The Pine is a mid that will hold straight lines and consistently fade back. It flies similar to a Roc from Innova with a different and perhaps more comfortable rim shape.

I recently downsized to 4 midranges from 7 and the Pine was my second most stable mid until the suspect unseated it.   It will turn over in a headwind but not too bad.  Backhand, I can throw it laser straight or more slowly with a little fade at the end.  It is very useful for shaping approach shots. It is likely a good beginner disc for an overtable mid but as you get more power and better form, it is straight at best, and can turn with headwind or power.

Really enjoyed the Pine I've thrown, it's got a similar flight to the Bard, but with a less aggressive fade. Still very solid resistance to torque and it doesn't want to turn, but it wont fade out very hard either. you can throw it hard and with confidence and the feel in nice and beadless. Very much like a Matrix, but without the high speed turn many of those show.

The westside disc’s pine is the best midrange in the game. The feel of the disc in the hand is perfect. It’s not too shallow, not too deep, it’s just right. The flight of the pine is ideal for a midrange, it begins out slightly over stable, and begin to work their way to straight with just the right of amount of fade to finish off the flight. The look of the swirls in the VIP plastic is awesome. The stamp of the pine, while not a pine tree, is the best looking stamp that has been produced by Westside since the tilted sword king. If you are a player that loves to throw multiple molds for a spot in your bag, then the VIP pine is a perfect fit between the gatekeeper and the bard. If you are a player that enjoys throwing the same mold for different stability shots then the VIP plastic will not agree with you. The VIP takes way too long for to beat in.  In my opinion, the pine would be the best selling midrange in disc golf if westside would have produced it in multiple plastics.

This is Westside’s epitome of a “straight-to-fade” midrange, and they really hit it out of the park with this disc. You can put almost as much power as you want on it, and this disc is just gonna go super straight super far and reliably come back to the ground with a gentle fade. It has a good depth for a comfortable power grip. The glide is right in that sweet spot, where a headwind won’t take it away for your line too easily, and will still get way down the field. If you paired this with a straight/understable mid, I don’t see you needing much else in your midrange line up.

Westside Discs is really killing it lately with their midranges and putters. The Pine is another great midrange that is very workable right out of the box. This thing is not quite as stable as a Bard, but it still holds up to power and wind very well. The flight and feel of this disc reminds me of a MD3 from Discmania. The flight is somewhat fast, but very stable and workable. Great disc that could really turn into your workhorse midrange.

My absolute favorite disc in my bag. This disc will do what you tell it to with a very slight fade at the end and a soft landing. Probably the straightest throwing disc in my bag and the longest distance mid I've ever thrown. I can throw the pine flat for 300 plus feet straight as an arrow. This vip plastic holds well, I'll also add westside goes all out with these discs I love their stamps I have a beautiful Amber brown with a sparkly chrome stamp it's beautiful.

The Pine is what you get if you take the Bard, the Sling, the Warship, throw 'em in a blender, and get the one mid that can do it all. Fantastic combination of glide, stability, ease of release.

Absolutely the most used mid in my bag. Overstable enough to be entirely predictable, but not so much you can't rip it into a straight line for tunnel shots. Perfect amount of glide to not get caught up in the wind. Beadless for honestly the smoothest release on a disc I have ever felt in my life. I mean it. You have to feel this to believe it. It is the most comfortable midrange I have ever thrown. The crew at Westside did an amazing job by going simple with this disc. By that, I mean that they didn't try to get innovative and create something new, they just simply fixed a hole in their line up, and I believe that while doing that they have come across a disc as dependable as the Innova Roc. If you throw trilogy and are looking for an incredibly comfortable dependable work horse mid range that can do it all, here you go.

Side note... it is absolutely necessary that Westside gets this disc in tournament plastic. VIP plastic is great, I have absolutely no qualms with it. However... tournament plastic is the best plastic on the market and it just makes sense to have this disc be offered in it.

