I got this disc from my dad when I had first started in WX plastic and it was my favorite disc I have ever owned. Even after one of my friends broke it basically in half, it is still #1 on the list. I have thrown a lot of discs and nothing compares to the feel and flight that I got out of that disc. I got a newer one and it was nothing like my old one even after I broke it in. I later got a brand new original WX whippet that isn't made anymore and I never threw it because there is a chance that it is the only disc like it. It is white with a rainbow stamp and is in a case hanging in my man cave. Nothing like it dude best disc I've ever thrown. DX plastic is very similar to WX but DX is way less durable and less comfortable in the hand.

The whippet is probably my favorite disc of all time. It's under used, went out of production. I was really looking for a midrange that would hook hard around corners. This disc was also my get out of jail card for throw outs back into the lane. Very predictable flight and as the disc got beat in, would hold the straight line off the pad, but would always hook on the fade. Such a fun disc to use.

The Whippet is a disc I used more when I first started playing and was throwing a ton of thumbers. This is a great disc for that purpose. Now that I throw mostly backhand, I have found other discs to fill my overstable needs much better. This disc hooks up quickly out of the hand, it almost flies more like an overstable mid-range with a driver feel in hand. It is most commonly made in DX plastic, but even then it seems harder to find. If you are looking for overstable I would look at a Banshee or a Firebird.

I got a 175g Whippet-X in Star plastic for "X"mas!  So this review is for that.  This disc is a little domey with an old school rim that made me feel nostalgic... and well old.  To me it felt good in hand for all grips but looks a little funny in the bag.  The X appears to have less high speed stability and more fade than the standard Whippet.  The X still has way more high speed stability than a Trident, though the fade is similar.  This is not a fast disc.  Thrown at an appropriate speed it has a big slow fade after a little positive turn.  But thrown with conviction and an anny it held the anny longer than I would have liked.  I feel like its mission in my bag is hyzer approach shots, low speed cut FH rollers and thumbers.  It does not fly the same, but I am debating swapping out a Prodigy A1 in my bag to see if the Whippet-X can win me over with its broader variety of shots.

Whoof-da the Whippet is overstable. It's a classic, and for a reason. Best described as either a slower Firebird or a faster Viper, the Whippet doesn't screw around. It knows what it does best: goes straight out of the hand and hooks up hard. Fantastic for power forehands that don't need to go past 300 feet, overhands of all kinds and high-power flex shots. The Whippet does have a pretty unique rim, so it takes some getting used to.

Currently only availble in DX plastic, the Whippet is cheap to try and fun to throw. But not for low-power players.

This is the best disc Innova makes, which is why there are not any hybrids or new lines of them just the basics. I always reccommend that a beginner pick one up and learn to throw with it, because if they can crush a whippet they can crush anything anybody makes.

I have been throwing this disc since 2000, i have dx, star champion first run, glow, and a metal flake first run. I always look for a whippet run on any line.

I tried to buy the patent/mold off of Innova, they wouldn't sell, and they told me they are about to make whippets available throught the factory store only. So, I hate to let a secret out of the bag, but tell everyone about whippets... the best disc anyone makes.

This thing doesn't get the credit it deserves and I think it's because it is only sold in DX plastic on the veryday market. It WILL NOT turn which comes in handy for woods shots where you need to get around obstacles (btw I'm RHBH). Not much glide but it is a very nice utility driver. Mine has gradually begun to lose some of it's patented fade. However, you can find limited production star molds of this disc online. So eventually I will probably be getting one.

Started with a Dx back when I first began playing and fell in love!! Have since found a glo champ from the 2013 Aisa open and its one of my goto disc, never play without it.Those times where you need that heavy fade while keeping your disc realitly level on relase it's the best option, awsome at long and short distances. Also great for overhead throws you want to turn over quiclkly and or S flicks, at least for me.

I have moved this disc out of my drivers and into my mid-range/utility disc section of my bag. I picked this disc up in 150 DX. With how light it is, throwing back hand, it's useless. Flat- It goes dead straight. Put a slight anny on it… Never comes back. However, the reason it stays in my bag. Thumbers and trick shots. With how light it is, I don't have to put a ton of power into it to get it to go far. Also if I need to thumb it a short distance, It'll still flip for me and spike right on target. Great for just about every trick shot I've tried with it.

Whitefedora has it right. After its beat in (and with dx it doesnt take long) it can be a very strait shooter. I like them because they feel more like a driver in hand, but Since they have less glide, I carry two and use them as a longer mid range for shots 300-325. this isnt a disc for everyone but i love it! For reference, I throw Pro-D Zones for shots <300 and I throw Destroyers for max D 375-400ft

Innova's most over stable disc. If you have not heard of it, you likely don't need one. Professionals only. It throws like a rock; not a roc, but a literal stone.
