Discraft Tournament Bag (Green/black) - I love this bag! It is just the right size for me to have all the discs I really "need" without lugging a bunch of extras I don't throw. It forces me to be a little bit selective with what I bring and tailor it to the course I'm playing. But even then, I have about 17 discs in the bag including putters and mids which take up more room. So there really isn't a shortage of space. The zipper pocket opposite the water bottle holder is plenty big enough for my wallet, keys, a mini, whalesack, handwipes, disc towel, and a beanie/gloves if it is cold. I don't think it is large enough for a jacket though if you were to start a round with jacket or sweatshirt you didn't need later in the round. That's probably the only limitation over a traditional backpack here. The drink holder is solidly built and larger enough to fit a 32oz Insulated Klean Kanteen, which is even larger than a full Nalgene so there are no problems there. I chose this style of bag because I am not playing courses that require much walking in between shots and I can't really throw far enough that I'm walking a long ways in between my shots anyway. I just wanted something that I could pop on and off my shoulder easily and carry enough discs to be useful. The backpacks seem to big and expensive for my current needs. That could change eventually, but for now I highly recommend this bag for recreational players.
I won this bag as part of the grand prize for winning an Ace Race, and I have to say it's not a bad bag. It feels well constructed with PVC on the bottom, and the straps feel secured.
It says that it fits 12-14 discs, but I got 16-18 in there without much of a problem. Not that I would ever carry that much, but I wanted to see exactly what it could handle. The water bottle pocket can definitely fit a 32 oz gatorade or nalgene, and it has plenty of additional storage space as well for a towel, snacks, wallet, phone and keys.
For an intermediate player this is a great option for a bag to upgrade to if you are on a budget. It can hold more discs than the beginner bags can, can hold more storage wise, and will handle a larger water bottle.
I'd recommend it if you want a decent bag that isn't a backpack!
This bag is great for beginners! This is the first bag I bought and aft 3 yrs it is still in great shape. Pretty good quality bag!