I'd give it 6 stars if I could. It's my favorite mid. I use it for most of my approach shots but where it shines is in forehand approaches. I can releast it flat and it will turn a little and come back, or release with hyzer and it will flip up and go straight for a while and gently fade at the end. Glidier than advertised.

I really want to give this 4.5 stars but I'll be kind enough to round it up.  It's a great disc - feels wonderful in the hand, and has excellent glide while still being decently stable.  To me, it flies like a beat in start Roc3 with a little extra glide - It goes dead straight for quite a while unless you throw it on a hyzer, and I wouldn't rely on it to fight out of an anny.  It does, however, seem to hold up to headwinds a little better that you would expect for a glidey disc that isn't super stable.

    A perfect cycling mid.

Fresh-holds a dead straight line that fades at the end, even in a headwind

Used-Great for straight no wind or anny flex shots

Beat-Straight glidey tailwind, or anything but headwind turnovers.

This was my first mid in the trilogy lineup, and honestly I'm not sure if I can justify any other mid except for utility discs (harp, justice, anvil-when it comes out)

VIP 175g. Really fun disc to throw. Somehow they got the glide of the warship into an overstable disc. I'd compare this to a verdict and say it has similar fade to that. Feels great in the hand and has a nice dome shape. Awesome mid range for flex shots and just overstable duties without being ridiculously os.

This mid range from Westside is fantastic and fit into my bag perfectly for a reliably over stable shot but not as "dumpy" as my Bard. Another great release from Westside for 2017. They really hit it out of the park with every mold.

The Pine has great glide while still having a very reliable finish, which isn't always the case with discs that have lots of glide. I use this disc for all kinds of shots and I've never been let down yet. I typically use it for shots that are 330' and in. I'm able to forehand it nicely too since it lacks a big bead like the Bard. It always comes out with a clean release.

The flight is very similar to an older run Verdict that I think some people were starting to miss. I definitely recommend this disc!

I've been testing several discs for my overstable mid spot, and I think this disc is going to win out. It is more stable than a Compass, and similar in stability to a Verdict. It is definitely faster/longer than a Verdict with a touch more glide. I'd rate the flight as 5.5 / 5 / 0 / -2.5 in VIP plastic. The fade is strong, but late in the flight. This is the disc I wanted the Mace to be. With my 350' driver power, this mid flies about 280' for me. I'd have no qualms about using this in a 10 mph headwind. Much more wind than that, and I'd probably reach for a Spark or Felon.

    Personal Flight [5 5 0 2]
This disc I feel has a great glide to it.  When doing the Trilogy challenge I was finding it easy to get this out to the range I can throw my other mid ranges and they are all 5 glide.  This thing I can crank on as hard I personally want and it won't turn over.  It will do a nice S curve and I can get it to flex in almost any line but it is just stable enough for uses in many situations.

I personally like a Compass as my go to flat midrange but when there is a touch of headwind I am definately going to pull this out since it has a bit more of that stability that I need.  I personally doing carry a more overstable midrange in the bag since I personally doing have the distance to need one unless someday there is a 30+ mph head wind which can happen sometimes.

    Westside's Most Versatile Mid.

Westside finally came out with the mid I've been looking for. The Pine is a no frills, get the job done sort of mid. As for feel, I love it. Not too domey, and the "bead" is very small and practically unnoticeable making it very comfortable. I think that the Pine has more carry than the numbers would imply and if I had to give it numbers they would be [5, 5, 0, 2]. Considering those numbers I would say yes, it's in that same class as the massively popular mids. I believe it fits somewhere between an EMac Truth and a Verdict, maybe a touch closer to the Verdict. As for me I'm a backhand player, and was able to shape lines well with this disc. It doesn't hold an anhyzer all the way to the ground unless you really tilt it. Usually it will flex out and start to come back at the very end of the flight, which is nice because it gives it that touch of reliability. It will hold a hyzer no problem, just don't depend on it in an aggressive headwind. Truth be told, I love Dynamic Discs but I've been looking for more Westside/Lat64 options for a little diversity. Discs like the Pine and Crown are really starting to kick some of the DD stuff out, which I'm content with. An added bonus is (once again with Westside Discs) the stamp is freaking cool when you take a close look at it.

