I tested the Badger along with its midrange siblings, the Gauge and Valor, plus a few other mids with flight numbers as close as I could find among my inventory. The 6/3/0/3 seems pretty accurate to me: Comparing it to my 5-speed mids -- each with 0-Turn and Fade of 2, 2.5, or 3 -- it clearly had an earlier, stronger pull to the left (RHBH throw) than any of the others, usually with quite a hard skip left at the end, too. No surprise, then, that I got less forward distance with the Badger than with the others, but it certainly fills a different purpose, providing a different shot shape. However, I have several discs anywhere from 2 to 3 speeds lower or higher than the Badger that provide that same essential flight shape, so I'll have to see which ones tend to beat out the others in real-world use on the courses. The disc feels good in the hand and I like the feel of the Pinnacle plastic, but I haven't had occasion yet to see just how durable it is. I do notice a little bit of flashing on the outer edge of each one of these Legacy midranges, but it's not enough to be a problem. Unless a beginning player has a good strong forehand flick from the outset, I'm guessing that this will be a difficult starting disc for them, so I'd suggest a midrange with less stability and more glide.

Great disc for forehand approach shots. Very meaty disc that won't turnover. Comfortable rim for forehand grip with flat flight plate. If you like discs like gator, justice, anvil, warrior, etc. give this a try.

ANYBODY BUYING THE DISCMANIA MUTANT SHOULD TEST THIS DISC NEXT TO IT. First off, this plastic is great. Feels like Innovas' champion plastic after a beating. Has a nice flex out of the box and grip in all conditions. I mostly throw the harp for my forehand approaches but struggled with throwing any turnover lines or long shots with it. The rim of the harp is deep like a putter and I could not release it consistently. I decided it was time for a more overstable and faster midrange. This disc was exactly what I was looking for. Has a bit less profile than a harp but is still deep enough for my large hands. Legacy rates this as a 6 speed and I agree. I thought it would replace my harp but it goes so much further its in its own slot in my bag. I play in Kansas in 20-30 mph winds and this is predictable and low glide enough to stay under the wind. Because it is a 6 speed the flutters really get burned up on power throws and this allows for the confidence in ranging that I wanted out of my harp. Great disc.

The badger is super flat and extremely over stable. It's really a disc you can trust and it comes out of your hand really smooth. I have a powerful sidearm and this disc is my best friend. It's impossible to turn over so you can pretty much throw it as hard as you can with some anhyzer and it will fight back. I got the prototype mold and I don't have much info on it but it's such an amazing disc.

The Badger fits that heavy fade, overstable mid slot. I have thrown a justice, deflector, anvil, and this disc holds up in flight to these ones. The beadless bottom seems to come out of the hand easy on both forehand and backhand. I have one in pinnacle plastic and also the prototype which I think is in the legend plastic. Pinnacle is a great feel similar to champion plastic but maybe slightly more grip. The prototype actually had less glide and wanted to drop out of the air pretty quick, which is what I like in this slot for my bag. It gives me the confidence to throw it hard and not worry about it blowing by the basket. A reliable mid that I can trust to never turn, the badger is a staple in my bag.

VERY overstable. I bag a Lucid X Moonshine Justice and this disc is every bit as overstable. Mine is very flat on top, but I've heard that they vary pretty drastically on overall dome profile. This disc does not have any rounded edges, and actually feels similar to the Discmania Mutant (minus the thumbtrack). Plastic is pretty flexible, but I would not say it is gummy. I use mine almost exclusively for forehand, as it can handle a TON of torque. The plastic is super durable and does not show any wear after a dozen rounds. This disc will probably fly under the radar but it's a fantastic meathook/utility midrange that should make it's way into more player's bags.
