First time throwing this disc I thought I was too strong and just kept turning it over so I didn't keep it in the bag. Brought it back out and learned to control the angle and now its an effortless distance forehand disc for me.

Disc - 174 Westside Discs Tournament Queen

Feel - The Queen has a fairly small rim for a 14 speed driver and it is fairly shallow. It feels good for both backhand or forehand shots but I rarely use it for forehands. The tournament plastic is very durable and very grippy in all conditions.

Flight - The Queen is understable as I expected. This disc flips every time that I try to throw an air shot with it so I decided to use it for rollers and it rolls very nicely for me. I can throw this disc flat and it will get down on a cut angle and go a very long ways for me and then it finishes out. As I lefty without a forehand that can get up to those 375-400 foot dogleg lefts the Queen has been very helpful in my game. I'm sure that at slower speeds the Queen would have lots of glide because of its glide and definitely could be a disc for people trying to add some distance that don't quite have the arm speed for other distance drivers.

Overall - The Queen is a very helpful tool in my bag but is definitely understable so if you are looking for a roller or have a slower arm speed and want some more distance the Queen may be a good disc to try out.

The Queen was one of my first discs and since is was Tournament, I was able to throw it straight backhand a few times out of ten.   As my form improved I can throw it straight with consistency and with a slight headwind it flies as rated for me. However, with a strong headwind the Queen will turnover and never come back.  I have tried and cannot throw the VIP version indicating a significant difference between the two. .

Personally, I love my queen but it is a disc that requires time and effort to understand. I fully understand why some have rated it low. It is probably the trickiest disc in my bag. When I first got the Queen, I would either have it turn and burn or baby my shot and have it fade out.

However, a few months ago I decided to give it another shot and it is now my go to distance driver for long, open holes. I would offer you a quick solution to the sudden change but I think it is a "person-to-person" arm speed issue. I just found the correct hyzer-launch angle to let the disc flip and glide out its flight path for me.

The disc has a major, sweeping "S" flight path so I would not recommend it on holes where fairway space is at a premium. It has more turn than fade when I throw it correctly (think -3/1.5)

This is a disc that cycles in and out of my bag.  I don't like it as a main distance driver, just not consistent enough, but it does make a good distance anhyzer disc.  Something just seems off about the disc. I like it but it just seems to fly slower than the numbers for me.  I just clicked much better with the Destiny over this disc.  Good disc, just think Westside has a better disc that does similar things more consistently and with more speed.

After purchasing several Trilogy discs I decided to try more.  I've mainly thrown Innova, MVP/Axiom, and several Prodigy discs.  The EMac Truth, the Verdict, and the Bolt have really swayed me towards Trilogy.

For drivers, I typically prefer slightly gummier plastic for the grip and bright non-translucent plastic which makes it a little easier to find on longer drives.  I purchased a 173g Tournament Queen and the plastic is very nice.  It's more gummy and tackier than I find Innova's Star plastic or Prodigy's 400G plastic.  For me, the Queen is very comfortable in the hand.  It has a slightly smaller rim than the Bolt or the Destiny and is easy to grip.

After getting some throws in with the Queen, I've found that it is a bit more understable than the assigned flight numbers indicate.  I currently own 3 Star Terns (166g,167g,175g) which Innova says is 12/6/-4/2.  Just to note, I don't have a big arm and my form is a work in progress.  My Queen is a bit more understable than any of my Star Terns.  I've found myself having to really pay attention to my release angle with this disc since I've turned it over a lot more than the Tern or the Bolt (although, maybe that's showing me flaws in my form).  As expected, this disc will turn over into a headwind.  My Star Terns handle light head winds much better.

This disc is likely going to be too understable for moderate to power throwers unless its used for rollers.  For less powered players, this disc could be easy distance.

For as much as I've played disc golf, I have a pretty weak arm. I can drive about 350 feet with a good throw, but need an understable driver that will flex out to do so. The Westside King has been my main backhand distance driver for more than a year now. I have owned more than a dozen different Kings in both Tournament and VIP plastics. Almost every King I own has a slightly different stability and flight path. Some of them are incredibly flippy and I use them only in a heavy tailwind.

When the Destiny came out I was super excited to try it. Although its flight ratings indicate that the Destiny is more overstable than the King, for the way I throw it is substantially more overstable, but is still able to go quite far for me. So when the Queen was first announced as a more understable version of the King, I had to try it out, but was doubtful of how understable it would be because of my experience with really understable Kings.

Flightwise, I'd say the Queen is right in the middle. It's an understable distance driver all right. It's more understable than some of my Kings, but not as understable as some of the others that have been beat in. My first throw turned off to the right and hardly came back going out of bounds. I think I was throwing into a light headwind and this disc seems to be very headwind sensitive. My next few throws were beautiful with a nice S curve. They always came out and finished left at the end of the flight.

The Westside Queen is described to have a more comfortable feel that is easier to grip by smaller hands. For me, the Queen does feel different than the king. It is domeyer right at the edge of the rim, but it actually makes it feel a little bit bigger and harder to grip my small hands all the way around.

Overall, I would say the Queen is just a different feeling King. Great disc if you are improving your game and want something that will consistently get you more than 300 feet distance.
