This disc deserves to be talked about. This disc gets me great distance and can easily hyzerflip to have control on tighter holes. It's flippy enough to hold a turn on anhyzer around an obstacle so I can feel comfortable backhanding what would usually be a forehand line.

My personal preference is the faster Wave, but I pull the Impulse out as well, particularly if I've got a tailwind. Under normal conditions, it's got a pretty decent turn and then fade back and provides good distance; but I'd avoid throwing into the wind, or else it flips over too far and spikes into the ground -- or becomes a roller. The Impulse I have isn't brand new -- I got it used, but it is in really good shape still; so my description may be less accurate if working with a brand new Impulse.

This disc was great when I had a slower arm. I used instead of the Daedalus, just until I had a better arm for it. Well, now when I grip and rip, the Impulse turns over like it's getting paid to do it and will turn a hopeful hyzer flip into a full blown anhyzer shot. In my opinions, this disc is not ideal for stronger arms. I also got it in a lighter weight which could play into this.

I'll bag it for utility anhyzer shots because this thing will sail and dive hard when thrown that way.

This is my go to disc right now, it flies right where you put it. I feel like I have decent arm speed, but nothing crazy. I rely on this Impulse forehand and backhand. It's the first understable disc I've used and I really have come to love it. Using an understable disc has taught me to avoid rounding. Pretty durable too (it's been run over by two cars).

Originally I bought this disc to go with my mamba, they fly similarly but now the same, but I had to keep it in my bag, great for distance. And sleek feel, I would suggest it if you like the mamba.

I wanted to see if the "gyro" technology of MVP discs lived up to its reputation, so I picked up a 165g Impulse.  I have what many would consider a noodle arm, but I can get my Mamba, Tern, and even my Destroyer out past 300 feet.  I was even able to turn the Impulse over, but for some reason, it never went more than 275 for me.  I'm returning it tomorrow.

Want distance with little power? Want an easy roller? The impulse is for you. Brand new, this disc turns like a dream. Thrown at decent speed, this disc has a mellow turn, not incredibly fast or hard.

I bag an Impulse for those long smooth turnover shots, and boy does it fill this gap.  This disc is understable, but not turn and burn understable.  Unless you are faced with a windy situation, this disc should bend out plenty right for you RHBH throwers and finish as it starts to fight back.  This also makes a pretty decent roller disc, as it will naturally try to flip when asked.

The Impulse is a workhorse for me off the tee. I can flip it up straight or flip it up to slight turnover. I can also count on getting a good turnover when throwing it flat, without it fading much at the end. When I need to thread a drive through a tight window, particularly with a moderately low ceiling, I'll most likely pull out the Impulse instead of the Inertia or a faster driver.

I think it's too fast for beginners to get much use from it.

One word: GARBAGE! Weenie arm disc, put any torque on it and you're watching it tink trees. After a round you'll seriously want to just chuck this thing in a nearby garbage can. That's probably the best flight you'll see out of it. Just BAD!

Hands down my best flying disc. This disc threw great for me when thrown level, but after reading a comment about throwing with a slight Hyzer the disc really ripped down the fairway. I like this disc for tunnel shots especially.

Although this is an understable disc, the Impulse may be harder to throw for beginners. The overmold technology requires a ton of snap, and until you get that, have fun with it not turning over. Just earlier this month, I watched a driving instruction video by Will Schusterick. My level of power and snap went up a ton, and now I can't get this disc not to turn over, no matter the amount of hyzer.

Thrown straight, the Impulse turns over and doesn't come back. On a slight hyzer, the Impulse will turn over and won't come back unless I chuck it up into the sky. When thrown on a sharp hyzer, this will flip up flat, turn over, and then fade back

Back when I was newer, this disc gave me the best distance I had. Now, it is too flippy for me and I can't get it to be stable. I would recommend this disc for noodle arms with snap and beginners/ intermediates looking for a disc that they can get more distance out of.

finally !  the boys at mvp have given me a driver that i can control like no other. i seemed to struggle with the fairway drivers especially with the amp, but this thing works so well for me.  i can really bomb this disc, depending on release angle this disc can make a long s curve or a straight lazer beam with a hyzer flip. im just going to say that im not exactly a spring chicken anymore but this disc keeps me hanging with the big boys. i highly recomend this disc to the over 50 disc golfer who may not have quite as much snap as they had when they were 25.....

This is an intresting disc. When thrown backhand, I get maybe -1.5  turn and 3 fade. When thrown forehand, however, I get almost exactly the listed flight numbers. I think this is beacuse the gyro technology needs more snap to get spinning and fly correctly. ANyway, this disc will fly! It's not extremely glidey, but it still goes far. I find it is pretty easy to control where the Impulse goes, but the flight itself swings to the left and right hard, so I would not recommend the Impulse for tunnel shots. In conclusion, this disc is tough to throw backhand for me, a beginner, but it's a beaute when thrown forehand.

After a great experience with the MVP Amp and a bad one with the MVP Inertia, I tried again with the Impulse.  First, I will just say that the overmold rims/edges create more stability/overstability, so I was not expecting the Impulse to be as understable as the numbers claim... and I think I was right.  Also, one needs to have that *snap* in the wrist when throwing any MVP disc in order to get it to perform well (and correctly).

Having said that, the Impulse did well for me as I threw it.  It gives me good distance on uphill throws as well as downhill and flat throws, comparable to (if not better than) other discs of the same general speeds (10,11).  It did decently in the wind, even cut through headwinds better than I expected.  It does not turn much at all, but I *can* get a decent flip with a *very* mild hyzer throw.

Overall, the Impulse is what I expected the Inertia to be, and will be a good compliment to my similar-speed Innova Archon in my bag..

I'm a forehand player and love the disc for rollers and working on keeping oat out of my game. I could really see this disc being great for teaching hyzerflip technique to average level arms.

Love this disc, this is my first year playing so I did some research and found out under stable discs are good for beginners, so I picked one up, and can't get enough of it. This s thing flys so straight with just the right amount of fade at the end. Can't wait to see the new line the just came out with.

This disc is the Hyzer Flipping Machine you are looking for!! I have a 168 Impulse and i can release it on a good Hyzer release and it will flip up and go dead straight. When thrown flat, this disc will have lots of turn before it hits the forward penitrating fade. MVP discs have the gyro rims, so unlike other discs that fall out of the sky when they start to fade, MVP and Axiom discs will have a forward penitrating fade, to get you a little bit extra distance.
