    170 400 F3

While it wasn't what I expected or initially hoped for, this disc found a spot in my bag. Overall, I really like the disc and love how it flies. But it is definitely more under stable than I anticipated, although I only have a sample size of 1. The plastic that I have is the newer feeling Prodigy 400, which I absolutely love. Great grip and pretty gummy for a non "soft" disc.

Thrown flat with around 265 -290 feet of power the disc will get a pretty strong turn, but will fade out at the end, probably finishing just right (if RH throw) of the target line. It is a great hyzer flip disc that can push very straight with a decent fade at the end. Overall, it is a disc that you can use for a variety of throws as long as you have control of your angles and release.

The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the fact that, in my opinion, it is definitely more under stable than the numbers. However, the flight is really nice, the glide is great, and it gets easy distance in a very controllable disc. As a bounus the 400 plastic dyed nicely as well.

    Newer numbers are  8 / 5 / -2 / 2.  I would give it 8 / 5.5 / -2.5 / 1

I love this disc so much. It feels (and flies) pretty different from the other straight discs in the market such as the Buzzz, FD, or TL and might be a good alternative if you've not loved those discs. I've found that many of those discs have a hard threshold that must be reached before it flips up to straight or it will hold a "pushing-hyzer" to the ground. I haven't found this to be the case for the F3 and would compare it's flight closer to a fast prodigy mid like an M3. I pretty regularly reach for this when throwing a standstill or touchy technical shot because this thing always flips up to straight, even at shockingly low speeds. The rim is also a bit more aggressive than one would expect for a straight fairway, but I'm a fan as it makes the release a bit cleaner for me.

Overall, I've found this disc to be a real gem. It's been great to throw it on both slow and fast hyzer-flips as well as those tough hyzer-to-late-turn shots in the woods. I've messed around with it on sidearm and have gotten some good hyzer-flips out of it, but I wouldn't recommend cranking sidearms with it if you've got a big arm.

As most prodigy throwers would guess, the numbers are not exactly right on this one. I would call it a 7/5/-1/1 or -1.5/1. As far as flights go I would compare it to a KaxeZ, a fresh champ Leopard3, or a fast M3.

This is the fairway for anyone.  I bag 3 in different plastics.  I have a 400G that's a hyzer-flip to turnover flex, a 400 barstamp that flip-to-flat with finish, and a new 500 that's flat-to-finish.  The F3 has tremendous glide and control and can easily thread wooded tunnels but stay close to your distance drivers when there's no wind in the open.  I have noticed the F3 is run-specific so if you grab one you really like, buy several as backups because finding another that flies like it may be tough.

The F3 is a great fairway driver than can be an every situation driver for a female arm! It's a go to for Prodigy Sponsored FPO player, Cass Lioi!

I found one of these unmarked and threw it a bunch to check it out. I really like the feel of the Prodigy plastic. One of the top blends in my opinion. The flight was nice but not something I was looking for at the time. It had a little turn followed by a solid fade. Which can actually be useful for some wooded golf lines (hold straight then fade into a tucked basket). I am now considering maybe looking at trying one again.

I was disappointed with the flight of Prodigy's F3. I was expecting more of a straight to stable Teebird type flight, but the flight I got was almost identical to the F2. I really like the F2, but I downgrade this disc because it should a different flight.

I don't know if it is the mold or the plastic (400s) but this disc is super flippy. On level, moderate power, throws with slight headwind, this thing held a nice line but never even attempted to pull out of it's turn. I had never thrown prodigy before and wasn't sure on the plastic, mine (again 400s) is ridiculously gummy which is incredibly disappointing. Based on description and picture I was expecting something similar to champion, but this has a feel that is similar to gStar, only gummier. The disc is easy to throw, glides off the hand really, and might be good for beginners, or advanced level players looking for an easy anny disc (BH throwers), but for literally everyone else there is already a disc that is better than this one i.e.- Teebird, River, Exodus, Crave, and like a hundred others. Again I don't know if it is the mold or the plastic but I would not recommend it either way.

I was shocked on how stable this disc. At first I didn't know in what situations I would this disc. But recently I found out that it is great for windy days.

I have had a 174g 400s F3 for a long time and this is my favorite fairway driver. Flies strait for as long as I can throw it and has a gentle fade at the end. Any hole with tight fairways that are dead strait I reach for my F3. It will have some slight HST on full power throws but always fades out (except in the wind). Will also hold what ever line you put on it, hyzer's forever and will hold an anhyzer line for a long time before fading out at the end.

