The signal is a great disc for beginners. I feel like this disc is mvp's version of an innova leopard, just more premium. For lower arm speed players it's going to be a straight flyer with plenty of glide. At 300 feet of power I use this disc for long turnover shots, reliable hyzer flips, and shots where I have limited space to throw. It has gotten me out of jail on many occasions because of how easy it is to get a nice full flight.

    170g Neutron MVP Signal

The Signal feels like a mix between a mid range and a control driver. You can shoot it straight, though I prefer my Mako3 for straight shots. However, the understanbility of this disc allows you to play around with your shot a bit more. This makes the Signal great for a deeper midrange utility disc/control driver.

This was a step up as a beginner to getting a faster disc but wanted the understability since I didn't have the overall arm speed but I noticed it was getting better. Will fly very straight for medium arm speeds. I would recommend for straight shots. As your arm speed increases you can put on a hyzer and it will flip up with more spin and remain straight. I use this utility when I need an anhyzer angle to fade right around a tree and flatten out to the basket. Overall a great beginner disc to be used as a driver to start and then can be transitioned to a utility as you increase arm speed and can periodically make use of the understability for specific shots.

I am six months into my disc golf journey and I purchased my first Signal looking to move up into fairway drivers for the first time and looking for something under stable to match my developing arm speed.  I still consider myself a beginner.

At this time, my normal (can achieve on every throw) drive distance is 250 feet. I've put this disc through several field practice sessions and it is under stable right out of the box, possibly more than indicated by the flight numbers. It will turn over easily when released flat and continue turning to the right. It is easy to hyzer flip to flat and the disc flies straight for the rest of the flight for max distance. It does not crash and burn when thrown on (not extreme) anhyzer, but it does not fight out of the right turn.

The under stability gives me the confidence to throw the disc at less than 'full power' to achieve good distance; knowing that it won't hyzer out and fall short (assuming the nose angle isn't up).

It shines on stand-still shots and slow-speed shot: straight when thrown flat with a gentle fade on the end. This makes it easy to (highly) recommend this disc to newer players.

The Signal feels like a natural next step up from the Axiom Paradox while the next step up from the Signal would be something like a Latitude 64 Diamond: three good discs for slower arms.

I'm looking forward to putting this disc in the hands of other new players I encounter and seeing them have success with it.

I purchased one of these when looking for an extremely flippy fairway driver and this was exactly as expected. More of a utility disc but it definitely has a place in my bag. For me it is a fast Discraft Sol. I would highly recommend this to anyone just starting off looking to find a disc to get to fly straight. For more experienced players I would really only recommend it if you are looking for a very understable utility disc.

I bought this looking for a longer Spin. I love that the Spin stands up on a hyzerflip and barely turns over if at all.

The Signal is way flippier than the Spin. Even on a low power hyzerflip this disc will turn over.

I used this disc for a couple shots but ended up taking it out of the bag. It was great for a scramble roller: like if you are stuck in the woods and need to do a little patent pending reach back and get 100 feet of distance or something. Also used this for 150 to 200 foot dogleg rights. I can see how this would fit in as a scramble disc but overlapped too much other other discs in my bag that fit those scramble shots.

To preface this review I'll state that, when I bought the Signal, I was looking for an understable disc for flex shots and turnovers. I underestimated just how understable the disc is, and although I cannot use it and no longer bag it, it is not without it's uses.

The Signal is very shallow, which yields a unique feel, but not necessarily uncomfortable. Out of the box it is very flippy. I am a LHBH thrower with a range between 400-450ft. Thrown on max hyzer, the Signal will flip almost immediately. Even when thrown with a lot of height, the Signal almost never begins to come back, let alone get a full flight. For those without a forehand the Signal is good due to the predictable turn and wander the disc demonstrates. The Signal will often crash to the ground while still turning, and, to this point, the Signal has made a decent disc to throw rollers. However, the Signal is not stable enough for the roller to remain up on it's rolling path.

I believe that the Signal makes a perfect disc for all beginners as a first driver, or even a great disc to learn angles with. More advanced players may want to look elsewhere to fill those slots in their bags.

My love for this disc is from my beginnings.  When I started, this was a great disc for me.  Now, I have trouble using it due to its extreme understability.  Where this disc really shines is handing it to a kid!  Both my children have this in their bag and they can make it do this little s - flight that is glorious.  One of the most kid friendly discs made.  Along with a diamond, this should be in every beginner's bag.

