The A5 is an excellent addition to Prodigy's A lineup. This disc has a similar feel to the A2, but with smoother edges. This disc will fly straight for the majority of the flight with a consistent overstable finish for most players. This disc can easily become your next go-to approach. It's workable for beginner to intermediate players, but has excellent torque resistance for high-powered shots from advanced players.

The A5 is an awesome approach disc, probably my favorite disc in Prodigy's approach lineup.  It has a very comfortable shape, a little bit on the shallow side which feels great for both forehand and backhand.  The 400 plastic is nice and gummy.  The disc has a great and versatile flight, I get a lot of use out of it as a somewhat overstable throwing putter.  It's not nearly as overstable as a zone or A2, it goes pretty straight with decent glide and speed (though on the slow side, it is a 4 speed) and has a solid fade.  It's great for throwing controllable hyzers, baby flex shots, and also works well for approach shots when I need a straight run at the basket.  This disc pairs great with a more overstable approach disc like an A2/A3 or zone.

Great disc to complement your zone/toro/whatever slot.  Straighter than my toro but still fades.  I usually use it for shorter shots and like to throw it on anhyzer and let it pan to flat and finish straight.  Has a knack for the chains, to boot.

My 400 A5 feels so comfortable in the hand. I absolutely love this thing. It's overstable enough to be used in that approach disc slot but not to be that beef of all beef type discs. It handles power and torque nicely with a consistent finish regardless of angle. I believe the A5 is enough for most people that throw under 350 ft with drivers. It pairs very nicely with approach/mids in that super overstable category. Meaning, you put this on anhyzer, it'll hold for a bit before fighting out.

*NOTE* I only give 5-stars out to discs that I bag and throw actively. A 4-star disc is great and may come in and out of the bag for me and I can see another player actively bagging it.

I've thrown a lot of overstable putt and approach discs. Pig, Zone, Tactic, Toro, Temple, Raze, Envy's and Harps. My friend then gave me a 750 and a 400 A5 because I already bagged the A2. He just says 'give it a toss' and I did. I was not a fan. It flew like a Zone. Fast forward to the present where I am throwing the 400 A5. That is the one that you want. It's not as overstable as a Zone and flies closer to an Envy. It's got the handfeel of a Zone and the flight of an Envy. As an amateur player this is the disc that I can get to fly straight with a reliable fade at the end. Bag this with an extremely overstable disc like an A2 or Justice and you're making money. If you wanna hop off any of the Zone or Envy bandwagons give the A5 a try!

I think the original flight numbers for the A5 are 3/4/-1/1 and it doesn't fly like that. I've thrown the A5 in the 400, 500 and 750 plastics. For reference on Prodigy's plastics, the higher the number the stiffer and more stable it will tend to fly. The 750 flies like a ESP Zone, the 400 is closer to a faster Envy, and the 500 is in between. The hand feel is very reminiscent of a Zone, but a touch more shallow.

If you want a beat in Zone right out of the box, this is the disc for you!

It feels just like a Zone in the hand, but it flies much straighter. Perfect for those forehand approach shots that you don't want to skip too far right, or a forehand anhyzer shot that holds left and finishes flat.

First off the 400 plastic is great. It's gummy and grippy.

The run of A5 I have has no turn and considerable fade. It replaced my zone as it flies like a beat in zone with a little more glide.

This disc is like magic, it feels EXACTLY like a Zone. EXACTLY like a Zone! But flies with a slight flip but reliable and forward pushing fade.

It has good torque resistance for Forehand and Backhand.

This is not a Zone replacement but it is the perfect compliment to a Zone by giving the same feel as a Zone but a nice Straight flight!!

I'd say it's a more of a 4 speed and a 2 fade. Absolutely love this disc and could not recommend it enough!!!
