I love my K1 Kaxe, it was one of the first discs I tried and the glide plus reliable fade at the end is perfect for beginners.

The Kaxe is an overstable mix between a midrange and fairway driver that makes it great for longer throws with a fan grip. It tends to push about 35 feet farther than my midranges on average and I still feel like I have great control with it. I use this disc mostly for long hyzer approaches, and it handles a small flex shot well too.

This disc has quickly become one of my favorite discs!

Kastaplast's plastic is talked about a lot, and for good reason. This disc is grippy, durable, and has the right amount of give for it to be very comfortable in my hand.

The kaxe is a slightly overstable midrange that gets good distance, and isn't too overstable to the point where it'll dump out of whatever line it's given. It will hold a turnover for a good amount of time, then fight out for reliable fade at the end of the flight.

Was hoping this would be a reliable overstable distance upshot type disc. Like a longer zone - as the flight numbers suggest. Unfortunately, mine is straight and turns a fair amount when 200+ ft of power is applied to a flat throw. I might decide I want to keep it as short driver.. but not what I was looking for.

This disc is great for windy days, hyzers in the woods and for shots you need a predictable fade. It completely took the place of my roc3 and its has enough speed to be a fairway driver. If you want to carry less molds in your bag I would highly recommend this disc.

Love the feel of the plastic, and the flight is very predictable.  It has tons of glide as well, lots of distance for a mid-range

The Kaxe is a lovely disc to throw. K1 plastic feels great in the hand and the small bead is hardly noticeable. It flies like a longer, more stable Buzzz or a slower Explorer. It did not find a place in my bag because it was too niche and in between the discs listed prior, but I would not doubt if someone told me they Kaxe was their most trusted disc.

The acid test for a disc is this: which one did I actually turn to most during tournament rounds? Not surprisingly, the Kaxe is the disc I choose off the tee 80% of the time. Ultra dependable, with just the right blend of fade and glide. Think of it as a slightly beefier, slightly faster Buzzz. Absolutely world-class plastic feel in the hand. The only downsides/notes: this is not a torque-resistant disc, so I don't use it for sidearm shots. Also, the rim shape generates lively ground play, so you have to adjust your lines for hyzer shots. Assume a solid 25-feet of ground skip or more. The best part about the Kaxe is the speed control. I can effectively club down or club up with this single disc, dropping soft 140 foot upshots or 410 foot drives. Truly versatile.

    177g K1 Kaxe

The Kaxe falls right between a midrange and fairway driver, in terms of both feel and flight. Although the flight ratings indicate a 0 turn and 3 fade, I'd say my K1 Kaxe is closer to a -1 turn and 2 fade. Not quite as stable as I was expecting, but still a decent flight.

The K1 plastic is has an incredible feel, having the perfect amount of flexibility, durability, and grip.

Ultimately, the Kaxe didn't find its way into my bag. I was hoping get fairway driver distance with a midrange flight, but it ended up being the opposite. The Kaxe goes a similar distance to my Buzzz, but relies on a more penetrating "S" curve flight. With that being said, it's still a good disc if you can find the place for it in your bag.

I have this disc in both k1 and k2 and they all fly the same. For me they have just a bit of high speed turn followed by a reliable fade. In some ways they fly like a junior destroyer, if the speed was cut in half. I use it both as a mid and a shorter fairway driver. Once seasoned I'd rate it as 6, 5, -1, 3.

The Kaxe in K1 is as dependable as you could ask for. Release it flat and it'll run straight before a hard fade. Release it on a smooth hyzer, and it'll follow it's line start to finish. Throw it on an anny and it'll fight it's way back.

It's got some skip to it, so you have to think about what angle it hits the ground at. It's a super fun disc.

    K1 plastic is phenomenal.

Probably a top three disc of all time for me. This is such a fun disc to throw. Upon release you get a perfect dependable flat & straight shot for expected distance and then, like magic, it stops going straight and suddenly turns left for another 30 -40 feet or so and softly lands. Repeats every time you throw. The K1 plastic is perfect. K2 is too bendy and I do not get the same consistent throws. Recommend fully, it will never leave your bag.

