The Polaris is one of the best slightly understable, straight-flying drivers on the market. This disc is straight, predictable, and fast enough to give you great distance. This disc is great for line drive shots in low-ceiling areas. The Polaris is easy to throw for all skill levels and comes in both the Millennium and Sirius plastics. This is a great distance driver for beginners.

Polaris Quantum. I'm an intermediate arm and a big Millennium fan, big JLS fan for over 20 years. So we're talking about a control driver. Control drivers are more designed for accuracy than distance. Although you might be able to get some good distance with the Polaris there are disc that are better suited for that role. I've had a Polaris since 2000 and I always think of it as the little brother to the JLS. Not a bad thing, just different. I use it mostly as an accessory to the JLS for those situations that the JLS is not well suited for. The Quantum Polaris is flatter than the Quantum JLS. It is more stable and better suited for those power arms or high torque side arm throws. The JLS can get a little flippy in a high torque throw. The Polaris has a steeper dump or fade and I also use it if I'm trying not to overshoot the target. It is super straight and will hold any angle you give it and has enough stability to get a nice little flex. I really only bag the Polaris on windy days or on an unknown course. I'm sure a beginner will enjoy how straight it is but unless your a side arm thrower I would suggest a more natural progression by starting with the JLS, then the Orion LF, Orion LS and saving the Polaris for later. It really shines on those high torque forehand flicks. I had a Polaris as a beginner and I didn't really like it compared to the JLS until I figured out its niche. Great for tunnel shots, cross winds, controlled landings and high torque flicks.

This disc is a really good one that could be used to fill the straight fairway slot in your bag.  For whatever reason, it just didn't click with me.  There is just too much overlap with other discs to make my bag.

This was one of my very first discs way back in the day, and 9 years later it is still in the bag.  This disc is perfect for beginners and is awesome for straight shots! One of my primary woods discs for those really narrow straight fairways.

One of the oldies but goodies from Millennium. The Polaris is a great straight to understable flyer. It has a super comfortable, small rim that fits easy in the hand. It has a little bit of dome to it that helps the disc's great glide. Its flight is going to be fairly straight unless given some power, then you will see some nice turn. This disc is great for hyzerflips and turnover shots. Veterans and beginners alike will be able to find good uses for this disc.

I really want to like this disc, I really do. It's still in my bag after almost a year but I just can't depend on it. It's too finicky. The sweet spot is too hard to find, it's so easy to put too much on this disc and it will get away from you and conversly if you don't put enough on it it will not get up to where you want to. I have had a few beautiful throws with it but I have been having much more success with my new FD (Discmania) for hyzer flips and turnovers with lots of glide.