Overall, the Pine is one of those staple mids for sure. It's not going to excel beyond the other heavy hitters, but Westside surely has executed on this one.

This is the disc I have been waiting for Westside to come out with, and this disc exceeded my high expectations for this disc!

This is the perfect overstable complement to the Warship. The top mold feels nearly identical to it, and after a few rounds it has the same exceptional glide too while being overstable enough to handle fairly substantial headwinds. This disc was instantly in my bag, and I doubt it'll come out any time soon. The Tursas, Warship, and Pine feel the same and have very similar glide, but these 3 mids perfectly cover any type of turnover, straight, or slightly overstable shot I'd want to throw; and although it has a slight different feel the Bard feels similar too and covers the even more overstable duties for my mids.

For the past year or two, I had bagged a TP Bard that was extremely beat in to hold a strait line and fade out at the end of the flight in this slot, but that took tons of time and I feel I achieved this 'the cheater way' by throwing the Bard on pavement repeatedly to get it to fly like this. The Pine covers this right out of the box.

I whole heartedly agree with the comparisons to a roc that feels different in the hand, except I feel this disc has more glide than its rating would make you believe it has. Like the Warship, there have been many tee shots with this disc where I felt I under powered the disc for the distance I needed, only to slightly overshoot my target. Although this takes some adjustment, I feel this is a great attribute especially considering how much trust I have in this disc fading out when throwing this into a moderate to strong headwind.

Tried it during the Trilogy Challenge, and I mostly used it for my drives. It flew super straight with a little fade at the end. Quickly became my favorite mid-range. Awesome disc.

This is a trilogy version of a roc.  So basically it's a roc that doesn't have the bead.   I love this disc it's straight with a reliable fade.  I look forward to getting this in different plastics down the line.

This disc is awesome! I feels a little more understable than the flight numbers would have you believe. For me it was very straight, I can see it being very good for tunnel shots. I don't have a huge arm but this disc does turn over pretty easily and cut a nice tight S curve for me.

This is the beefy Warship you've been waiting (pining) for! Yes! Westside hit this mid out of the park!! Sneaky long with very dependable stability. Pairs well with a Sling or a Warship and is a bit less overstable than a Bard. This is going straight into my bag. I can't wait for this disc to come out in Tp and I'll dream that Westside will get with it and release this in elasto.

I have this solidly as a 5 star workhorse mid. Something about the feel of this disc just inspires confidence to rip it and trust that is going to do what I want. Stability and flight wise I'd compare it to a champ Roc3. To me, the rim is much more comfortable than a Roc3 and I feel like I get a cleaner release. I also put the glide up one tick to 5 based on my initial testing but glide is a really tough thing to quantify and its pretty subjective. It's splitting hairs really. Oh my god, they finally made a beefy warship! I'm very excited to see how this disc seasons over time. I just bought two more as backups because you never know how the production runs will come out.

I enjoyed this disc the most at a recent Trilogy Challenge. It can handle power and gets solid distance. After a few throws I had a solid feel for how much I could trust the lines. I think the numbers are pretty accurate and I love the fade at the end. Great compliment to straight-flying midrange discs and I was able to forehand it as well.

Played in a Trilogy challenge and used this disc. you can get some nice glide it goes far. Solid distance! Since it was a new design I expected more stability was disappointed with that. at first i thought it was to beaded but it does fit the hand good and it's no more than other beaded discs.  It will shape just about any line but overall i was not blown away.  I do have to practice with it more as it did have sneaky distance. i wouldn't say it is head wind savy
