The DX Ram has been brought back from the grave! Disc Golfers can now pick up a brand new DX Ram and relive some of disc golf's early days. The Ram is like a large diameter Griffin, working dependably as an overstable fairway driver.

I love that they ran the Ram in DX plastic again. This is a nice overstable fairway driver from back in the day. It hooks up pretty quick, but like many of these old overstable DX discs, it actually has some nice glide. The flight is similar to a Viper, but with a more driver like feel in hand. I tend to like the Viper more, but this was a fun disc to throw around again.

The Ram is the original super overstable disc.It had the widest rim (1.9 cm, meaning speed 9) of any Innova disc for at least a decade, and no wind could defeat it. It is so overstable that it is hard to get distance from it without an extreme flex shot, meaning you need long, wide open fairways.

It is also the skip king of the '90s.with truly massive skips possible if you hit the ground at right angle.

The DX plastic doesn't hold up well, but even a beat up Ram is overstable. This is not a disc for beginners by any means, other than just tossing for fun, and to see just how overstable discs could be in the early '90s.

Todays disc technology has left the Ram behind, but this is still a fun role player disc for those who understand and appreciate it.

(Infinite lists this disc as rim width 1.8 cm, but a quick check of the PDGA approved discs page does show it at 1.9 cm. How Infinite rates it as speed 6 is beyond me, Its rim is massive and it truly is a speed 9 disc,)