SUPER-flippy, right off the shelf. It is hard to control for power throwers as it is easy to turn and burn, and doesn't work terribly well for rollers. On the plus side, it is an amazing disc for newer players who are just figuring things out. Low power throwers can get long straight lines from it.

This is the disc that finally allowed me to throw consistent backhand rollers. I had tried a Sidewinder, Witness, and a Diamond but to no avail. I throw a bunch of MVP so I decided to try it out and it was love at first throw. While I don't get huge distance, I can still get this out 350+ feet on a nice even pull with just a little anhyzer.  I also use it for hyzer flips that I want to work right or large sharp turning sky anny's.

This mold is amazing. When I first started playing this disc was just a nice straight flight but as my armspeed got better it has now transitioned into being my go to roller/turnover/hyzer-flip-to-straight disc. I can really shape any kind of shot with this disc, except for maybe a hyzer shot as it is too US to hold any type of hyzer line if you put power on it. It serves as my get out of jail card in many situations. This is a great disc for beginners to learn how to shape shots and work on their form.

I love this disc so much!  for a newer player this will be an easy driver to throw as its understable and low speed but will fade dependably (if thrown at the speed its meant to be).  I throw 8-9spd drivers and love this disc for its flexibility.

This is not a primary disc but something for demanding shots that you need a disc that you can turn, or a disc that is helpful if you don't have a solid forehand.  I have two of these, one that is light and one that is close to max weight.  The light one I can easily throw on a hyzer and get it to turn over and become a roller, the heavy one is more dependable if I want to get it to turn and finish right but not ground out and roll.

These discs are also terrific if you're in the woods and want a driver but aren't in position to put a lot of power on the disc, they have a nice gentle S flight line and will glide quite a ways.  The also are easy to roll when you can't get a lot of power and need an escape shot.

Final thought is that if you are newer player and not throwing big drives yet (-200ft) this could be a great disc to try out.  If you're throwing further I'd still pick one of these up just because its a fun disc to play with and can be surprisingly useful on the course.  Especially heavily wooded courses or if you don't have much of a forehand.

If you are new to the sport, or love to hyzerflip, this should be in your bag.  This thing is a flipping machine, great for rollers and turnover shots.  I have had a hard time finding a place for this in my bag because it is just that understable.  I bag an Impulse and an Inspire, and neither one are close to being this understable.  I was able to rip a few yuuge hyzerflips with this thing, just not consistently.

Got a beautiful charcoal grey one at MVP Circuit, and I would describe it as much more like a Cheetah than a Leopard. But better. Got some good throws from it and some not so good ones. I would put the numbers more like 6,4,-2,2. A pretty solid disc to fill the understable fairway/beginner disc in MVPs lineup. While I do love MVP discs, and I like this disc, I still think the Westside Seer is the best disc of this type currently on the market.

At first I did not like the signal. Heck, I didnt even use it in the circuit tournament.

After doing some field work with it, I love it now! It's a great turnover disc and roller disc. It can be a little touchy and it is not meant to be thrown with a lot of power.. Which makes it very beginner friendly.

I use it mainly for turnover shots between 275'-200' and I can get some pretty nice distance from rollers. Overall, it's a really fun disc once you figure it out.

The Signal is an excellent disc for beginners. I'm not a high power disc golfer, and most of the "understable" MVP/Axiom stuff isn't understable for me when I throw backhand. The Signal is. My first throw with the signal turned completely over and drifted far off to the right.

After getting used to it, and realizing that I need to release it as a Hyzer and not throw it at full power, I really learned to like the Signal, and ALMOST won my Circuit event thanks to its versatility.

The Signal is also a great disc for disc golfers who can't throw a forehand flick shot. This is a great Anhyzer disc and is perfect for those backhand shots that you want to finish right.

If you're a new player and want something that will get good distance and control, I highly recommend the MVP Signal.

This disc is a great starter disc, very comparable to Innova's Roadrunner.

beginners will be able to use it as a decent driver if they don't have the best form. However more advanced players may use to throw as a roller disc or a half power turnover shot disc that won't come back very much.

This driver is a great disc to start with.  It is fairly easy to get a decent S shapped drive to maximize the distance.  I have a 171g disc, but would like it to be a bit lighter sometimes.  When thrown with a good snap of the wrist it really sails well and ends up right in front of you at the end of the throw just as the flight path is shown.
