The F Model US is another understable disc in the Prodigy Ace Line. While a speed-10 disc is typically considered more of a distance driver, this disc is designed to be handled by intermediate or new players with a straight-to-understable flight path that handles like a fairway driver.

This thing is the most overstable driver I have - nothing like the numbers suggest.  For me, LHBH, this thing barely hold a straight line before it starts fading right.  Even on slight anhyzers I couldn't get this disc to show any sort of turn to the left - it just starts fighting right.  I throw around the 275 - 325' range.  I can get my Star Destroyer to hyzer flip, but not this thing (and it's a speed 10, not 12).  Also, this thing seems to have no glide - it flies like it weighs as much as a brick...  Overall, it feels fine in the hand, and I guess there is a purpose for this disc, but it is advertised as an understable driver.  My flight ratings on this disc are more like 10, 3.5, 0, 3.  Maybe I got a bad one, but this thing is NOT as described.  Weirdest disc purchase for me so far...

If I throw this disc straight and level it turns wildly to the left and slams into the ground, absolutely not like the numbers would suggest.
A waste of $ unless I can figure out something else for it to do - possibly a roller?

Something with backhand? which I have not developed yet.

I plan to experiment with a huge countering anhyzer but I'm not capable of any power when I throw that way.

I can only throw about 300', possibly someone with a fast arm would get a more useful flight out of it?   Should be rated speed 14?  Just disappointing.

    :-(

My Flight Ratings: 10/5/-0.5/2 Not Beginner Friendly Throwing Distance: N/A Straight Score: N/A

I thought this would be similar to a Discmania TD based on the flight numbers, but this is far more overstable. Throwing it flat or on a slight hyzer and I got no turn out of this. I would agree with the other reviews and this is more of an overstable disc than an understable disc as advertised. I don't think it's firebird overstable but it's pretty close to a thunderbird.

The F Model US is supposed to be understable, but it flew like a Firebird for me. It's very flat and has a sharp rim, which I thought might be uncomfortable, but it didn't effect my throws much. It flights straight outta the hand, but starts fading out pretty fast. I tried to hyzer flip it and got it up to flat a for a second, but it fades out quick.

Overall, I thought this would be a flippy fairway, but it's an overstable fairway for me. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this to beginners. I would recommend it to experienced players who want a flat top firebird-like disc. 4 Stars, because for how it flies, it's very dependable, but it loses a star for not flying as advertised.

Prodigy states that this flight path will go slightly to the right for a right hand back hand (RHBH) throw. I found this to be pretty accurate. Despite that though, I more frequently threw this disc straight with a good amount of fade at the end. I can hyzer flip this, and when I did, I never got it to fly off to the right and come back. It always flipped up to flat and remained straight until it would fade out. The controllability on this disc is pretty decent. Hyzer lines are easy for this disc, it'll hold that line all day long. Putting this fairway driver on an anyzer line is easy as well. It won't hold the line till the end, as it will come out of it.

This plastic has a nice feel to it. The rim is fairly thick for this speed, close to an 11 speed disc. The basegrip plastic holds up fairly well. Throwing it point blank, 80% power, into the ground did leave a mark, and slightly bent the rim - which I bent it back to flat, it still laid flat despite the bent rim. So If you find yourself throwing discs into a tree just a few feet away from the teepad/throwing spot, you might bend it, or get the next best plastic.

Overall, I would recommend this disc to someone who is somewhat skilled or better.  Meaning, a beginner who has some time playing and is fairly consistent. My recommendation is as such, as it is a fast disc with a good amount of stability to it. Making it not the easiest fairway driver to throw for distance.

Throwing a basegrip plastic at 4,400 ft in Utah. To me, 5 stars = incredible disc 4 stars = good & dependable disc. I don't give out too many 5 star ratings.
