The Zephyr is a Super Class golf disc that is probably better suited as a catch disc. It is great to have in the car on tournament days and use it to play catch to warm up. I definitely will have more stability to it vs a Discraft Ultrastar, but it is still fun to throw. If you do take it out on the course for a regular round, I would reach for it when you need a soft forehand or backhand approach. It is also fun to go out and play a round with just a Zephyr and a putter to really challenge yourself on how well you can control angles and shape shots with a disc the large.

The zephyr is designed to be a throw and catch disc, perfect for throwing with a friend or for a day at the beach.  It is also PDGA approved so technically you could use it for disc golf, but I wouldn't recommend it.  The Zephyr flies dead straight with both backhand and forehand, and is similar to an ultrastar but it isn't as easy to control the angles with it or throw tomahawks/hammers.  The zephyr is an okay way to introduce someone to disc golf, but it is better for beginners to start with a buzzz type disc or a putter.  Overall, the zephyr is fun to mess around with but I prefer the ultrastar, and it shouldn't be used for disc golf unless you're just having fun.

The Zephyr is such a unique disc because of how large the diameter is. I imagine if you managed to stumble upon these reviews, you are well aware of the zephyr's performance and was not recommended this as a beginner (you know what you are getting yourself into). I played with my friend's and boy does this thing float. It is just enormous and will soak up your imperfections leaving you without any indication on how to improve. It is a very fun disc to whip out and nail the chains with, but I wouldn't use this for serious play. Very good for low approach shots where you want the disc to sink for a nice layup.

First and most importantly: this disc is large. Regular golf discs fit completely inside it. I like the Zephyr as a catch disc but will bring it out for actual rounds when playing with beginners or in the snow. It tends to land very softly on approaches, but I don't think it is special enough to knock my regular putters out of the bag or justify the effort of carrying an oversize disc every round. Great fun and will teach you how to throw smoothly.

Super straight disc. It's basically a PDGA approved Ultimate Frisbee disc. It probably isn't fast enough to handle much power, but it doesn't take much power to get this disc to just glide. It will hold whatever angle is put on it almost the whole way to the ground. Great approach disc!

This really is a fun disc to throw. When I first started I carried this on the course and threw it off the tee alot of the time. It is a great disc to carry getting started because this disc will fly a good distance even when you are still working on your form. This disc will allow you to still have fun when you are learning. You may get some looks on the course but who cares! It's fun

The Zephyr is a really fun disc, but not something I use during rounds on the course. This disc is a large, I mean really large, diameter disc that can really float down the fairway. It is really responsive to the angle you put it on. I primarily use is as a throw and catch disc to warm up.

Disc flies straight. Dead straight. You can throw it hard and on reasonable angles and it still flies fairly straight. Very slow, does not go far. Suitable for short, straight, down-hill shots. A fun disc to show friends and play catch with. Not incredibly useful on the course. Not very good for beginners as they do not fly far. Senior disc golfers from the beginning of the sport can throw these "lids" quite amazingly. With the exception of special runs, this disc only comes in DX (supposed to better quality DX than average) in heavy weights (up to 200g). It is PDGA approved, although no one on the course will believe you. Thankfully it is labeled as such.
