K1 Soft is an even grippier plastic than K1. It's great for the cold or if you need a disc to stop near a basket by grabbing the ground quickly.

The Berg X is very close to just being a Berg, but with just enough difference to actually make a difference. First off the disc feels shallower in my hand, which I appreciate since I don't have very big hands. Next thing is the stability difference. While both my Berg (K1 regular) and Berg X (K1 soft) fade about the same, I do notice a fair bit more resistance to turn from the Berg X. So while I can get a Berg to turn over if I really want it to, the Berg X makes it pretty difficult, like there's no reason to throw anything that hard difficult. Straight to fade is its bread and butter. Chuck it hard, watch it attempt to stay in the air for a short time then fall down with little semblance of grace, but with great accuracy. The Berg X is great at that.
