I recommend this disc for beginners and experienced players alike.

I learned to use hyzer flips and turnovers with this disc. I threw both dx and champion versions. The dx was perfect as it slowly beat into a hyzer roller. Though it was still controllable unlike discs like the beast. The champion was pretty stable for me and I never really got the full flight path.

The flight plate is perfect for smaller hands. I find some of the higher speed discs have just a but too big rims. The Viking along with others similar like the Mamba have perfect rims for smaller hands.

I bought a DX Viking when I first started, it was supposed to be beginner friendly and good for Woods which there are alot of at my local courses.  At first it flew very straight for my and gradually started turning and fading similar to a Valkyrie.  After a few trees and some season I have to put some hyzer angle to keep it from flipping, so power players beware.  I now use this disc mainly for turnovers that I want to guarantee they won't come out of and fade back.  Good disc to try out.

Really awesome disc and a recommendation for most everyone. Pretty good for beginners seeing as I had no problem with throwing it decent distances as a beginner. I wish I had the champion plastic but a love the grip in the DX.

Found a DX Viking on my home course, and before I returned it to its owner I threw it around a bit.  It was a bit beat in, but I found it to be similar to a Valkyrie with a bit more fade, but not a huge amount of fade.  The Viking did well on an uphill shot, also.  I don't own a Viking and this was only some limited throwing of a used disc, but if you want something a bit more stable/overstable than a Valkyrie, the Viking will likely fit your needs well.
