The Kastaplast Falk is an understable fairway driver named after the Swedish word for falcon. And just like a falcon, the Falk should navigate and own the skies with the perfect combination of speed, glide, and accuracy. The Falk is Kastaplast's answer for the call for a true fairway driver.

I was looking for an understable control driver that was faster than a Leopard but not a full out distance driver. After feeling and trying a couple I settled on the Falk and I'm very glad I did. Buttery smooth flight. I found it to be very close to the numbers out of the box. On a flat, smooth rip this will drift right, with a gentle fade back. With some anhyzer I can get it to hold the right pan for the whole flight. On hyzer it will flip up and glide for days. Give this a smooth throw and a little height and it will do wonders for you. My go-to for shaping longer drives in the woods right now.

I got this one mainly to try K1 soft plastic and I have to say that for colder weather it is amazing. A little flex and grippy without being floppy or losing integrity.

It also appears more or less impervious to impact.

The Falk reminds me of a Valkyrie in that it it's very straight and reliable at lower power, and as you add more and more speed to it the glide and turn really activates and you can throw some pretty long shots with it. You just have to be a little careful as with enough power it won't fight out of a turn at all.

I would definitely give this disc to a newer player in good conscious and know that it could preform well for many immediately, but many more experienced players would also find uses.

Just to pre-frame things, I have been playing more seriously recently but have played on and off for about 8 years. I am right hand dominant with a pretty even split between forehand and backhand shots. My honest drive distance is around 275-300 feet with a max of around 350 on a good day.

Plastic: I know everybody freaks out over kastaplastic but this stuff truly is special. Other manufacturers are starting to mimic it but the K1 soft plastic is the best of everything. Good gummy flex but not floppy and will hold up to torque well, even forehands. It grips well even in the rain. Holds up to hitting trees and normal wear pretty well. Only thing I will say is that this stuff will get shredded by asphalt really easily if you play somewhere near paved areas or walking paths.

Feel: I love the profile as the rim is not too thick and feels good in the hand. Not much dome to the disc with a fairly flat top. It feels comfortable both forehand and backhand.

Flight:  Out of the box mine flies great.  I can get it to flip up to flat/soft turn over depending on the amount of hyzer release. The falk usually has some fight back fade at the end but it is soft. If I put it on a good anhyzer release, it will hold an easy turn over and finish to the right (RHBH). To throw this forehand takes a good amount of touch but it will still handle a smooth high speed throw. It will not stand up to a chop anhyzer release if that is what your forehand release is like.

Overall I am really enjoying the Falk.  It is not the best for brand new players since a 9 speed still takes a fair amount of arm speed, but this is great for players wanting to move up into an easier throwing driver. The amount of glide on this disc and the under stability makes it easy to get a little more distance without a punishing fade if you have nose angle control issues. Excellent lower speed driver perfect for learning hyzer flips and straight tee shots.

This disc simply does not function as a 9 speed for me, at least compared to Innova standards.

On top of needing more speed than other 9 speeds, it seems to also be more stable than -2/1. I have had a similar issue with other discs in this configuration namely Star Leopards.

Overall it feels incredible in the hand and I will continue to practice with it, perhaps it just needs to be worked in a touch.
