

I throw them on forehand flex lines up to 425, but the hard fade and lack of glide make it harder to go much further than that. Backhand I did good to get these guys to 370 and the fade is hard and abrupt.

It relies heavily on the speed to get distance as it has no glide to speak of to get it out there.

I like VIP plastic for these type of discs since they hold their flight characteristics a bit longer, and I feel it does well in this plastic.

If you can't throw a less stable distance driver close to 400, this will do nothing for you and will be pointless weight in your bag distance wise. I do like to throw it on grenades if they need to fade a lot, so that is one cool use for them that is not directly distance related.

One of the only Westside discs I've found that is pretty much what the flight numbers describe. It is definitely overstable. Holds a flat line for me about 200-230' before beginning it's fade to the right. I can get it out about 325'-350'. Good disc for a headwind, or a flex line.

I throw my War Horse sidearm on a huge anhyzer angle to accommodate the fade on this beast. Sometimes that's not even enough! Occasionally, it starts to come out of its flex after only 75-85 ft. It's a beefy, knuckle-dragging driver for sure. Not for the faint of heart. Beginners will not be able to handle the amount of fade this thing has.

I am always surprised by how far the War Horse flies. My forehands are not what they once were and I am primarily a backhand players. I usually only use forehands for utility type shots when I have no other option but the War Horse has a permanent place in my bag as my forehand driver.

I gave the disc 4 stars because it takes a lot of effort to throw, at least for me. I can usually throw it a handful of times a round at best. I usually try to keep it at once or twice. I would not recommend the War Horse as a primary distance driver (it may wreck your arm!)

    FLEX FOREHAND HUGE DISTANCE!!!!

Low and behold my search for a disc that can handle a large amount of an-hyzer is over! Drop the XCal, Max, PD2, Stilleto, anything and throw one of these in your bag. I'm finally able to let a flex forehand ride that an-hyzer through it's full flight and still come back. This easily jumped my forehand from 375 - 425 sometimes further. This also added 50ft more to my thumbers as well. Thanks Westside for adding some overstability to your super gliding line up.

So beefy and sooooo good. I can typically drive around the 400-425 range on golf lines. With this disc I was throwing 325 max on a huge flex. This is good however. It's a utility disc similar to a justice but longer and skippier.

I have thrown a stack of about 5 of these and I'm a little disappointed. The se burst editions are much more stable and the plastic is a lot stiffer (which I do favor).  The se is very close to the original stiff run of opto stiletto's, just stupid beef until beaten in. The VIP run is very similar to the opto gladiator. Thrown backhand these had a nice shallow left to right turn with a hard face right around the 450 foot range. They don't seem to handle the torque of a hard side arm like my gladiators do as on 3 out of 5 throws they turned and burned and one really high bomb it turned into an all out roller. If find the se to be too much beef then these should be right up your alley.

I was very excited for the release of the Warhorse from Westside.  Most of my bag is OS already.  I throw primarily FH with high speed stuff and I like overstable to counter the torque I put on discs.  I have been a huge Stiletto fan for awhile now and I kept hearing how this was a Westside Stiletto.  I had previously had the Giant as the step down from the Stiletto, so those are the 2 discs I'm comparing the Warhorse to.

To me, I feel as if the Warhorse fits right between the Giant and the Stiletto.  It throws how I wanted the Giant to throw, something really overstable, but not so much that it will fade out unless I get everything I have into it.  I was consistently getting more distance than I got with my Stiletto and way more consistent finishes than with my Giant.  It's like a mellow or a real beat in Stiletto, something that will no doubt finish with a good fade, but won't come out of the turn too fast.

I like to use a force anny flex shot for FH due to the accuracy.  It holds that line for about half of the flight and then, very predictably, begins to fade out.  This disc is not going to be a max distance disc, except maybe into a fierce headwind.  This is a great utility disc for when you need to go up and over something with that forced anny release.  I was landing it consistently right where I wanted it to.  So for me, it knocked the Giant out of the bag.  This is a great disc for strong arms or for FH throws.

The War Horse is probably one of the first Westside distance drivers that I felt like had the right flight ratings from the start. The King originally boasted a "4" fade, but was nothing like that...at all. Well, the War Horse definitely IS a "4" fade. This thing is beefy. And with the higher speed rim configuration, you need some serious power to use it. For me it falls more into the category of being a utility disc because it is always going to fade hard before getting too far down the fairway. I really struggled to get this thing to 300 feet without it fading hard on my backhand throws. That's not to say it isn't a good disc, but it is so good at what it does that it qualifies as a beefy, overstable distance driver, for sure!

I would not recommend the War Horse for beginning players. Start with a disc that doesn't have so much fade. If you want to test out your high-speed chops without exaggerating the fade so much, try a Westside DESTINY which is much more forgiving if you want to push your distance limits.

This one was a little much for me, but still a very good mold for Westside's line up. For me it starts fading pretty quickly after release with no sign of turnover. Straight to dump is how it was for me. However, it was very useful for navigating the tricky woods at a local course, put it on a slight anny and it'll fight out fast. Forehand it and let if dump fast.

Or, if you're a big arm, rip it far. This rim is thick, but the plastic is nice as always.

Not gunna lie, the first throw had me nervous, Insta left. But then I threw her on some crazy exaggerated any, and man it flew good. No matter how much you angle ot, it ALWAYS comes back. Super nice for the forehand flex shots
