The Kahu is a great high speed driver with gentle turn, good glide, and a hard fade. It also works wonders as a forehand disc with a low profile and great feel on the rim. The KAHU XG is a version of the popular Kahu with slightly more dome for "extra glide" (XG).

    Long flight - low effort

173g Kahu XG Atomic Purple, RHBH.   super long flights from hyzer flips.  because i can't buy more, i am saving for open long courses.  I compare it to a broke in g star colossus. both can start the turn over at 300 feet and goodbye... RPM has some great discs, that favor control players. ( good for new players too )  -  why this one is OOP, who knows.

First of all, the Kahu XG can BOMB. That being said, it takes quite a bit of room side to side to do so. This disc has one of the most unique flights of a disc, that I have ever thrown. It for sure has turn on it, but when it fades, it FADES!  I would try and compare it to something, but I don't know that there really is. The plastic on RPM discs are incredible! Very grippy and feel great in the hand! This isn't a disc that I would normally bag, but it is tons of fun to throw!

This disc was exactly what I was hoping it would be. Right between a shryke and destroyer. Kinda flies like an older run destroyer. It turns but always seems to fight back and it does have a pretty quick fade once it does bite back.

It's staying in my bag for the foreseeable future!

I would highly recommend this for max d and tailwind drives, but also is very easy to control. I personally won’t use it for forehand though, a little too flippy.

Rim is wide but comfortable and the atomic plastic is my favorite! It’s amazing!! Very durable and very grippy with some flex. Definitely worth a try!

I am lucky enough to work just up the road from RPM headquarters and recently met some of the awesome team during a sale in their storeroom. I was talked into trying out the Kahu XG distance driver and it has quickly turned into one of my go to distance drivers. I used to throw a Shryke for most of my 400+ drives but I almost immediately could outdrive it with the Kahu XG. The plastic and stamp are very attractive (gold on black), and the accuracy, ability to flip, and the extra glide can equal some big distance. If you are looking for a big bomber from a lesser known brand this is your disc.

This disc is my favorite max distance driver and has been for a while now. It is perfect for super long flexes and max distance hyzer flips. Imagine a better, more stable, retooled shryke. I have a few in different stages of wear and the most used one is still in great shape and absolutely mashes. I throw about 400-450 for max distance shots, and nothing flies like my kahus. I found the non xg and the os to be a bit too stable for my arm, but im also throwing at 4000+ feet. If you want more distance, try this out.

This disc will always have a place in my bag. This thing can be torqued hard and handle it like a champ! It will turn over and right when you think," uh oh... it might not come back" it starts to slam back to the left giving you a very predictable finish. The flex lines on this thing are ridiculous and because of that, massive distance ensues. It feels very good in the hand for a 2.4 rim and is insanely grippy. This RPM plastic is absolutely amazing. The atomic plastic is like your traditional star, tournament, gold line plastics, except it is even more durable and grippy. You absolutely must feel this plastic to believe it.

I normally don't comment on the art on the disc, because it really has nothing to do with the usefulness of said disc... but... cmon are you seeing this?! The RPM line art is the best on the market IMO. Give them some love and check out this disc.

The Kahu XG is pretty great. The atomic plastic is really nice, however it feels very different than my Kea in atomic. The kahu xg's top feels like star and the bottom sort of feels like pro. The kea feels like a mix of champ and star so it is a little odd, but not bad. The stamp is very pretty as always with RPM. Honestly, RPM's stamps are my favorite of all company's because they are so well made and not over the top. As for the flight, it flies a little understable when thrown hard. I can get it about 410 maybe. It is right imbetween my shryke and my daedalus. I'd say the numbers are closer to 13 6 -2 2 since it is pretty understable, but not overly so. Can't wait to ge the original Kahu

I love my original Kahu drivers in both Atomic and Cosmic plastics, so when the XG and OS versions were released I obviously needed to try them. I picked up a few of these XGs, two 168s in atomic and cosmic in 169. I have yet to throw the Cosmic plastic so I can't comment on that (other than that the plastic looks and feels amazing. Similar to MVP/Axiom plasma but even prettier), but I have a few rounds with the Atomic plastic now. I am primarily a RHBH player, I have been throwing ~350 ft, up to around 400 on my best pulls. First off, the Atomic plastics that I received are a different stiffer, less gummy blend then the original Atomic Kahus I already had. They now remind me more of a Star or Neutron kind of plastic. I guess that's not a good or a bad thing per se, just something to be aware of. It has slightly more dome to it than the original, but it still very comfortable. It definitely is a tic less stable compared to the original Kahus, and it is definitely not a wind fighter. If you're not facing a headwind however, this disc will definitely travel farther than the original. It does take up some more room with a nice smooth S with a solid fade. For me it ends up finishing up just about on target line. Highly recommend this disc to anyone that is already a fan of the original Kahu, or those that felt the original was just a bit too stable. It's nice to have different options to choose from within the same mold, being able to throw on different lines with a familiar feeling mold.
