The rim of this mold provides a smooth release, helping you to achieve the maximum distance.

I typically play at 5000+ ft, with 420ft max power:

First off, the plastic is fantastic. I had the opaque version of the H9 and it has no flashing and was very comfortable in hand, a very nice grippy gumminess to it. Very reminiscent of K1 or a slightly softer Royal Grand.

As for the disc itself, I had a similar experience to the other player here. Mine was extremely flippy, one of the flippiest discs I've had. I don't know if maybe these were some mislabeled Rifts but those are the numbers it felt like.  For me it was quite unreliable, even at 5000 ft the disc would often roll over, which is very rare for me at altitude. Good for turnovers and rollers, but a bit touchy. I lost mine on a hole that had a wide open field to the right and a deep river gulch to the left. I threw it on a heavy hyzer, expecting it to turn out into the field, and it still rolled all the way over into a cut roll into the river.

If this is how this driver typically performs I could see this being an excellent beginner driver that a slower arm could get great S turn and eventually learn turnovers and rollers.

Not sure if I got an unusual one, but it's incredibly flippy. I play pro division, throw roughly 420-440ft on average. If I'm not careful and release with a lot of hyzer, it'll roll. This is not a bad thing though. I've been using it for long turnovers.

Feels good in the hand, predictable understable flight.

The Caldera is an excellent distance bomber disc. The one I tried has less stability than the printed flight ratings indicate. This disc isn't anything new or revelatory, but it's a great solid distance driver that works well for the average intermediate disc golfer.

The thing that makes this and all Obsidian Discs stand out, and the reason I give it a 5 star rating is because of the plastic quality. H9 plastic is one of the best feeling plastic blends in all of disc golf. It's like star plastic with better grip. I'm a big fan of the Obsidian plastics.

If you like small European disc golf brands, like trying new discs in great plastic, try out the Caldera.