My F3 is orange, 174 grams. This is my new favorite Prodigy disc. I was debating between the F2 and F3, but I am very happy with my choice. Inside rim is very comfortable and easy to grip for people with smaller hands. This disc is so controllable on backhand throws. I can throw it dead straight downhill, low strong hyzers, beautiful long S curves that always come back left, slow turnovers, medium height drives that slowly finish left, huge hyzers around a mando that glides out to basket high, and maybe an ace in the future! On sidearm throws, the nose angle seems to be very sensitive, but when released right, it usually flips up to flat and turns a smidge before finishing softly back to the right. The 7 speed rating on this disc is very true because it doesn't fly as far as my other fairway drivers, like the Stalker or Volt. If you are having trouble staying straight because of poor form or too much power, try this F3. I didn't try the M3 by Prodigy, but the F3 seems to fly like the M4, but not as much turn and more fade.

This disc is a workhorse driver through and through, and I mean that as a compliment. I bought the Proto F3 in hopes that it would be a slightly understable fairway driver that with a powerup RHBH throw would slowly turn right, glide, the gently fade back to the left at the end of it's flight, Well guess what... that's just what it does. I do not carry very many fairway drivers with me as I can throw most of my mids just as far and with better accuracy for the most part. The two exceptions are

1: an overstable get out of Sh!^ disc, one that can skip nice as well as tommy and thumber (I currently swap between a Champ Banshee or Z Pred), and

2: slightly understable discs that have a large of range of uses. (currently a first run MVP) This 2nd type, I dub for myself workhorse drivers because they can be so versatile depending on the power and snap you put on it. The F3 fits right in with this. By powering it up and bombing this disc it will slowly turn over, but not aggressively mind you, just on it's own time, then will start to fade back in. The fade back is mush more aggressive than the turn which can also be useful. But I like that I don't have to worry about overpowering it and having it turn and burn.

Driven on a slight hyzer line they will flip up a bit and glide, to finish with that healthy fade. I don't forehand shoot very often but this last weekend I was forced to flick a par 5 hole 14 at Soda Springs during a tourney. Normally I would never throw new plastic in a tourney, but that was how desperate I was to get through this 5' wide 578' long tunnel (Alan knows what I'm talking about). Out came the F3 and the flick and that slide turn before the fade was the difference of about 3 strokes otherwise. Right then and there it was a game changer. I didn't think many Prodigy discs would come and then stay in my bag. I figured I would pull em out after testing cause I was n't in love with any besides the M1, not today though. I think the F3 may have found it's way in to stay. I would recommend this disc to any skill level but know that if you do not have a big arm, you might see the slight turn, more just the fade. I feel it is similar to a Tournament Westside Stag.

I Really like this disc. I got to throw it for the first time a few days ago. I threw it about 350' with a slight downhill shot. I just threw it with a bit of turnover, but not enough to quite turn it over completely. So, I guess you can say I got a good first flight out of this disc. I got it in the 400S plastic that i like the best so far. I love the colors that prodigy has and I hope they can make more as time goes on. The first thing i noticed when i gripped it was the thin rim. It was really nice to grip. I also found that little dip in the disc, that is what made the grip feel great. It was weird feeling a Prodigy disc that was thin and understable. that is so unlike their drivers. Next, is how the disc flies in the air. It has my personal favorite kind of flight path. The kind where you can put some muscle on it, but not so stable that you have to put so much power that it is inaccurate. I just like throwing discs flat and having them not quite flip, but not have a huge left turn. I average about 370' - 400' throwing range in an open shot. If you throw in that range, this disc will be great for nice flat shots that will fly very straight, but not so much that it hyzers out. If you throw harder than me, or further than me, this will not be a stable disc for you. You will have to throw it at a hyzer, and it still may turn over on you. You may want to go with a more stable fairway driver like the F2, or even the F1 if you have a ton of snap. On the other hand for beginners, you may want to go with the F7, which it even says it is for beginners. I may get the F1 in the pink or the sweet clear plastic that Prodigy has, (which is not actually that hard to find in the grass). That about sums it up for this disc review. I hope to do more reviews on all of the others soon. I am new to the sight so tell me if I did any thing wrong or give me any reviewing tips.

I would describe the Prodigy F3 as stable/overstable. It's more overstable than I was expecting it to be, and with my power had virtually no turn. While this disc is very similar to the F2, it is very different from the understable F7. Like all Prodigy discs, it comes in a great feeling plastic and is very comfortable in the hand. The flight path of this disc is similar to that of the Innova TeeBird or Legacy Rival.

For me it flys straight for about 170-200 feet, then starts fading with a pretty substantial fade. It definitely isn't a disc that will provide max distance for me. The F3 is overstable enough that I can throw it with a moderate forehand throw, but it's not a disc I would ever use for flick shots as long as I have other options. It is a backhand disc that will fly consistently. If you need a stable/overstable fairway driver, in my opinion this is as good as any. It is not a magic game changing disc, but it seems like it will accomplish its purpose.
