I am very much a beginner and I got this disc as part of a mystery box from Infinite.  Disc was a bit of a change at a new player because it doesn't slowly curve to the edge of the disc, there's a definite bend and slant on the top.  Plastic feels firm and sturdy yet soft in grip which I like.    As for throwing, as a beginner I greatly struggle to throw my normal rhbh mostly because I lack the speed I'm sure.  What I do like about this disc is that it's my only disc I can throw forearm with any competence. For that much I like.

Good Overstable driver...If you're into that kind of thing

I got a very nice looking Monstrum from here on Infinite and gave it a thorough testing. I really wanted to like this disc, and I do, but it just doesn't fit in my bag at this time. But that doesn't mean it won't fit in yours!

The creamy plastic feels great. It's almost like a stiffer version of Innova ' s Star Plastic. The durability is top notch. I really enjoy all of UB ' plastic blends. Even their baseline Chewy plastic is a step above most of their competitors.  While their popular Procul driver had a bit of a weird rim, the Monstrum has a comfortable rim that lends itself to ripping long drives.

I compared this disc side by side to my favorite overstable distance driver, the Westside Giant, and the Monstrum compares favorably. While the rim is just a step smaller than the Giant, they were getting about the same distance. My average with the Monstrum was probably 340 to 350 feet while the Giant is right around 360. Because of its overstable nature, it just won't have the distance  of a more understable DD.

For huge hyzer bombs, the Monstrum excels. It's also great for forehand shots and overhand shots. In total, the Monstrum is a good overstable distance driver in a field of many such discs. It won't stand out over any others, but if you like UBs plastic, graphics, business model or even the fact that they are.made in the good ol' U.S. of A, then this would be a good disc to pick up!
