I tested the Gauge along with its midrange siblings, the Valor and Badger, plus a few other mids with similar flight numbers. 5/5/0/1 seems to fit the bill. I got pretty straight flights and good distance with it, and only a slight fade at the end (more pronounced with a tailwind, but that's to be expected). The Gauge usually ended up with the best overall flight compared to its siblings, even though mine is slightly heavier than the other two; and it was comparable to the best of my other stable mids as well. It has a good feel in the hand and comes out smoothly. I like the feel of the Icon plastic, though I haven't had occasion yet to see just how durable it is. I do notice a little bit of flashing on the outer edge of each one of these Legacy midranges, but it's not enough to be a problem.

I got this disc as a mystery disc. It for sure flew more under stable for me. The disc has more glide than the flight numbers say (at least to me). For that reason I have loved having it in my bag. It is especially useful to me on Par 3 courses. Its nice to take place of a driver putter on a longer shot because I know I can put it on a straight line to the basket and it will hold that forever.

Very workable disc with a variety of applications. Great for drives of 225 to 300 but you'll need to give it a hyzer release. I'd say its like a domey m4. Very glidey, a staple for any legacy bag. Great disc for any level of experience, and the Icon plastic has some of the best grip on the market.

    Plastic:

Icon - not nearly as grippy as the Icon Bandit I have. Comparable to an Innova medium rigid star run.

    Flight:

Straight flip-up shots that I can put some power into with a straight to slight left finish.

Flat straight to slight right finish shots.

Turnovers that flex to finish very soft.

    Comparison (vs. Innova Mako3):

Mako3 holds hyzer better but can roll over when you lean into them on flat throws.

Mako3 is a great 'must' turnover disc.

Gauge is better for finesse turnovers because of a softer finish.

Gauge is better for hyzer flip straight (tunnel) shots

Found this disc one day playing and i have thrown it a few times on some shorter holes it flies really straight and it is super easy to throw backhand which is the only way I throw my discs. It has a left hook on it but if you know how to correct the curve it is a very good disc to use.

Love this disc nice grip even when wet. Flies straight for a long way then has slight fade at end. I use it for that approach shot and if I miss the basket,  its just by inches. I also use it for my putter. It great just grab the chains all day. Not to hard and not to soft. Just sticky enough to stay in that basket. Now I'm looking for other legacy disc to put in my bag

If you're looking for a super straight flying midrange, the Gauge could adequately fill a slot in your bag. While the more rounded shape of this disc is different than the Innova Mako3, the flight path is really similar - a tiny degree of turn and very minimal end of flight fade.

When I release the Gauge on an Anhyzer line, it holds that line all the way to the end. This disc works very well for turnover shots. When I throw it at full power with a slight hyzer angle, it flips to flat and glides perfectly straight. In my test throws it seemed that the Gauge had a little bit more glide and a little more turn than did the Mako3 I was comparing it with. I like the feel and the flight of the Gauge, but don't give it a five star rating as I don't love the plastic.

My 175g Gauge is in Icon plastic, and feels really hard, especially in sub freezing temperatures. The plastic didn't seem to effect my grip or anything, and the snow wiped off it very easily which was a plus. I don't dislike the plastic, it's not like that hard DGA stuff, but there are just other plastic blends out there that feel better to me. One thing I know for sure is that cold Icon plastic works great for sliding down snowy hills, especially when your disc turns upside down (first hand experience). If you're a Legacy fan and want a super straight flying disc that works well for Anhyzer throws, you'll want the Legacy Gauge. If you are just looking for a good straight flyer, there are other mids that will do the job just as well.
