The Viking Knife putt & approach disc is slightly overstable and can handle a lot of power. The rim is designed to be comfortable with backhand throws using both a power and fan grip. It is a beadless putter with a blunt rounded feel.

I picked up a Viking Knife in Storm plastic for a workable overstable driving putter and I was surprised at how nice the plastic felt for the price. I'm still pretty early in my experience of throwing different molds and plastics, but I think Viking got this one right. It can take a lot of punishment and boy did it hit some trees for a while. I think that this putter is a little too overstable for early players trying to learn to throw flat, but once you get decent form it can go 250+ with a solid amount of fade. If you are getting to a point in your game where you are looking to play 200-250ft holes that require you to shape a shot that goes left for right hand back hand you really can't go wrong with a Viking Kife.

Ladies and gentlemen, the first of the Viking discs lineup. As I mentioned with the Rune, for whatever reason, the two discs in separate plastics appear to be two completely different molds. That's the case with the Knife as well. I'm not kidding. I don't know why this is, or at least I couldn't tell you. Full disc-closure, I do own two of every Viking disc. The goal is three each. I have thrown all of their plastics besides Fire, and have a season and a half worth of experience with throwing their discs. I know them well.  Oddly enough, that only seems to be the case with the putters. As with what I said in the Rune review, most people would be annoyed at having such a wide gap in feel, flight and otherwise with the same mold. I will say it again. You deal with it more often than you think, and in the case of these two discs, it really isn't that big a deal. Really, it completely reinvents the disc, and gives you a wide range of new uses you didn't think you'd need. With the Knife, the ground plastic sits well in the hand for push putts and windy day approaches. This may sound strange, but I actually pack two different bags, one for windy days, the other for calm days. This is the windy day putter, obviously. If you throw it with a bit of hyzer with a forehand, you can pull off a decent Ricky Wysocki impersonation, sans the Pig. It's not so overstable it would be a problem putting, just enough to bring the disc straight from any angle and fight a headwind. Between the Rune and Knife, if you could only pick one disc, it would be the Knife, for me. Not only that, I would say this would be the new one disc round disc for me as well.

PROS: Extremely versatile disc that can be used to great effect with beginners and pros alike. Nearly unlimited shot options, and good all weather disc.

I got a Knife when they were on sale a few days ago just as something to try. Well, luck me, it has been the single best throwing putter I have ever thrown. It feels similar to a P2 in the hand, and holds its line in any condition. I can put it out on hyzer and throw it 225, or go flat to hyzer and going upwards of 260. Best putter I have ever thrown.

Disc feels really good in the hand, the dome really makes it easy to get a comfortable grip. Flies reliably, beginners might find it fades hard, but that will go away with committing to the putt and improving followthrough.

By far my favorite putter, I also use the Crown from Westside Disc, however this disc has been my go to putter since I began playing.
