The Discmania starter pack is a great way to get you, or a friend, started playing disc golf. This set is designed to get the beginner some beginner friendly discs at a good price. This comes with a fairway driver (Essence), midrange (Origin), and a putter (Link).

This is also the first release of the new GEO plastic. It is a bit softer than EXO plastic, but with better grip. Each disc in the Evolution Starter Set comes in GEO plastic. All discs in the GEO line are a little less stable than their premium plastic (NEO and LUX) counterparts.

For my first discs I order this set and discmania's soft active set. Both sets are very approachable but I feel like if you are an athletic person this set is the better place to go. I found the active line, with the lighter weights, to get more inconsistent for me pretty quickly like the lighter weight let me throw more wildly. In addition I got a better sense of how discs fly using these over the lighter discs, they were more distinct. I can see using these three discs for some time to come.

I really like the feel of the geo plastic! Its really grippy but feels good on release. Have used the essence the most of the 3 so far and almost had my first ace with it! The essence seems to fly great when i actually can throw it correctly. The origin has helped me on some really good approach shots in the rounds i played. Love the feel of the link in hand for putting.
