The Apex NF600 Rangefinder is designed specifically for disc golf. Using a 905 nanometer class 1 laser to measure the distance between an object and the rangefinder. This is ideal to determine the distance between yourself and the disc golf basket, or any other target on the fairway. This can also be used as part of course design: providing accurate distances from possible tees to targets. It can deliver the distance in yards, feet, or meters.
The NF600 has multiple modes to give you the most accurate measurement. These are the modes you can use:
1. Slope Distance - default mode, measuring distances between an object and the rangefinder
2. Vertical Distance - measures the distance, elevation difference, and the angle
3. Horizontal Distance - measures continual slope distance, angle and horizontal distance
4. Speed Measurement - measures the speed of an object (moving toward or away from the rangefinder)
5. Height Measurement - measures the height difference between two objects
6. Closest and Farthest - measures the distance of several different objects; displaying the closest or the farthest
7. Distance Compensation - measures the recommended throwing distance to an object (the distance may be 300' but up hill, which will feel more like 350' throw thus it will suggest 350')
8. Storage - this will show the last 20 readings you took
This unit operates off of a battery that can be replaced locally once it is worn down.

Great price, great rangefinder! Easy to use and read. This will absolutely help lower your score in tournaments.
I like my Apex rangefinder a lot. I got it on sale last year because I did not have the funds for a Bushnell, and then I fell in love with this one. It has every feature you could need and it is significantly less expensive than other range finders. It's also incredibly durable as I have dropped mine, left it in the cold, left it in hot cars, and it still works like a charm.
I've been using this range finder for around 6 months. My local courses are primarily tree courses where we don't need range finders since the trees themselves are good for judging distance. However on courses with larger fairways when I can go for max distance on drives and upshots I used to overshoot the basket quite often, thinking it was further away than it was.
No problems now. I'll think in my head, "Ok, 350'." Then I'll range it and it's only 250' and save myself an embarrassing comeback.
I have the rangefinder set to always show the slope adjusted distance. It's a great feature. Whatever mode you have the rangefinder set at it will still be there when you turn it on again. In the slope adjusted distance mode you see the "real" distance as a number on top, and then under it what the adjusted distance is. Pretty useful when the basket is way down or up a hill.
Speed sensor? Completely doesn't work at all, so don't buy this if you're looking for how fast your disc is going. We've tried it by people holding it behind a net, people holding it behind the thrower, setting it up in various ways, and nothing makes the speed sensor work, not even throwing a basketball. Maybe I'm just using it wrong. Doesn't matter, I didn't buy this to figure out my disc speed.
As a rangefinder this is great. Better than my buddy's who has a big name brand version.
Great product. When playing a new course or throwing from a spot I haven't been before, I can accurately measure my distance and help me choose the right disc to throw. It's helped me save strokes for sure. The other modes are nice as well. My favorite is the distance compensation where it measures up or down hill to give you the recommended distance to throw. And it measures in feet, so no math on the course when I just want to focus on the throw.
This APEX rangefinder works as well as the other brand! I saved a little bit of money by picking this model and happy I did, it works all the same and is an extremely valuable tool on the course! I would highly recommend trying this model if you are ready to get a rangefinder.
The APEX rangefinder is great! Lots of options that I haven't even tried out yet, but the regular distance measurements are spot on (and in FEET), and the incline tool is really helpful. Super good to have for practice rounds or when playing blind tournaments. Also great when I find myself in a lie that I am not that familiar with!
If only it could cut through fog...
I got this to help me get better at ranging my shots - off the tee, to landing zones, and to the pin. I wasn't quite sure whether I needed one so I picked this over the Bushnell as it's slightly cheaper.
So far, I've really enjoyed using it on the course. I've noticed that I'm not as good at guessing distances as I thought, and the rangefinder does help me pick the right disc. I mostly just leave it in the first distance mode (Slope?) and don't bother with the other modes. It came with a case, which I've attached to my Rovic disc golf cart with some Velcro.
I wish it was a little more enclosed; I'm concerned that debris may get into the open sides and damage the lenses, but so far it hasn't seemed to be the case. I may upgrade to a different carrying pouch at some point though! I've only had to change the battery once. My guess is the included battery wasn't the greatest and ran out quickly.
Just got this last week as a birthday gift. I was a bit disappointed at first because it wasn't a Bushnell. I've used my buddies Bushnell which is great. Once i got the hang of the Apex I was completely blown away. The optics are crystal clear and it has some really useful modes and is very intuitive to use. Plus it's much cheaper than the Bushnell. If you're in the market for a rangefinder which I'd highly suggest for any serious player, don't hesitate and get the Apex. Great product.
This is a great tool and a decent price. I use it on the course on longer upshot, but I got it for field work. My son and I practice in a large field with a portable basket. Using the range finder allows me to work on specific shots from specific distances. Then, when I want to work on my distance, I pull out the range finder to measure my throws.
It is easy to use and has great optics. It also have a few other settings. One will give you distance uphill as well!
This rangefinder is pretty awesome. Really easy to use and to cycle through all of the different modes. It has a power 2ish zoom, which is nice. This is a pretty nifty tool to have. I really enjoy this as I use it to measure how far my throws go. Every now and then I'll use it to see the distance to the pin. But it is mainly for my fieldwork days.
Comparing this to the Bushnell, I find that there is about a 3 foot variance between the two of them. This is hard to tell if one is better quality or not as looking through both of them my hand is real shaky. Some of my friends say that the Bushnell as better optics than this one, to me, I don't see a difference. This one you do have to change the focus on it, where as the Bushnell doesn't have a focus to change. To me the Bushnell and this one is very similar.
Using it is pretty intuitive. Cycling through the modes is pretty easy as well. The only complaint I have with this is that if it powers down, you'll have to cycle back to the mode that you were on when you turn it back on. Not a big deal at all though. The two modes that I enjoy the most are the Slope Distance (default) and the Vertical Distance (VD). The vertical distance is cool, as it gives the angle and what the distance of throw.
The Speed mode of this is cool, but not too practical if you want to see the speed of a disc. Discs are too small of a target for this mode to be practical.
Overall, this is a solid and dependable rangefinder.
