The Phoenix is a very overstable, low-glide, wind-fighting driver. This is one of Mint's most overstable control drivers. It fights the wind well, and is available in multiple quality plastics.

The Apex Phoenix is an awesome Firebird replacement. It has a different feel overall. The rim feels more slight/less substantial and maybe even slightly sharper, and while the disc has a bit of dome it is not as domey as most stock Champ Firebirds I've pawed. Flight wise mine is almost exactly like a Champ Firebird. Beefy, though not utterly glideless. Its gonna fade pretty much no matter how you throw it, but it can actually get respectable distance, unlike say a Discmania Tilt or a Legacy Fighter. It is an excellent wind fighter, and you can torque monkey the heck out of it and it wont roll over on you. Forehand drives and anny flex lines are its bread and butter, and it is also great for sky hyzers and controlled flair skip shots. If you want a Firebird flight but would like something that feels a bit smaller in the hand, this could very well be the disc for you.
