The MINT Discs Longhorn is the perfect complement to the understable Freetail. The Longhorn will flip up to flat and soar down the fairway, before it's trusty fade kicks in. It's the perfect long-bomb, overstable-stable distance driver.

I have this disc in Sublime plastic. Flies very straight with little turn and a predictable fade at the end of the flight. Very comparable to a wraith. Starts to turn a little more the more you break it in.

Throwing Apex plastic at 4,400 ft in Utah, weighing 175g. To me, 5 stars = incredible disc 4 stars = good & dependable disc. I don't give out too many 5 star ratings.

This is an enjoyable disc to throw around. It kinda reminds me of a the Innova SL mold. The Apex plastic is some tough plastic. It has good grip to it as well.

For me, this disc feels heavier than other 175g discs. Its kinda weird. For me, throwing this disc does feel harder to throw than other discs. Regardless of that though, I have been able to get 300+ feet out of this driver. I find that the flight numbers are really accurate, portraying the depicted flight path above.

I find that the Longhorn is reliable, consistent, and a good disc overall. Would recommend this to intermediate/advance/pro players who want this type of a flight path.

I purchased both a Apex and Sublime from Mint discs with the purpose of wanting to try them and review them compared to a couple discs I currently throw.  For Reference my distance is about 300-350 max and I feel most comfortable throwing 9-11 speed discs.   Currently in my bag are the Infinite Aztec and the Lat 64 Flow. In the past I also have tried the Innova Wraith/Orc/Beast and Lat 64 Musket.

First off let me tell you Sublime plastic is amazing. It feels a lot like the old school Lava plastic from Lat 64.  I have a Flow in Lava and  even the looks are comparable.

Both plastics straight out of the box seemed like #'s were spot on. The disc had a little turn but faded nicely at the end, maybe even more then I thought it would be I was also throwing in a tailwind on the day I tested.

It was more stable then my Aztec, which was what I was hoping for and very comparable to my Flow/Muskets but just didn't feel it was quite as glidey as either which is why I fell in love with them.

I feel like the Longhorn though could be a nice control driver for a lot of people with similar arm speed and distance. For newer players it could be a nice OS wind disc and for bigger arms a big tailwind bomber.

I would be interested in picking up more sublimes in the future when they are move available and excited to try other Mint discs in that plastic.

I currently throw the Glow, Apex, and Sublime plastic in the Longhorn. It is true that they fly similar to broken in Wraith, however, the major difference to me is their reliability. I cannot overemphasize the quality of the plastic and finish of the disc. They are not just great looking, but the feel is phenomenal. No sharp edges and they feel and release so nice both backhand and forehand. I believe that is why my groups on my throws are so much tighter than with my Wraiths. You get a great release every time.

All that being said... If you don't have at least 300' of power they are going to be too overstable for you.

I have the limited edition release of this disc on glow plastic. This is essentially a wraith with a much flatter top (at least than my 2 star halo wraiths, innova is known to be all over the place with their domes). It fights wind very well but doesn't have quite the amount of glide I would like out of an 11 speed. For these reasons, I would say it makes an excellent forehand disc due to the comfort of it in the hand and its predictable overstability.

Other than the glide, the only complaint I have is that the stamp on my disc is already very worn and I have only thrown it on open, treeless courses for a month or so. This is probably not an issue with the apex plastic but I would have preferred a stamp that won't rub off with the touch of a slightly wet thumb. Mint discs is a great manufacturer and worth supporting, so if you like the wraith but don't like pop-top discs, give the Longhorn a shot.

Was gifted one in Nocturnal Glow plastic, and I was pleasantly surprised. I've always thrown Wraiths (champion, star, halo star) and they've always been my go-to discs for max distance and a relatively straight flight. I never found a Wraith that I could consistently forehand, mostly due to my poor form. The Longhorn flies every bit as well as a Wraith on a full power backhand, yet was much more stable and predictable on forehand shots. It seems to have a bit more early flight stability that helps it fight through wobbles/off-axis torque. Great versatile disc for all arm speeds!