Started playing last September after 40+ years of golf, and this disc has become my 7 iron. Most consistent disc in my bag. It is the disc I throw when I'm not sure what to throw. The other reviewers echo my sentiments in that it flies like very long Roc. Where I throw a Roc 250' with the reliable fade, the Kaxe gets more out in the 275-280' range with similar flight and velocity.

The K1 plastic is the nicest plastic I have seen yet, it is super tacky and just pliable enough.

Great disc for my arm speed. I drive around 330-350 and this midrange touches around 300 with a perfectly predictable overstable flight. Flies similarly to the champion roc3, but feels way superior in my hand. I wouldn’t say it’s too overstable for throwers over 200 ft. This has become a staple in my bag and I can’t play a round without it.

Another amazing offering from Kastaplast! As always, the K1 plastic is incredible; my favorite on the market for sure! As far as the flight is concerned, it's exactly what I expected it to be. Thrown flat, it'll go out a long way and fade back nicely at the end. It's not a sharp, sudden dump-off kind of fade, but more a forward penetrating kind of fade. Thrown on a hyzer it'll hold it to the ground and provide a mild skip. Release it on an anny and, depending on how high you throw, will fight out and fade at the end, or flatten out if thrown lower. To me, glide is subjective, but I would rate it as a 5 glide, as opposed to the 4 listed. This disc is a perfect complement to my warships, and is a great, stable mid-range. Kind of reminds me a bit of one of the stable runs of Emac Truths.

This disc is, for my slower arm, what a Teebird is for others. I throw it on any hole around 300' where I am able to play the (predictable) fade. It is dead straight until it runs out of glide, then fades nice and hard to the left (RHBH). Like the Thunderbird of mids. Perfect tweener disc.

It kicked the eMac Truth out of my bag. That good.

The K1 plastic is just...well, it's wonderful. Firm and just tacky enough. No marks after some full force tree hits. Gorgeous color. Lives up to the hype.

K1 is worth trying if you haven't felt it, and this tweener disc is your most baggable bet to do so.

The plastic alone should make you want one and then come the flight. It's a straight disc with a healthy reliable fade, though I would say mine is starting to make me question the reliable fade after a year of use perhaps time to replace it. The comparison of it being between a teebird and roc is very fair though it does have more of the teebird skip to it if thrown on a low line. This is not your hit and sit midrange but it will not skip like a wide rim driver either. The control you have in the air with this disc is where it compares to the likes of a roc or roc3. It can be flexed, it can be crused flat, it can be intentionally skipped, it will do the big hyzer route. The only thing this disc absolutely doesn't want to do, is be thrown under 100', then it becomes unreliably beefy. Check one out I'd say the fade is more of a teebird-esque 2. It will fade everytime for you but it glides out on that fade and I think a 3 fade is more dumpy like a destroyer or firebird.

Wow does this plastic ever feel great. Could very well be the best feeling plastic I've ever handled.  I really like the disc shape, it has more of a control diver rim over a mid rim, more pointed and thinner.  It's similar to a Leopard if it had a flat top.  Just feels fantastic in the hand.

As far as throwing it? It's just a little too beefy for my little arm.  It goes fast and fades hard.  I just don't feel like I have the same control that I do with my metal flake MD3. Although I get similar results.  That's the closest disc I can compare it to, that or maybe a Trident.

If you are looking for a smaller rim, beadless OS mid, this should be at the top of your list to try, but you will probably like it much more if you have 400+ power.

I know in my Kaxe Z review I stated a preference for the Z over the original Kaxe (Z gets more distance due to more glide over a fuller flight so covers both stable midrange and understable fairway driver duties) but that in no way means they're both not 5 star discs.  I seldom bag both at the same time and this original Kaxe gets the nod on windy days or at heavily wooded courses where HST is a liability.  Horses for courses... except now I see that I can get a Kaxe in K3.  That horse might work on every course by splitting the difference between the Z and the Kaxe. Stacks of seasoned Kaxe K3's might well be in my future truth be told.  The only drawback would be not getting to fondle Kastaplast's awesone K1 and K2 plastics as regularly.

