It works, which is really the point. The string could be longer as that would help with places like Whitmarsh were the shore has a steep dropoff in certain areas. The claw is better in sandy areas as it will get stuck on rocks. 

Works great. I've pulled well over 50 discs from local course ponds. Lots of happy people when they hear their disc from last year had been found. The tool pays for it's self and is easy to store. I got 2 (my kids love 'fishing for discs too!).  I replaced the rope with a 50' paracord. Made sure your knot is tight and secure. I recently used this retriever to get my disc off of thin ice. Well worth it. 

Buy one, have it in your bag at all times. You never know when it may come in handy. I've rescued my own, and other players discs many times with this retriever. I only wish that it came with a longer rope on it. It will work for most small streams/rivers/ponds, but nothing over 20 or so feet wide. Considering adding my own extension, just to reach some wider ponds at my local courses. Would give 5 stars if it had a longer rope.

buy one, takes up no room in your bag, as long as you can see your disc you can get it back... only thing is you need longer cord. Comes with about 20" but you need 50".