I probably recommend this disc more often than any other disc in my bag. I have gotten more CTPs with this disc than any other. It has a really unique flight path that perfectly suits shorter holes that are straight and narrow, but have sharp left turn at the end. I love throwing this disc off the tee and I can depend on it to fly very straight with a dependable hard fade at the end every time.

Also worth noting the quality of this plastic is unparalleled. It is so nice. People always ask me about this disc because of how nice it looks.

The Kaxe is one of my favorites. Very dependable and very stable. Its a mid that can handle any amount of power and can get some pretty good distance. I have it in K1 and K2 and the plastic is amazing. K2 plastic does get a little too floppy when it gets hot though.

As Jamie said, this is a very unique disc. It has the capability to overtake slots for long, straight fairways, as well as overstable mids. After getting my K1 Kaxe with Reptilian's Eye Stamp, it quickly became my all-arounder. In fact, in my "day-tripper" bag, a Kaxe and a Prodigy M4 are the only mids or fairways I carry.

The Kaxe feels like a small diameter mid with a slightly elongated wing and micro bead. It's fast and smooth. When throwing it, it was exactly what I hoped for. Longer than my mids, but not quite to my fairways. The difference is negligible and I can't really see much situation where throwing a fairway driver over my Kaxe will gain me much. The Kaxe covers more lines than any other disc in my bag - from 250' midrange shots, to 320' shots that I would typically reach for a Prodigy F5 or Discmaina FD2. It handles power without turning over, fights wind, holds a dead straight line but will still fight back to finish with a predictable fade.

Moveover, the Kaxe just feels so good in the hand. The K1 plastic is slightly flexible - yet maintains rigidity, smooth, and tacky - similar to Lat64 Opto or a bit of a softer Prodigy 400s. Solid premium plastic entry. The wing of the disc is comfortably smoothed to nestle into your hand without any disc-comfort (I crack me up) unlike some fairways that have a sharp feeling wing. The wing holds very firm even with a full-power pull while the flight plate is soft enough to provide excellent grip. I am an instant fan of this plastic.

All in all, this is an incredibly versatile disc with more uses than anything I've thrown. With a Kaxe and an understable companion disc, you can cover just about any shot between putters and distance drivers.

I got my first exposure to Kastaplast yesterday with the Kaxe in K1 plastic. My first impression was very good, and I plan on keeping the Kaxe in the bag for at least a few more rounds. In a lot of ways, I think a good comparison for me to make with this disc is it is a faster and maybe slightly more overstable Roc3--and I love the Roc3. The Kaxe felt good in my hand, and it is a straight flier that still has a solid fade at the end of the flight. My best shot of the day was with the Kaxe on a somewhat narrow fareway that has a mando on the left side about 300 feet from the teebox and then a small stream that runs between that mando and the basket. I threw the Kaxe backhand with slight anny right at the mando. It glided out holding the anny line and then right as it was getting toward the mando it started to break out and it faded right around the mando and landed about 30 feet from the basket. I feel like the Kaxe is a great all around disc that can be used for multiple shots. I am curious to try the Kaxe Z which is supposed to be the same just less overstable.

I was really impressed with the Kaxe. K1 plastic is superior and this disc is a great midairway driver. It's definitely right inbetween a midrange and a fairway driver. It's a little taller and deeper than most fairway drivers but it's definitely not as blunt and slow as most midranges.

This is a good overstable disc, and I really like the Kaxe for short range forehand shots. Thrown backhand this disc hyzers out and always finishes left for me. Kataplast makes some excelent plastic. As more people try this plastic, I wouldn't be surprised to see Kataplast become more mainstream here in the U.S.
